Ben Hogan Apex Plus Irons

Ben Hogan Apex Plus Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Ben Hogan Golf: "When Ben Hogan introduced the first forged, perimeter-weighted irons in 1989, he built the club some said, "couldn't be made." The "impossible" combination of perimeter-weighted forgiveness and forged feel. This experience, technology and innovation shapes the Ben Hogan Apex Plus. Many golfers have aspired to play a Ben Hogan Apex. Now, the perimeter-weighted Apex Plus provides an appreciably larger sweet spot across the face of the club, from heel to toe. Off-center hits will go longer, be more accurate and just happen to "feel" a lot better, too."

These clubs feel incredible. Solid. They feel better, go farther, and are more accurate than my previous clubs (DCI Oversize Gold irons), but don't sacrifice much forgiveness at all. Combine this with their general look and standing over them at address, you just know you are going to hit a good shot.

I agree with the English guy who wants babies. Except I dont buy all the talk about these clubs being unforgiving. I love them, they are worth every penny I paid for them and I would advise anyone with a decient swing to buy them .

these clubs certainly look good, but if you are looking for stroke saving capabilities--look elsewhere. these are for those with a pure rythmic swing-consistent. low caps only.

If golf clubs are able to have babies I want these to have mine. When the connection is good it feels like I could only imagine heaven would feel like. They are not greatly forgiving, however when you hit that sweet shot you know they were worth the money that was paid. The ball has a purposeful boaring trajectory through the air. When it hits the green it stops, and FAST.
They are almost definitely the most beautiful golf clubs on the market.
If you are a good golfer looking to get better I woiuld highly recomend these clubs.
I can't believe that I actually considered buying something else.
Worship these Clubs.

These are pure. You hit it bad, they tell you but don't punish you very much.
You hit it sweet and you want the feeling to last forever. They look better than anything out there. Had the best round ever so far with these when I shot an 87. If you want an iron that will make you get better, these are the ones. That sweet spot feeling begs to be repeated over and over.

When my son told me that he wanted my old Nicklaus Irons I was thrilled. He took them which allowed me to buy the Hogan Apex Plus. Not only are these the nicest LOOKING irons I've ever seen, they're the nicest FEELING irons I've ever hit. I also got a great deal on them ($599). I will say this, If you are a 10+ handicap, you might have trouble with these irons (they're similar to a blade iron). If you're in the market for irons and you're a decent player, the Hogans are for you!

I wrote a review back in May when I first bought my Hogan's and I gotta say I'm even more satisfied today with my purchase. I've been breaking 80 regularly (as long as I'm putting well) and recently bought their gap wedge to fill that awkward distance between the S and E wedges. Hogan sent me a gift two weeks later for purchasing the club. That's class. I went to the range with my previous set(knockoffs)one day just for grins, and I gotta tell ya, it was like swinging a shovel, the feel and weight balance was non-existant. Fortunately my Hogan's were not far away! Buy'em, they are the best irons on the market.

What an incredibly noticeable difference. I switched to the Apex Plus from a set of Big Bertha irons. The difference is like night and day. The feedback from the club is amazing.
On the long irons I am able to work the ball more, on the short irons I am able to dial in on the pin and chipping is far more accurate.
I have never played with a forged club; I will never play anything but a forged club for now on.

If you are a low to mid handicapper that is intimidated by playing a blade, try these clubs you will be amazed. I plan on playing these irons until they de-grove.

I have used the Hogan apex plus irons with a "4" graphite shaft and these are the best irons I have ever used. I have added more distance with these irons, as compared to a set of Taylor Made irons I previously used. I have also purchased the 5208 and 5612 wedges and found these to be superior to the Cleveland wedges that I previously used.
