X-14 Pro Series - Stiff Shafts
As we say in the the UK - these are the business. Old X14 hit the ball way too high. These pro series have the shift shafts and provide a great strong trajectory whilst having a high peak flight point with the long irons. Didnt think much of the Sand wedge - you will not get me to part with my Cleveland Wedges. Still waiting on my 2 Iron Similar Products Used: None |

VERY FORGIVING CLUB. LOWER TRAJECTORY THAN MY COBRAS- THAT MAY TAKE TIME TO GET USED TO. BUT I DO LIKE THE WAY THEY FEEL & LOOK. TRIED OUT COBRAS, PINGS, TAYLOR MADES, AND MANY OTHERS AND THESE WERE THE BEST I COULD FIND. THE WEDGES FOR THESE CLUBS ARE HARD TO FIND- 6-8 WEEK BACK ORDER. Customer Service TO LONG TO WAIT FOR WEDGES 6-8 WEEKS Similar Products Used: ALL |

Great clubs. I originally wanted to purchase a set of blades for the feel and workability of shots, but ended up buying these based on the reviews in this forum. Believe me, I'm glad I did. My old clubs were DCI knock off clubs that produced a draw/hook with every shot. The x-14's are extremely accurate and have great feel. My first round out was on a par 3 course and I never used more than an 8-iron, but with each shot I was able to be confident and aim right at the flag. Every well struck shot produced a very straight, lazerbeam shot right at the flag. I anticipate my scores going much lower this year because of these clubs. The other reason I wanted blades was because of the feel in the short game, but the x-14's had a great feel too which helped my short game. Gave then a 4 on value cause they are pretty pricey compared to the rest of the market. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made ICW 5, Ping |

Without a doubt the best irons I have ever held in my hands. The less offset of the heads, rifle shafts, and factory cord grips are all you could ask for. Unlike many of the other reviewers, I have been a Callaway fan for many years. These are without a doubt the best irons Callaway has ever produced as they offer incredible forgiveness while allowing you to work the ball in both directions with ease. The forgiveness is on par with the Ping i3 O Size but the less offset of the Pro Series makes it a much more playable club. The rifle shafts are far superior to the weak Memphis shafts that Callaway has offered for many years. The shafts allow you to make a strong pass at the ball and produce a penetrating ball flight. The distance of these clubs are similar to the original X 14 irons but are much more consistent with a tighter shot dispersion. Truly an A+++ product in all facets. These irons are it. I have not used a better iron in my 23 years of playing golf. I have stayed away from Callaway products for the most part, I was turned off by the clunky looking heads. These irons are the first Callaways that look beautiful, not just play that way. The best part is they perform even better than they look. I can hit any shot I want and these give me the feedback I am looking for. Very accurate yardage that is incredibly consistent. Feel at impact is sound. Very solid irons. I will hold on to these for quite some time. Go demo a set. Similar Products Used: None |

Excellent Product! Callaway finally has a players club! Very workable. Distance is about average, but is quite predictable. No shots like with previous Callaways. Similar Products Used: Ping I3 Blade/ Titleist 990/ Yonex Forged Blades |

I bought these clubs after my 4th or 5th consectutive horrible round of golf. The very next day I shot one of my best rounds. I believe it was all mental. I was using the regular X-14 with true temper steel shafts. These came with the rifles. I've now played them for 2 months and believe they are awesome. I hit the ball really high with a strong draw/hook. I was told that less offset in the short irons would help keep the ball down. I figured less offset would have to help with the hook. It did. a typical 8 iron for me was about 140 if I steped on it. I now keep the ball at a reasonable height and hit an 8 iron right at 150-155 with a nice smooth swing. After the 7 iron I think the offset is about the same as the regular X14 but pw-7 it is noticeabily less. I wouldn't call them a players club. I think a beginner could hit them well. I just bought the 2 iron and am using it off the tee alot. These clubs are great. I don't think changing clubs helped my game. I think changing clubs will allow me to get more out of my game as I improve. The mental thing is important though. Standing over the pro models looks alot better than looking at all that offset. Youy just really know what your going to get with callaway. I tried the ping i3 blades and didn't like them as much as these. They were nice but not like these. I really tried to get away from Callaway but just couldnt find anything better. I just hope they come out with a forged blade someday. Customer Service I called about the shafts after having them for a month. They invited me down to get my swing analyzed. I did and decided to keep the rifles. They would have switched them at no charge. If you dont live in So Cal you can have your local dealer check you swing. Callaway will change shafts no charge. calloway X-14 Pro Series
Purchased the new set, 3 thru SW as I have recently tried various clubs. I am a steady right to left player, with occasional tendencies to hook left. I wanted a set of clubs with very little or no offset. These clubs have made an immediate impact as I hit the ball consistantly straighter. Took a little time to get used to the topline of the club. Calloway says it is thinner but it was still thicker than my Cobras. Club set up extremely well at address, and the "feeling" of the club is very good. They have a soft feel, except when I hit off center. The feedback lets me know I have hit it off center but the ball flight is better with only small off flight results. I have not hit these bad right or left. The .125 left offset has been good to me as I have never sliced balls. So local pro thought I didn't need offset clubs. My buddies who all shoot in the 70's love the looks of the clubs and with some better chipping and putting I will be in the 70s. I chose these also because they tend to hold their value better than many other clubs. Don't ask me what the reason, but I feel confident with these clubs and confidence leads to better shotmaking. I wanted the blade style with the cavity back and weighter perimeter. I am a solid ballstriker who hits 5 iron 180 yards. I will not say I crush these irons further, but I hit them solid, and they are more forgiving, and they seem to hit the same distance with greater ease....Good clubs! Quality is 5 stars but the price makes the value rating 4 stars Customer Service I placed the order as I had shafts 1/2 inch long standard lie with dynamic gold s-300 shafts. In 8 days I had clubs in my hands. Similar Products Used: The new Ping I3 Oversize and Ping blade and the Mizuno M33. I just am not a pure blade hitter with forged clubs such as the Mizuno, offcenter hits rung me up like a bell. The Ping blades hit well enough, but the X-14 Pro series had better feel for me. Plus the Ping heads with the dull cast iron finish just did not appeal to me either. I paid just $75 more for the pro series than I would have the Pings. |
