I read all this stuff about not being a players club.Well I dont believe that. These clubs are great. The only reason more pros dont use them.Is they cant grind and custom shape them. That is the only reason pros like forged clubs. The x-14 p/s club is one of a kind.I hit my 6 iron 197 yds.Thats a booming 6 iron.Give these clubs more credit then that.I can shape the ball anyway I want.Low or high shots you name i can do it with these clubs.

Callaway X-14 Pro series, X-stiff rifle shafts. These are good clubs. My ball striking isn't wonderful and could be improved. I don't know if I'm totally sold on these, but I do like them very much. Main problem is that I can't change the lie and loft on them by myself. I don't like being stuck with a stock loft. I took these to the factory and they bent the lie for me, but not the loft. I'd like to get a little stronger 3 iron because I carry 4 wedges and need more of a 2 iron, but don't want the big gap between 2 and 4 iron. The feel is great and the feedback is adequate, but I like a forged club that I can tinker with and these don't offer that.

Customer Service

Awesome...Callaway has phenomenal customer service. They usually fix any problem and don't charge for shipping. Also, do a fitting session at their factory...it is worth it and gives great feedback.

I used to play with the Big Bertha irons, granted I wasn't playing golf very much so I never really go used to the irons. I'm sure my terrible swing and the irons being offset had something to do with it. Anyway, I sold those and bought the Callaway X-14 pro's with a stiff rifle shaft. I could not believe the feel of these clubs and how much straighter I was hitting the ball. I've since taken a few lessons and have greatly improved my game. I'm not giving these irons all the credit for my better golf game but I know I wouldn't be playing nearly as well if I kept my Big Bertha irons. If you can, I would go out hit these irons on the driving range and then find them on Ebay like I did. You can't go wrong with the X-14 pros.

Customer Service

Excellent to deal with. Top Notch.

These are great irons suitable for all levels of play. They look great and feel like a million bucks. They are bit expensive, but once you knock down a few pins you will forget all about it.

Customer Service

Callaway customer service is the best.

I wrote a less than favorable review about these irons about 6 months ago, but have since come to my senses. I switched irons to the Mizuno MX-20s earlier this summer, and really didn't like them. My distance control with the MX-20s was horrid, and I really didn't like the stock Dynalite shafts. My flex in the X-14 shafts is the same as the Mizunos, yet I hit the X-14s a full club further. More importantly, my distance control is MUCH better. My 7 iron goes 150 yards every time with the X-14s, but with the MX-20s it would go anywhere from 130 to 150. This was a definite case of "you never know what you've got till it's gone." The X-14s are back in the bag to stay, and I'm playing great with them. Forgive me, Eli, it won't happen again.

I purchased these clubs after a series and trials and demos with other sets that were very highly rated. I chose these clubs over the Hogan Apex Pro series. The reason I bought these was that I saw this set on Ebay in the right fit (+1" and 2 degree upright). After arrival, I have played 2-3 rounds and hit nearly 1000 range balls with. Overall, the clubs have excellent accuracy and are easy to hit. The rifle shafts and consistant weighting are nice. The clubs also have a very high flight pattern which I like since a low ball hitter. One issue I have with set is that there is an absence of "feel" that some forged clubs have, even select sets like Clevelands or Hogan cavity backs. One thing I would recommend is if in doubt of which shaft to get in these clubs, opt for the rifle shaft and get in stiffer than you think you can handle b/c the accuracy is ease of club hitting will increase overall game. Overall, I like these clubs but would not have paid the full $800+ for these if had option. Good deal used but new has some tough competition at the price.

First off.. i've read many reviews on the thread and many mentioned the how it hits shoots straight.. but the things is you have to be able to have somewhat of a swing to be able to use these clubs.. if you are just beginning, you should really start on some cheap used clubs rather than buying an expensive set. these clubs will only help you if you can hit the ball, i have seen so many people at the range and the course with expensive clubs but not know a damn thing about fundamentals... develope a swing first.. many begginers buy expensive clubs and only play once or twice then leave the clubs in their garage collecting dust.. ok now the review.. i have been playing golf for 2 years now and been playing with my father's old macgrecgors..(it doesn't even have a model number) all i know is that it has Jack Nicklaus Logo on it.. anyhow the clubs are 10 years old now and i've been looking to buy new irons.. i've read reviews and decided on the mizuno mx-11 or the x-14's i didn't consider the proseries but the pro shop on base only had the pro series available for 699 with stiff rifle shaft. so i demoed and liked it very much.. only fault to the set maybe the fact that i need a gap wedge because of difference in loft of the p and sw. shots are solid with good contact, but you can still make bad shots. most of the specs and the way the balls hit are very accurate in the previous review but i warn the high handicappers to keep working on the swing.. clubs don't make you better, only practice and repetition can make your game shine. i would also recommend trying the TOPFLIGHT XL2000 or the Mizuno MX-11 also, since many say that they provide similar results as the callaways... it seems when you buy improvement clubs that you buy a piece of mind for mid/high handicappers giving a boost of confidence..

I was a little worried buying these and being a high handicapper. Let me tell you these clubs are the real deal. They are long and straight. Even the mis-hits are straight. These clubs will have me consistently in the 80's before the end of summer, and hopefully I will get my goal of shooting in the 70's.

Actually, I have had bad experiences in the past at Golfsmith, but I gave them one more try and the sales associate that helped me was incredible. If you are in the Dallas area, I used the location on

Model Reviewed: X-14 PRO SERIES

For several years I have been playing with some irons that were constructed for me by the head pro whom I work for. I played well with them but because of the way they were constructed I was not getting any better. They were designed for a high handicapper which I was at the time he made them. I finally purchased the pro series irons 4-pw( I don't hit a 3 iron consistent enough to keep it in my bag) and it has been awesome. From the first ball on the range I could tell that these irons would be great. Now granted at first it's not real easy to get used to a new set of clubs however I saw a marked improvement in my ability to work the ball and feel where it was coming off the club face. For all those skeptics out there that say that Callaway clubs don't have enough feedback I say try these. They are not a true blade but you can feel mis-hits. The feeling of flushing these irons is incredible. Tight dispersion patterns as well. I also noticed increased distance almost ten yards per club There are alot of wonderful clubs out there nowadays. Nothing is much better than the next in your top line of golf clubs. These irons though are a great buy for mid-low handicappers. High handicappers might have a little difficulty with the less offset. The standard Custom Weight Rifle Shaft exclusive to Callaway is a great shaft. The shafts are flighted and are not too heavy. They do have other shaft options available from Royal Precison and True Temper so don't let that shy you away from these clubs. I reccomend to not go with the standard grips. They have a tendancy to not hold up for very long. That's not a knock against Callaway, it's just that there are better grips for these clubs and Callaway will put basically whatever grip on them you want. Overall I am very pleased with these clubs. They are an investment that is worth it.

Customer Service

Excellent staff and friendly. If the clubs your wanting are standard I would guess you would get your clubs in about a week. Custom orders may take longer.
