I have waited to give these clubs an honest evaluation. Have now had about 30 games with them. I am a Hogan fan, and this is my fourth set of Hogans, have had Medallions, Magnums, and Edges, in the past. Bought this set with #4 graphite shafts. Did take them to a PGA clubmaker to have the lies adjusted. Love the ball flight and workability of these clubs. I do have a serious question for the Hogan people. ONCE A ROUND, OR SO, THE BALL SHANKS HORRIBLY. IS THIS A FACTORY DEFECT, AS IT HAS CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONFIDENCE WITH WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT? If this happens any more I will be forced to trade them on something more predictable. Customer Service My complaints are with the quality control of the set as the numbers have lost their red color but will paint them myself as this doesn't affect the workability. I took up golf in March this year, and is now a confirmed addict of the game. I play two to three times a week. Liked the look of the Apex irons after I found out that blades are not that hard to hit and they give me more distance and that feeling you get when you hit it right. Wanted to buy a set yesterday, but the store clerk hinted that it will be cheaper today on account of a sale. So went back and lo! they took 50 per cent off. I had the sweet dilemma of choosing between the pure blade Apex and the Apex plus because they were the same price. After much agonising opted for the Apex plus. I find the irons as advertised with the added bonus of being easy to hit as my previous Mizuno cavity backs. but my only problem is that I find their distances quite bunched up. I can find little difference between the seven, six and five irons in terms of distance. but then again maybe its me. Love these irons if only just to look at and admire. I golfed with Mizuno T-Zoid Trues for a couple of years, and while I loved the feel of forged clubs, I never really felt a 'connection' with them. Bought the Hogans (with Hogan #4 shafts) last fall, sight unseen and based on reviews available at the time, and have never regretted it. They're forgiving, and give me a higher trajectory than previous clubs. They're also a source of pride in the way they show in my bag, and their beauty holds up round after round. After 4 sets of clubs in 8-10 years, I finally feel like I've found the clubs I'd always wanted. The only thing I might have done differently had I known at the time is to get them with Rifle shafts from what I've heard since. But I love the basic club the Apex Plus is..... |

I have a problem with these irons that I have never had before. I have had titleist, callaways, hogen apex plus, diawa, snoopy irons, and some old sticks I got at a swap meet in my sisters old neiborhood down the street. The problem I seem to be having is the shaft gets stuck in my mullett. I sure it's not me or my swing, it has to be the club. Be careful if you sport the tennesee waterfall, these sticks will mess you up. |

After using the same cast clubs for 15 years, I swore that when I bought new, I’d demo every iron out there and get them properly fitted. I was looking at the Pings but they looked so odd when viewed at set-up. Based on feedback on the net from owners, I bought these without even hitting them. After short transition period on the range, played my first round and beat my best score by 7 shots (playing partner said it was my irons that were the difference). Based on feel, these clubs told me that I usually hit most of my shots just to the toe side of the sweetspot (old clubs didn’t tell me anything). Hit these too far out on the toe, though, and you’ll hit some weak shots. I’ve made a minor adjustment, and now hit them sweet most of the time. Superb feel when hit properly, yet you’re not penalized severely for hitting them wrong. I'm a high ball hitter, so I haven't noticed any lower trajectory like many have mentioned. Great set of irons I’d recommend up to the mid-handicapper. Like the company’s motto says, these clubs will give you “a feel for your game.” Customer Service None required so far. Just bought these clubs after an Ebay auction ended without the clubs being sold. $300 for 3-PW in near new condition with Apex 4 shafts, 1" overstandard by the factory. When I first pulled them out of the box I kept calling them "jewels". They are such a good looking club you almost hesitate to hit them. I grew up on forged clubs but haven't played them in about 10 years. I have been playing Maxfli Revolutions, which are great clubs themselves. It took about 1 day to get the feel of these clubs and I have never looked back. Great feel, a good club longer than the Revs, and a solid feel at impact. I have even liked the Apex 4 shafts. My only complaint is the offset in these clubs. Doesn't fit my eye, but the rest of the club is "gorgeous". They just keep feeling better and better. It is hard for me to imagine ever playing another iron. It is one of the few clubs that actually makes you feel like a better player just by owning them. The golf trader I went to said to me that these are the clubs you might want if you are planning on lowering my scores. Couldn´t be more correct! Solid feel, wonderful design (shines beautiful in the sun) and good outcome from good shots and quite forgiving for out of zone shots. Similar Products Used: Top Flite XL 2000 |

These clubs do one thing well - suck the money out of your pocket. Every time I have tried to hit these it feels like a thousand yellow jackets sting my hands. I have been playing for years and never had a club give such poor results. One time it hooks and another time it slices, there is no consistency. The clubs will never get the ball high in the air and the low irons are useless. I am going back to the Dunlops I bought at Wal-Mart so i can get my game back on track. Enjoy and give them kudos if you want, but you guys are suckers just like me! Customer Service Never used it Similar Products Used: Hogen, Callaway, Titleist, Armour, Cleveland, KZG.... |

Beautiful irons! Played with Titleist DCI oversize + for many years. Decided to go with forged clubs and went with the Apex Plus without demo-ing them first. Just went with the reviews. Not a problem hitting them. The feel of striking the ball seems so pure with these clubs. Distance is actually longer compared to my old Titleist DCI''s. I did have to have the lies bent to fit my swing. I also would have purchased a different shaft than the Apex 4 shaft. Probably will reshaft with Rifles pretty soon. Customer Service Not applicable.
