With no doubt, the best irons I have ever played. They do everything I want them to. I have never experienced this much control with an iron before. I had a set of X14's before and they were about 10 yards longer through the set but these irons are so consistent that they trump the regular X14's. No hot shots and no variation in yardage. If the 7 iron goes 160 with a good swing then it's going to do it time and time again. Deadly accurate. I am sold on the shafts too, I think the combination of the iron head and rifle shaft deliver a perfectly balanced iron. The shaft feels incredibly responsive and I can tell where the clubhead is all throughout my swing. I may sound like I am gushing over these irons, but they are truly fantastic. Accuracy is the name of the game and these irons have that in spades. Superb.

I've had x-12's, x-14's in graphite for the past three years. Saw and liked the pro x-14's right from the start. I was custom fitted at callaway for the graphite strong, inch over nad 2 degrees upright on my x-12's. I soon learned they were way too stiff and went to the x-14's with firm shafts an inch over graphite. I found that with the offset there was no way to work the ball as I got more used to the club, just a high draw. I absolutely love the look of the x-14 pros and the very little offset. I bought mine and took them to callawy right away. They went two degrees upright and an inch long in the stiff rifle. If you played with graphite and go to these, don't expect instant success. The swing weight is much heavier with the rifle shaft but as I got used to it, I really noticed the difference. You can work the ball much easier. Also the shaft just feels more consistant. I now wonder why I had switched from steel to graphite in my irons a few years ago? Just a fad I guess. I will give them time to develop before I give a full review. One thing though, if you like just regular grip size, the stock half cord grip seems a bit fat.

Customer Service

Callaway is unbeatable here. I live near Carlsbad which makes it convenient. I purchased my clubs at Roger Dunn who told me if I ordered them like I wanted them, it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get. I took the clubs to callaway, went two degrees upright, an inch longer stiff. They had them ready three days later at no cost.

My natural swing involves drawing and sometimes hooking the ball. I had bought a set of Ping i3 O irons which comes standard with the offset design. Don't get me wrong the Ping's are great clubs! Hit beautifully with the exception of the tendency for me to hit strong hooks. Sometimes strong enough to quack like a duck. Anyway I began to research and read many articles on the new equipment now out on the market. I decided to try the X14 Pro Series because they were designed with less offset which helps me shape my draw much better. The Calloway X14 Pro Series Irons are the set for me! I love these beautiful clubs. With very little offset and the smaller head design, I hit the ball with greater consistency. When I do over swing and pull the ball, it is no where near the wayward shot pattern that I was accustomed to. These clubs are just darn fun to play with! They definitely will benefit the better players and are really a pleasure for the average golfer like myself. The Pings were really good quality equipment. Anyone having problems pushing/slicing the ball would certainly benefit for the Ping i3 O size offset clubs. However for me and my tendency to draw, the less offset X14 Pro Series are a dream come true! Playing quality irons that suit your game makes all the difference in the world.

I am on the BYU golf team and I picked these up for the season. At first, I missed my 990's but I played two events and I can't believe how great these irons are. They are leaps and bounds more accurate than my 990's were. I still can work the ball as well as I could with those, but these have a better feel. I was going to replace the stock shafts with Dynamic Golds but after playing with the rifles I don't think I will do that.I held off a guy who was making a charge at me with me making five birdies in a row. I put a 7 iron to 5 feet made the putt, I put a 5 iron to 13 feet made the putt. Ran a 3 iron up on to the green and missed the eagle putt, tap in birdie, Hit an 8 to 9 feet on a par 3 made the putt, and finally hit a wedge in on a short par four and made a 20 footer. These irons are for real. I am going to go low this year. Mountain West beware.

I had some doubts about purchasing irons with reduced offset. I've played King Cobra, Ping eye 2 and ISI, X-12's and X-14's in the past and had pretty good luck with them (pings being the best). I decided to just try to pro series out of curiosity and boy am I glad I did. The reduced offset allows for more shot shaping, reduces my habit of closing the clubface to much and are very forgiving even on off center shots. Put any sort of good swing on the ball and it goes straight at the pin and the distances are very consistant and predictable. Had my shot of the year last week. Hit a 2nd shot 4-iron 230 yards to within a 20 feet of the pin, putting for eagle. Doesn't get much better than that for me. Give them an honest try, you will be happy you did.

I just traded in ping i-3 blades for these.. i was very fortunate to get a good deal on the pings. these clubs are superior to the pings on many different levels. these are very forgiving and very easy to hit. in fact i think the biggest decision maker is in the offset. if you slice the ball then the regular x-14's might be the way to go (be aware that the stock shafts in the regular x-14's are not very good). if you hit a draw or even a hook sometimes like me then these are the clubs to get. these are beautiful clubs that are very accurate and provide strong distances. I wish i was good enough to hit something like the mizuno's but if you are like me and the rest of the world and hit a good ball and play to enjoy the game then these can definately bring a good feeling to your bag.

Customer Service

without question, callaway is the best in the business when it comes to customer service

Model Reviewed: Stiff Rifle Shafts

Callaway has made a club that is easy to hit and looks great. The ball flight is medium high but when fitted with the stiff rifle shafts the clubs are very accurate. The club responds best when you take an aggressive swing. The feedback is not blade-like, but not as muted as previous Callaway irons.
Overall the best Callaway to date. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!

As a low handicapper, I think these clubs $uck. No Feel, No feedback, No workablity = No birdies. These are good if u lack consistency or can't hit a beach ball, now I see why these are popular with the older golfers and high handicappers. I play blades and the x-14 pro series feels like I'm using an aluminum bat (atleast the aluminum bat has more feel). I dont even like the new emblem. Sorry Callaway lovers these are for divot diggers.
