I find these an excellent club, they are more forgiving than my TA5's and I would say a club longer. Not keen on the sand wedge but i kept my cleveland. Apart from that they perform really well. I can know draw the ball something I ha d always found difficult.

Model Reviewed: X-14 with Dynamic Gold shafts

I've never thought much of the X-14's big head and thick top-line, until I actually tried them. These irons go straight, far and high regardless where the ball contacts the club-face. They are about a club longer than my Eye2's and a lot more forgiving. Mis-hits lose little distance and end up not too far from the target. For someone who shoots in the 90's, I guess I should have started using these a long time ago. During the demo, I also tried the stock Callaway Constant Weight steel shafts on the X-14, but personally I think the Dynamic Gold R300 shaft option is a much better choice. The ball trajectory appears the same for both shafts but the Dynamic Gold gives you amazing feel. The only gripe I have about the X-14 is that the distance gap between the pitching and sand wedges is about 40 metres which the AW wedge still wouldn't be able to fill.

Customer Service

Callaway customer service over the Net is appalling. They don't even bother to reply. Their local agents here are pretty good and friendly.

These clubs get a lot of good reviews, but simply aren't the best out there. If anyone needs a gane improvement club, then it's me. I've played graphite shafted clubs and never had as many problems as I've had with these. I couldn't hit the green to save my life. My advice, if you want to buy these clubs DON'T GET THE GRAPHITE SHAFTS!!!! I already traded these in after just 4 months and about 20 rounds of play.

These irons are great!!! every shot was solid and straight and you cant get much better than that. I would recommmend these to anyone!! I think that if you cannot hit these irons you do not belong playing golf because they are so easy to hit.

I have owned the X-14's for about a week now and have mixed feelings about them. I love the long irons, especially off the tee. The design of the X-14 with the offset makes a straight shot, with maybe a small draw easy to hit. I am not as crazy about the shorter irons. They seem a little "blocky" and I don't feel as accurate with them as I do with a thinner blade style iron. If money was not an issue I might carry X-14's as my 3, 4, 5, and maybe 6 irons, and go to more of a blade with the shorter irons. Although I am not yet crazy about the feel of the clubs, I did shoot very solid scores on each of my outings. I have found that the X-14's do not put as much spin on the ball as other irons I have played recently. Shots that would hit and bite, or back up on the green, are rolling another 5 to 10 yards with the X-14's. I am a pretty good golfer, usually shooting in the upper 70's. I suspect the X-14's will find a more pronounced positive reaction with less advanced players, but clearly these can get the job done for anyone. They are not cheap, but have a great resale value if you decide to change clubs later.

Customer Service

Callaway Customer Service is as good as it gets. Used them numerous times with out ever having a problem.

Tried these irons along with a bunch of others the other day. I have grown up playing blades, but was willing to see if a "game improvement" iron could help me. Well, first of all I hated the appearance at address-looked like I was hitting with a shovel. Some say that this inspires confidence but I dont see how. Second, I hit these worse than all other clubs. No feel to them at all, and the offset was so severe that all I could do was hit a big hook. Definitely a high handicappers club. Also, sweet spot hits were nothing to write home about either. Definitely not recommended. An alternative view, I know, but if you are a serious player, or want to improve this is not the way to go. Super expensive too. For game improvement irons the Titleist 762 or MacGregor 1025C, or even Ping I3 are much better choices.

I took the X-14s to the range along with the Wilson Deep Reds as I was looking for more consistentcy, distance and forgiveness. Both clubs gave me the extra distance I wanted but the X-14s felt wonderful when you hit the ball cleanly, just like butter as they say and where much more consistent. I was playing the Supersteel irons but these are much better. For someone looking for clubs to improve your distance, with forgiveness and consistentcy I highly recommend these. They are pricey but well worth it. You can find them on ebay for 450-500 US.

Yes, these are fairly good clubs. The distance for me is about the same as everything else i hit (7 iron - 150-155) They are very forgiving and great feel when hit flush. Only problem experienced was that the offset is good for people who don't hit square but i find i hit a constant draw, sometimes too much for my liking. great clubs but for same results get Cleveland TA7 (sweet irons)
