I'm not a good golfer, I started with forged blade...I was felling I love it since begining. Excellent distance and accuracy.

Worst clubs ever. Stay away from these. If you are a skilled player, I would recommend you look elsewhere. Personally, I use knight irons, the absolute most wonderful clubs ever (I hear tiger woods uses these).

After years of thinking I needed a cavity backed club I decided last year to try a forged blade set. Immediately the feel and look of the Hogan Apex convinced me that I had been wasting my time with those gimmicky loaf of bread on stick looking mallets that do nothing more than give you the thrill of getting your ball airborne. My swing has never been better. The Apex is so true that you are able to groove your muscle memory so that finding the sweet spot is effortless. I have given up absolutely no distance and I am able to shape shots with the greatest of ease. Shot shaping is something that was nearly impossible with the dreaded cavity backs. The Apex is a club for purists. Folks like my self that think golf carts should be outlawed. And weekend players should have to qualify to get Saturday and Sunday tee times.

If you love golf and have a decent game, you'll want the satisfaction of hitting great shots. I was playing with knockoffs for 5 years, only broke 80 four times. With the Apex Plus, I've already broken 80 after 2 rounds. I've hit shots with these clubs I could not fathom with my old set. They cost money but are well worth it, when you consider you won't need to purchase another set for decades. A properly hit shot results in a straight and long trajectory. I probably hit 10 to 20 yards farther with each iron and the feedback is just incredible. You know when you've hit a perfect shot, you don't even have to look up. They say Hogan's are not forgiving, maybe with the older blade, the Apex Plus still sends the ball out there even though you can feel the ball was not struck well. These are the nicest clubs I've ever owned performance wise and aesthetically, very nice to look at. Can't wait to get out there this weekend!

Have you ever looked at your clubs and kissed them? Well neither have I until I purchased the new Apex blades. I was unsure if I had the swing, but I just said f#ck it, I can always sell them if they don’t work out. I am pleased so say that I am hitting these far better than my old Edge GS Hogans. Setting up to the ball and the popping it just seems easier when you have less of that clunky cavityback mass there.
The other wonderful thing is the weaker lofts on these clubs, you can just fire at the pin and the ball just sticks. Do yourself a favor and get some blades and go to the range. I decided to challenge my swing with blades and I know have a much smoother swing and tempo, the blades will put up for nothing less.
My philosophy is that if you want to become a better driver get a Ferrari cause it will teach you how to shift, use the clutch and steer much better than a Cadillac. Besides, when was the last time you kissed you clubs – no tongue of course.

Customer Service

I spoke with Hogan for 20 mins about their clubs, very friendly and knowledgable.

The Apex line of irons has long held the reputation for quality. My experience with my Hogan Apex PC's has been nothing short of outstanding. Would strongly recommend buying a used set and refinishing them if you have the game. The Ben Hogan Muscle Back PCs are the purest blades ever made. These are not for hackers. But someone who knows how to swing the golf club

When I first purchased these clubs I was pretty upset. The ball came off the club pretty hard, and I couldn't understand why. So I reshafted my clubs and with riffle shafts. They improved so what, but they were still "tingled" when I hit them. So, I thought I give them one more try before I buy another new set of irons. I reshafted my clubs and put UST graphic shafts and I'm in love. They are the sweetest clubs I've ever owned. I didn't think shafts would make that big of a difference, but it did. I highly recommend this club with the UST shafts. I'm one "happy camper".

I've had these for about a month now. Super clubs. I ordered them from factory fit to my specs...lie angle adjusts beautifully. Easy to hit down through 4 iron. 3 iron is a little harder...good clubhead speed is a must. Overall, easier to hit than people think, soft fades and draws with small set-up adjustments.

Customer Service

Custom set of irons took about 2 weeks to receive. Pretty fast considering shipping takes something like 5 days.
