i am a 15 year old golfer i practice 5 times a week my dad got me these clubs because he thaught i was ready for them my opinion is that they are great clubs but they are not easy they have exeptional feel but if you want to improve your swing i recomend these for you i have only had two problems the paint comes off very easely and another problem is that they have very low trajectory but other than that i love them they look great and they feel great Customer Service havent tried it yet Similar Products Used: titleist 990 |

A great club for the 7-12 handicapper. These have great feel, nice trajectory, and are fairly workable. They let you know when you''ve missed the sweetspot, but don''t punish you too much. Not as forgiving as Callaway & Co, but much more accurate. Not as workable as a blade, but much more forgiving. Like I said, right in the middle, great for 7-12 handicappers. They are on sale now at TGW.com, so a GREAT value! Similar Products Used: You name it, I''ve tried it. |

Truly a great set of clubs. I''ve swung a large number of sets, and these babies just feel pure and clean. I love the traditional look, and the extremely solid confident feel. I feel like their modified blade design really gives them a great balance of forgiveness and workability. When you hit these clubs right, nothing feels better. And if you hit them wrong, they won''t shatter your arms with feedback like many traditional blades will do. I would highly recommend these to a low to better-mid handicapper. If you''re not confident in your game, I''d probably look for something a little more forgiving. My only real complaint is that they are so beautiful I worry about scuffing them up! Customer Service Haven''t had to call on them yet. Similar Products Used: Titleist DCI''s were my last set. Have played with many others over the years. |

Bought my Apex Plus'' 2 1/2 years ago. About 6 months ago I got a set of used Honma CL 170 blades, and played several rounds with them, but never quite got used to the "negative" bounce on the soles. I went back to the Apex Plus, and realized just how good these clubs really are. They have all the workability you need and they are just as straight and penetrating as you could hope for. You do need to practice and develop a consistent swing that makes good contact. If you don''t have that, these clubs won''t help you. But, if you are willing to put in the effort, then the Hogan Apex Plus is all you will ever need. Will they get my game into the 70''s? Nope. But some short game practice will Similar Products Used: Taylor LCG, Honma CL-170 |

I bought the Apex Pluses w/ Apex 4 shaft in the spring of 2000. I had no intention of buying the Hogans. I had used Hogans in my youth and wasn''t that keen on some of the harsh feelings I had from marginal contact. However, the pro recommeded the Pluses... and I am glad. Now I know what a good shot is supposed to feel like. I grew up on forged irons --- Hogans, Wilsons & Rams --- and wasn''t sure I could still hit a forging. I was wrong: the Apex Plus irons are the real thing. The feel is great; the result is even better. I control distances much better and the accuracy is exceptional. I even got some Hogan Special wedges and what a match w/ the irons. If I could just get rid of the occasional hooked driver... I am currently looking for another set of Hogan Apexes as a back-up Customer Service Two years -- no need. The paint is still in the right places. Bought the irons in November, and my index has gone down from a 23.3 to 20.1. My previous clubs were Taylor Made Firesole, Cleveland VAS+, and Ping Eye 2+. None have the feeling of the Hogans. I didn''t gain any extra distance, but the quality of my range time improved since I had immediate feedback with mis-hits. Because they are now discontinued, prices have come down. |

I am a once or twice a week golfer who shoots in the low 80''s. I am a fairly long hitter who was looking for more control. I have always played component clubs because of the price and the opportunity to custum fit myself and experiment with different shaft/head combinations. I had already made myself two six irons (Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro and Golfworks HP Forged with DG300 Sensicore) and was trying to decide which I was going to make into a full set. About this time I hit a 5 iron Apex Plus in a store and fell in love with the look and feel of the club. When I found them online for $399 I couldn''t pass them up. When I took them out to the course I had some trepidation about being able to hit the club, especially the long irons, as I had always thought that these clubs were more for low handicappers. As I played, my feelings went from relief that I could hit them to excitement about how well I was hitting them. I just played my second round with them - hit 14 of 18 greens, was never offline be more than 3-4 yrds, and shot 33-38 -- 71 for my first under par round ever and my best ever round by 5 shots. The way the clubs look at address helped my alignment and the feel of the clubs during the swing and at contact helped me feel what I needed to do to make solid contact. These are unbelievable clubs!! Customer Service No need to use them yet. Similar Products Used: Maltby HP Forged Goflsmith Tour Cavity Pro Kinetic C.E.R. Irons |

I never thought I would play forged clubs. I went in to the golf store looking for Ping Eye 3''s, luckily the salesman grabs several other models including the Apex Plus''. I fell in love, these are so smooth and not too harsh on off-center hits. I ordered off of a dutch auction on ebay and got these for $389 BRAND NEW. I can''t wait to get these. This is an update to my earlier review. AFter playing one round at an indoor simulator during which the clubs performed great and defenitely gave you feedback when you hit it wrong, I noticed that the red paint had worn off my SW. I had seen someone else''''s review where they noted that and thought I was stuck with the problem. I contacted the company and they picked up the club by courier, fixed and returned them in less than a week. I was very impressed with their commitment to customer service.
