Ben Hogan Apex Plus Irons

Ben Hogan Apex Plus Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Ben Hogan Golf: "When Ben Hogan introduced the first forged, perimeter-weighted irons in 1989, he built the club some said, "couldn't be made." The "impossible" combination of perimeter-weighted forgiveness and forged feel. This experience, technology and innovation shapes the Ben Hogan Apex Plus. Many golfers have aspired to play a Ben Hogan Apex. Now, the perimeter-weighted Apex Plus provides an appreciably larger sweet spot across the face of the club, from heel to toe. Off-center hits will go longer, be more accurate and just happen to "feel" a lot better, too."

Best feeling irons I have ever hit, when hit anywhere around the sweet spot. About 1/2 club shorter than I am used to, also ball flight is more fade than I normally hit, but very accurate. I am a 15 handicap, and probably need to be about 3 points lower to really like these. These will be my long term clubs that I "grow into".

Customer Service

Hogan sold me the 4-E, without a 5 iron, because I got it as a demo club earlier. I thought that was good service that I didn't have to buy the normal 3-P.

I am playing these for about 1,5 months now and am getting more and more confident with these irons in my hands. The feeling of the clubface is incredible if struck well and feedback is immediate..not to even talk about the stunning looks. Defenitely have a look at these beauties if you consider new irons. HIT THEM LONG ANS STRAIGHT !

I have to tell you, I have played alot of different irons in the past three years, but nothing even comes close to these. I read all of the other reviews, and saw alot of people said they were 1/2 to 1 club shorter? I don't see how. They are a full club longer than anything I've ever played (962's, x-12's, MP-9's, Mizuno Grads, Taylor Made Oversize, Ping ISI). They have a great feel and are surprisingly forgiving on mishits (which we all have from time to time) They are significantly longer and more forgiving than the Mizuno's I've played (Mizuno is the only other forged club I've played other than a few rounds with a set of Titleist tour model blades). The price of $750 with steel shafts is a little bit steep in today's market, but worth every penny.

I have never felt anything quite like this ion golf before. I want the ball to draw, it draws. I want the ball to fade, it fades. I want to hit the ball high, it flies up. I want to knock the ball down, it does. These irons are so solid, that I won't ever try another product again. Hogan is the company for me. If you haven't tried these irons, and you are a solid ball striker, give these sticks of PURE BUTTER a shot. I promiss that you will well your clubs and get these right away.

The best mix of feel, forgiveness with the consistancy and trueness of forged irons. The specs are perfect.

Customer Service

Excellent. Hogan makes all Irons Custom fit & Custom made. Took one week. Go with Dynamic Gold or Rifle shafts.

EVERYTHING!!!!!! My local pro says the 90% of the clubs he sells are out of spec according to the manufactures specs. For example he took 3 sets of Callaways out of the box and each set had different loft and lie angle for identical clubs. These clubs were perfect!

Well, these are amazing irons. I have been looking a long time for the feel and the look that these clubs delivers. I knew from the first moment I hit the sweetspot that I would buy them. Was a little anxious about the stiff shaft in the beginning but its working really good, dont even think about getting the regular shaft (3) if u are a pretty good ballstriker. Either its the clubs or its me, but Ive improved my accuracy and probably my lenght a bit too, but its hard to tell as Ive just hit them on a inside range...
great clubs, and buy them if u can afford it!
