I have never hit an iron that is easier to get airborne. The trajectory of the ball is high to very high; however, you to do not loose length. These clubs are long, straight extremely forgiving and predictable. I like the feedback of the club when used with the Callway CTU Blue ball. The VFT irons reduces the chance for failure with a bad shots or mis hits. If your home course has a considerable amount water, as mine, you want these irons in your hands becasue of the ball flight. The go up high and straight, land stop then dead stop or back-up. Heads and shoulders above the X-12''s, Tungsten Titanium or the old Callaway irons. They are significantly better the Mizuno Comp EZ''s because of the forgiveness with less than perfect strikes and the scoring trajectory of the irons. Impressive sticks.

I gave myself a good break-in period prior to offering up this review. I had these made 2* up, 1" long and with 6.5 Tour Flighted Rifles. The reason I went from a set of Hogan Apex +''s was to gain more forgiveness (I was tired of working 2, 3 and 4 irons at tight pins with a club that required a dead center-of-the-club hit to be successful). Although I had thought I may have to give up some feel and accuracy for the added forgiveness, I couldn''t have been more wrong. The VFT''s are just as accurate and loads more forgiving than the Hogans. The distance control is great, and predictable. The short irons impart plenty of back-spin (something I hear was lacking in the previous offering). And, the long irons are the easiest I have ever hit. The occasional off center shot doesn''t get punished as much, no mater what club you use. The only problem I have had is getting used to the little bump and run pitch shots with these. The ball seems to take off. Practice will correct this. All things considered, I am very happy with the change. I received more forgiveness, without sacrificing anything. I would have given two "5''s", but they are pretty expensive....so a "4" for value.

(I reviewed these on the Golfopinions site a month ago, so I will revise it here.) I have owned these for two months (I also have TA3 ff, sold the x-14 ps ) and purchased these with steel shafts. The things that I love about these irons are they are very, very, forgiving, you don''t go off line or lose much distance on off-center hits and thin shots seem to go full distance with the appearance of a "stinger" . When you do hit it on the screws, it feels and sounds very crisp and more solid feeling than last years Hawkeyes (would not buy them) and feel better than even my pro series. Ta3s feel lustier but die a quick death on non sweet spot swings. I now instinctively grab my 3 or 4 iron without grabbing my five wood and have good results. The short irons are crisp, fly high, land softly on greens and are a major improvement over any past renditions. I have taken major greif from my blade buddies (How dare I play spatulas when I have "real clubs" at home?). Still taking lessons but these irons made playing more enjoyable for me. I will take the shame of enjoying point and shoot golf with lower scores. What is interesting is that when my TM 300,TA1, and I3 blade buddies see them they laugh until they try them. They love ''em and want to keep hitting them and comment that "err... these are much smaller looking than last years" as they easily blast 3 iron 230 yds. Maybe it is all the lessons but I can tell by my divot or ball flight and somewhat by feel at impact where I hit it on the face. Not to dismiss sweet "feel" shots with my TA3s but I would rather have the increased GIR.
