I have played the original BB irons for 8 years and felt it was time for a new set. Tried Hogans and Demo lots of others but never could match the Berthas until...2002 Berthas..I can work the ball either way, ball flight is high but a little back in the stance and knockdowns are a breeze. They are approx 5 yards shorter than my orginal Berthas but with the steel shafts I have found them to be more accurate.(Fair trade) An ideal club for mid or higher handicapper but a low 0 to 5 should not overlook them. Last thing if you shoot in the 80,s 90,s or 100,s and insist that you hit your 9 iron "150 easy" or Driver "300+" stop writing here and get on the PGA tour...with that imagination you will do well!!!!

I purchased the Callaways after reading the reviews on this site. When I first played them I thought they were great but after about five rounds I began chunking them. When I hit them well they are at least one club shorter than my Tommy Armour 855's. I do think the ball flight is higher than some other irons I have played but I am dissapointed in the distance. They seem to be short for my swing.

Ok, have come up with a definitive review for these irons, since I wrote the last posting on Oct. 4. The 3,4,and 5 irons are great; very easy to hit! 6-10 and sand wedge give up accuracy as I suspected. So, I'm going to use my Pinseekers for 6-PW and the Callaways for long irons. This is basically what the Adams IDEA irons set up to do. I believe more and more iron sets will be marketed like this. Anyway, having both sets will allow some experimentation.

These clubs are a good....alternative! Why do I use the word alternative? After my driver started to fail me, as well as fairway woods and I climbed from eighties to nineties. After taking these out to the range, I knew the distance would be there, so I decided to take them out to the course. I love the four iron in this set. I split the fairway all day, hitting 15 of 18, taking easy swings. I used the four iron for the second shot as well on longer par 4s. Ended up shooting a 91, and had four putts that lipped out! The short irons did give up a bit in accuracy; my pinseekers are slighty more accurate, for now. Still breaking in the Big Berthas. Anyway, I will play with these for awhile and would recommend these irons to players looking for forgiveness and to those of you who may struggle with the woods, like most of us do from time to time. My playing partners kept telling me, "You have to play driver...." I'd chuckle when they'd send one 240 into the treeline and I was 200 and in the middle of the fairway.

This is a great set of irons for all level of players. I play with friends that range in handicap from 7 to 37 and they all love the way they look, sound, and feel. They are super forgiving. I have lost a little distance from my last set of irons, but more then made up for it in accuracy. I love to tee of with the 3 and 4 irons on tight fairways. Nice high ball flight. Easy to get the ball up in the air so that you can attack the green from any distance. I highly recommend these irons.

I picked up the BB 2 iron from a friends bag on Monday and smoked my first tee shot around 220 yds. He offered to lend me the club and I have since played eighteen holes shooting my equal lowest score 83 with an eight on the final hole in fading light. I used the BB off the tee and fairway and hit some fantastic long straight shots some not much shorter than my driver! I am going to replace my long irons 4, 5 and possibly the six iron with the BB equivalent but keep my Hogan CFT for the short irons as I prefer the look of the head and they also give plenty of feel and perform excellently.

All I can say about these irons is that they are the longest, straightest, highest most forgiving irons I have ever played. I have owned Kig Cobra II, Pal Joey, Mizuna, others. I recently added a 3 iron to my bag and I hit it approximately 225-240 yards off tight lies. It makes an awesome sound at impact. None of the other irons in the set make quite the same sound. Almost resembles the sound of a fairway wood. I like the 3 iron so much I just orderd a 1 iron for tee shots off tight fairways and have taken all my woods except driver out of my bag. Callaway did it right when they desiigned these clubs. They will help any type golfer in my opinion. I am hitting the 10 iron (pitching wedge) about 135-140 yards and exteemely high. They also help put spin on the ball. Last, I went from a high nineties golfer to a low eighties/ high senventies golfer this year. I credit these irons and the will to play more and play better.

I had a set of this last year. I found that the iron heads were too chunky and difficult to hit from less-than-perfect-lies. This year, I traded them in for X-16 - cleaner line and the head size is less obtrusive - balance of forgiveness and aesthetic.

The favorite club in my bag. I use it off the tee (230-250 yards, just short of my driver distance). It has the sweetest feel of any iron I have ever it. I also use it out of the fairway instead of a fairway wood/metal and it works great for that unless I have a thin lie (too much sole to get any loft). I have played many rounds without a driver or wood and never felt like I gave up any distance since I got this club.

First of all let me say that I think these clubs look great. Just purchased them today after returning a set of Tour Edge. I could not hit the tour edges consistently and they hurt my fingers on my right hand. No problem with the grip just something about the steel. I tried four different clubs at the store not knowing anything about any of them. And the BB's felt great right away, shot after shot. Purchased the uniflex steel shafts bought them home and gave them a run. I was immeadiately impressed with the consistency and accuracy of all shots. It will take a little time to get use to the 10 iron concept. But considering how well these clubs hit the first time out after struggling for a month with the other set, it will be no big deal. All of a sudden golf is fun again. What a great set of irons!
