These are really nice clubs easy and long. I was surprised to see that some found a loss of distance. I have friends that found that they had more distance with these, as also did others on this board. I find that the distance is similar to my old eye2/ However, the long irons are so much easier to hit/work that there is just no comparison. Price is stiff, but quality is just unbealivable. A great set, the best I have played. I had to get the wedges too because I found it difficult to switch back and forth to smaller and differently weighted clubs. T

I bought these along with ERC II drivers and boy was I wrong. I've played golf for over 10 years and the only thing consistent about my game is the distance. I've lost 20 (that's TWENTY) yards per club. The game became a hard game all of a sudden (imagine shooting a 7 iron into the green at 150 yards all of a sudden became a 5 iron shot)...not good. The clubs are forgiving, but nothing is worth losing yards for. In two games since using these clubs, I've GAINED at LEAST 10 strokes per game. If you want these clubs, try them at a range or borrow your friend's before spending $1,000+.

The VFT's are beautiful clubs. However, they are too heavy for a high handi capper. Have lost (1) club in distance over the King Cobra's, due to the slower swing speed. Unless you're consistantly in the upper 90's mph swing speed, I do not recommend the irons. A big investment for yardage loss.

I purchased a demo set of Hawk Eye VFT's after trying numerous other iron sets. I found these clubs extremely forgiving and accurate. I have a fairly consistant swing and all I have to do is aim, swing and the ball goes where I aimed. Consistent distance and a lovely feel of the club face. Apart from playing fairly serious golf (4 handicap), my first priority is to enjoy my game, no matter what. With these clubs I cannot but enjoy the game and consistantly play good rounds! If need to, the ball can be worked, but with my game I mostly go straight for the flag. The most enjoyable set of irons I ever played. A set that can be enjoyed by all level of players, from pros to high handicappers.

Customer Service

Excellent - the shafts on the 3 to 6 irons was slightly bent. Callaway SA replaced the shafts for free within one week.

Easiest iron to hit on the planet, period. Ball flies long and high - for better players distance control can be a problem. Also, the VFTs lack any feel - it is one "hard" iron. However, if you want the most forgiving iron available, the VFT is for you!

these are for high handicappers huh? sure, i told my buddy that i thought he was trying to buy his game, but when i hit his 3 iron, that was it. game over...bought my set the next day and have got to say, if long high and soft landing shots are what you''re looking for, then look no further.

just played my 5th roound with these and now i''m convinced. all 5 rounds have been in the mid 90''s, whereas before i was lucky to shoot in the low 100''s. they are almost 1 club longer than my Pings were, but they drop so softly on the greens that they stay put to where i can make 1-2 putts and done. laser like shots are becoming more of a reality for me now than ever before. real confidence builders are what you experience with these birds. Callaways technology has put a new weapon in my hands, and if anyone can''t hit em, then they need lessons. a lot of the shots i made with such high success is also due to the forgiveness of these irons.

Customer Service

excellent.

Perhaps the easiet club to get airborne. However, I leaves much to be desired regarding pin point accuracy. In the wind, they are impacted poorly because of the high trajectory. The shafts are only medicore; if you are a regular you may need a stiff shaft. If you are a stiff, then you make need a extra-stiff. Get fitted if you buy this club. Good but not exceptional distance. Over-hyped and over priced. I switched to Ben Hogan Apex Plus Forged. What an improvement. The biggest myth out there is you have to be a single digit golfer to hit a forged club. Maybe that was true ten years ago, but not today.

Previously played Ping I3 O size. Those where so good that I held on to them after I got the VFT''s just to make sure that the Callaways were going to work out. The VFT''s are far more forgiving. The Center of Gravity is much lower; the ball gets up with little effort from any lie. The Callaways hit the ball much higher, but are one club longer. Hitting a 4 iron is like hitting a 7 iron. Predominate ball flight is straight to slight draw. These have got to be the easiest to hit irons on the market. They hit such big soaring hits that each shot becomes an adventure. I like the Pings, but the VFT irons are technology taken to another level.
