Went out and bought a set of X-18's after hitting some balls on the range with them. The clubs has to be one of the nicest I have ever hit with all shots (even miss hits) travelling far and straight. The club also is really soft and forgiving on impact. Looks great in the bag for that added flare. Great addition to my kit, and would recommended them to any one from the beginner to the course pro. Great value for money.

Was looking for a step up from my Cleveland Launchers. I thought (possibly incorrectly) that my game had improved past them. The X-18's were on sale and I jumped before hitting them too much. I wish I had hit them on an outside range first. They felt nice and soft when hit well so I bought them. Went straight out and hit a bucket and played a round. The seemed to hit alot lower than I wanted, but I thought it was me. So the next week I did the same thing with the same results. I found that when I swing out of my shoes the ball got up better. So this made me think shafts. The uniflex just wasn't for me. I took them back and got fitted for some Ping G-10's reg flex and they were night and day. High like my Clevelands and longer.
I liked the feel of the X-18's but the shafts for me were junk.

Customer Service

local golf shop (Puetz Golf Tacoma) was awesome as usual

My wife suprised me with the Callaway X-18's as a Christmas gift. Living in Michigan I didn't get a chance to play them until recently and hadn't even gone to a dome to hit balls. Yet the first time I hit the irons on the course I fell in love with them! They were so easy to hit and the ball jumped off of the face. I know it sounds like hyperbole but I was about 10-15 yards longer throughout the bag with my irons. I know this because I was playing on my neighborhood course. I am so familiar with what I usually used on certain holes. I was using the Taylor Made Supersteel Irons that I purchased 6 years ago. I am a Callaway guy from now on!

Nice clubs, nice feel when hit. Added 20 yards to all shots (possibly delofted?) Shots come off nice and straight. Shot shaping not bad for a cavity backed club. Not a big fan of the grip. Should have looked into shafts a little more but I expect these will help bring my score down to the high 80's due to distance and accuracy.

Bought them from Callaway pre-owned who apparantly are a seperate company from Callawy. The pre-owned customer service is poor.

Customer Service

Purchased from Callawy pre-owned on a red tag special which implies that quantities are limited and the price will not go down, well it did. E-mailed Customer service about this several times before receiving a rather snotty response. Lesson learned: best prices during boxing day week sale and red tag specials are meaningless.

I couldnt have asked for better irons. great feel and forgiveness. these clubs are very durable, they look great in your bag,the ball jumps off the club unbelieveably and a very comfortable set up position. 20 times better than my last irons and i can really see a difference. i highly recommend these clubs to golfers of any level to improve their game.

Yesterday, I played my first round of golf with my new Callaway X18 irons. First shot with a 5 iron exploded off the club face. The impact felt crisp and solid, but also felt smooth as butter. Shot left me dumbfounded. Never in the 10 years I've been hacking at balls, had I felt such a sweet ball stike with an iron. I had been playing Cleveland TA5 irons for the last 5 years, and was discontent with my mediocre play. I read a lot of reviews on this site before deciding on my new sticks. They are awesome. Best $650 I've ever spent.
Only problem I have now is recalculating my yardage. My distance has increased by almost 10 yards. I can even hit the 3 iron. I instinctively was going to place the 3 iron in the closet with the rest of the clubs I cant hit, but then decided to give it a try. Even the 3 iron was pretty easy to hit. I hit it better than my hybrids or 7 wood. I know it makes no sense, but they worked out great.
I got a much better feel with the extra weight and oversized clubhead.

Customer Service

Bought them from a pro shop. Good service

This is my third year with the X-18's. In my search for new irons I tried Ping G2's and TM Rac Lt2. Both were good, but none could touch the X-18's buttery feel. I'm 10 yards longer with each iron. I would suggest going for the 4-SW set and grab a TM rescue dual hybrid. I've tried a lot of irons and these have the best combo of feel and forgiveness without looking like a hacker's iron (Slingshot). Very important to get fit.

Customer Service

Very quick turnaround on a special order. Many shaft options without added cost. I'm 6'6" and needed extended shafts and lie bent upright. They didn't charge me extra for the True Temper TX-100 steel...much better than the stock steel shaft. Also had many grip options and I went with the GP Tour Velvet Midsize.

Bought these clubs this season. Played twice. Dropped about 10 strokes and have won about half the cost of the purchase price that I paid. Buy them.

Enough said!

I bought a set of X-18's Dec. 06 and while irons are the most inconsistent part of my game, I've forund that the X-18's are very forgiving and balanced well.
I've played Ping's for years and Mizuno but nothing is as forgiving as the Calloway's. I'd never trade my Titleist woods, but I definitely love the Calloway irons and would recommend them highly.
