I had been playing the X-12's for about two years. I got the Hawkeye's used off the internet. I loved my X-12's, but I got to tell you these hawkeyes are something else. It did take a couple rounds to get use to them, but you could'nt pry them from me now! The long irons come in high which to me is worth the money! However the I got these used and I would have a hard time coughing a grand for eight clubs. Similar Products Used: 845's, X-12 |

Designed for the high handicap golfer but so what! Besides, trust me, you still have to hit them. They are by no means automatic and can be harsh if you do not hit them near the sweet spot. On the other hand, I have hit some of the most pure shots with these irons (long, high, and with a perfect draw). I do not like the wedge (it is not undercut and thus harsh). I have replaced it with a more traditional wedge. On the money side, they are expensive but have a high trade in/resale value. You have to look at net cost since you won't have these forever. Given that, they can be the least expensive. Similar Products Used: None |

Just upgraded from my X-12's to the Hawkeyes. Beautiful looking clubs, but the thick topline will take sometime to get used to. The trajectory of these clubs are much higher than the x-12's, and balls land much smoother onto the greens. Although easier to hit than the x-12's, it's not justified to spend the extra $$$ for the upgrade. If you have the x-12's, keep them. The x-14's and the hawkeyes are not that much different. Remember, it's your swing not the club. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-12, Callaway X-14, Taylor Made LCG |

HAWKEYE IRONS
I BOUGHT MY CLUBS IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. I MUST ADMIT I BOUGHT THEM MOSTLY ON NAME AND CLUB DESIGN, WITHOUT EVEN TRYING THEM. FOR THE FIRST 7 OR 8 ROUNDS I THOUGHT I MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE, AND WAS ABOUT TO SELL THEM. I WAS ABOUT 10 TO 15 YARDS SHORTER THAN MY OLD IRONS. BUT THEN, I CHANGED THE BALL POSITION & STARTED USING WHAT I AM TOLD IS BASICALLY THE TECHNIQUE USED IN THE GREG NORMAN 'GOLF SECRET' (KEEPING THE RIGHT WRIST IN WHAT FEELS LIKE A COCKED POSITION COMING THROUGH THE BALL) AND MY DISTANCE IS BACK. NOT ONLY AM I HITTING THE BALL AS FAR, BUT ALSO MUCH HIGHER WHICH CAUSES THE BALL TO HOLD BETTER. THE THICKNESS OF THE HEAD TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO. BUT I NOW THINK THAT I MADE A GOOD PURCHASE. I USED TO BE ABOUT 155 WITH A 9 IRON AND 220 WITH A 4 IRON. NOW I'M ABOUT 150 WITH A 9 IRON AND 210 WITH A 4 IRON. BUT MUCH HAPPIER WITH THE TRAJECTORY! Similar Products Used: POWERBILT TPC |

Ho-hum clubs. My local driving range let me try them out on a bucket and all i can say is that they are not worth the $$$. Their performance is good, i must admit, but only lacks feel even with steel shafts. These clubs make an excellent status symbol. Similar Products Used: Ping i3 blade, O-size |

These clubs are very nice. They are very easy to hit, and excel in all catagories. If you can afford them, I reccomend giving them a try. Similar Products Used: None |

I tried these clubs for 5 rounds at Pinehurst. The irons look unwieldy, but hit beautifully. Have used Ping Eyes for 20 years, but these clubs are at least 1 club longer, higher trajectory, more bite. Customer Service No experience. Similar Products Used: Haig Ultra forged blades 1969 model. |

I love these clubs! I was shooting in the high 90's and on the second round with these clubs I shoot my first 89. Five rounds later I'm an 80's player and just keep getting better. Similar Products Used: Ping I3 |

Callaway Hawkeye 2* flat, Regular graphite shaft
The clubs looked nice but I did not enjoy them at all. Ball flight was too high, shafts were much too soft. Could not control distance or direction. Very difficult to play in windy conditions. Went back to my old S2H2 w/M10 steel. My daughter is now using them and seems to hit them pretty well. Thinking of buying X-12's or 14's... Similar Products Used: Callaway S2H2 |

To everyone who says these are for mid to high HC, I'm glad I didn't listen! They took me from shooting in the 100's to low 70's. Great length, feel, spin, and workability! If they are only for high HCs, they I guess I can live with the shame, while I hit every green on the course. Hit them, Believe them! Customer Service Haven't had to worry about it Similar Products Used: You name it, I've tried it! |
