These irons prove once again that the price tag has little to do with the performance. I found these irons to have very poor balance and feel, and were difficult to hit. I think the reason that tere areSO many options out there, new and old, is that everyone is different, and the key is to find the irons that FEEL great to you. Price, bramd, and even looks have little to do with finding the right set. For me, the X-18 Pros are a stinko set. For you, maybe not. I am a certified club junkie, but you almost have to be to find a set that is right... just right. For me, the set is the Taylor 320's, bought used for $115. Superb set... for me. My advice, for what it is worth, is to hit MANY irons of all flavors and shafts. You will know when you are getting close... check the ego at the door, it is about hitting them great, even if the set costs $50. Good luck to all golfers in their search!

Switched from X14. The X18 is a good iron - easy to use. When you hold it - you get a lot of confidence in it. Also a very pretty club

Fantastic Irons. Excellent forgiveness, Decent distance and fair workability.

Obviously, it is hard to find irons that offer the lot, unlimited forgiveness, hit the ball a mile, have the capacity to work the ball and award the sort of feeling that you learn from immediately. Normally you get two of the four categories. So how do the X-18 hold up?

Forgiveness

Exceptional, mis-hits are ok, off the center-to-toe they go straight losing approximately 1 club distance and off the center-to-heel no distance is lost but (in my opinion) you will miss a bit left! Swing smoothly with these and the ball will be hit properly, i.e no put downs! 10/10 Forgiveness (it's ridiculously easy to hit these!)

Distance

No too bad at all. Good distance. I am not the biggest hitter in the world but I got an extra club when I upgraded from the Titleist 822OS to these irons. However, the Taylor Made RAC LT seemed to be a touch longer. 8/10 Distance

Workability

These clubs are ok. It is easy to work the ball from Right to Left, Draw for the right hander. Not so easy to go Left to Right, in fact it takes a fair bit of effort to fade the ball with these irons, so much so that I have stopped trying to fade the ball with these irons. If there is a tricky pin right side of green with the danger on the right side, I'll aim center of the green unless I know I'm pinging my irons that day. Workability 7/10

Feel

I suppose these clubs don't pretend to be something they are not. Some feel but minimal feedback from these irons. I suppose you sacrifice feel for forgiveness. Feel 5/10.

Overall, Fantastic Irons. I highly recommend them. I have come down from 12 to 7 in Handicap and these irons are a good part of the reason and although my G.I.R (Greens in regulation) statistic has not gone up that much, I CONSISTENTLY HIT the ball decently, hence I don't want to go blades and I am closer to greens after 2nd shots (Par 4s) which means more Pars.

Well Done Callaway on a great Game Improvement Iron!

Great set of clubs takes some getting used, would NOT be a good set for beginners. For guys with consistent ball striking but not ready for forged/blades a perfect match, beleive me after MP 32s these are AMZING, finally broke the 90s barrier , and have shot my lowest (85) ever.

I had been searching a long time for a new set of irons. I had been playing some basic Dunlop's with graphite shafts but i just couldnt get a lot of distance out of them. I demod pings, nike and then callaway's. These Irons blew my mind when yu hit a shot right on its like a hot knife through butter and that ball gets up in a hurry and carries a logn way 8 iron going 150 out of the rough no problem. They are also very forgiving bad shot only fades instead of slicing. What i like about these clubs though is their pinpoint accuracy, once you figure out how far you hit each club all you have to do is point to where you want to hit the ball then aim it there and thats where it will end up. Ibought mine online for about half of the list price, and they were brand new so shop around, these are aces in my book.

After reading all of the great reviews on this web page I decided I needed to try the X-18's out. I got a demo set from my local golf shop and went to the range 2 times with them and then played 1 round with them. My first time out I shot a 79 which is a personal best for me. I am hitting these 15 yards longer than any other iron I've ever played and they are dead accurate. The feel is incredible, I've never been a big fan of forged clubs as some like the feedback. For me the best feedback is when I barely feel anything on a well struck shot (like a hot knife through butter). I got this feeling shot after shot with the X-18's. Needless to say, as soon as I finished with the 79 I went straight to the golf shop and bought them.

These clubs feel a little heavier than my Ben Hogan Edges, but with some minor adjustments I was hitting some shots I didn't have in the bag before. The feel is pretty close to forged too. Cost a fortune though

I was using Titleist irons for a few years and decided it was time for a change. I didn't really like the look of Callaway irons at the time. But, I thought I would try them out to see what they were all about. I am very glad I did. I am hitting the ball farther and more solid than before. The only thing I would change would be to get the pro-series. Other than that I wouldn't change them for anything, except for a shot on the tour.

I had played the X-14s and switched to the Ping I-3 oversize. The distance with Ping wasn't as far as the X-14 so I switched to the Ping G-2s. Good club but just wasn't the same. I went to the X-18s with precision rifle steel shaft and I'm very happy with their peformance. I've slowed my swing and now have better accuracy and still have as much distance as I did with the Pings. The X-18 is a beautiful iron and generates lots of interest from other golfers.

I have had the sticks for 4 weeks and can not get used to them , inconsistent in distance, shorter than my ping zing twos with steel shafts , i enjoy walking the flat courses and i need to take two clubs out to lighten the bag they are heavy, i will stay with them another 4 weeks if it does not get better i will call their service center , maybe i am missing something , i am not to sold on them yet i do not play to bad low 80s, and more expensive than others , nice looking though

Customer Service

I had visited their facility in Carlsbad ,they are very customer service oriented , they gave me, my wife and two kids hats . I will call them on the irons maybe i am missing something
