Unbelievable feel and balance from first swing out of the box. I tried the demo 6-iron of this club and the Ping i/3 Blades. Both hit the same distance, but no comparison in trajectory--the Hogan's fly higher and produce a steeper arc than the Ping's. Off center shots suffer more distance loss than expected, but on center shots fly two clubs further that DCI Oversize-Black that I was using. And yes, they are forged--the feel is like a hot knife through butter. I hit a 250 yard 3-iron of the 18th tee and it feel as though I just hit a cotton ball. Best feel and best performing club out there, and they don't look like canoe paddles. Buy 'em.

Excellent clubs - great balance of cavity forgiveness, but extra "muscle" on bottom gets some mass behind the ball for well struck shots Trajectory control amazing for cavity backs....equal to the macgregor blades vip blades i was using 7-pw

PROS: Best forged one piece cavity back irons on the market. Comfortable setup. CONS: Less forgiving than oversized irons, but negligible. Only a bad swing could ruin your day. THE BOTTOM LINE: Serious about improving and adding fun to your game. It took me a few rounds to find the grove, but it was like finding a new me. BUY THEM! RECOMMENDED: Yes The Edge Pro's are the irons that are in between the Apex Blade and the Apex (oversized) Edges. The Pro's are smaller than the Apex Edges. Their topline is thinner with a narrower sole and reduced offset which makes them akin to a blade, even though they are a cavity back iron. They are US made and are a one piece forged iron. I was very impressed with their craftsmanship and the Ben Hogan Companies attention to detail (before making my purchase, I visited the Ben Hogan website and viewed a video explaining the complete process for making their irons. Very informative and aided me in making my decision - http://www.benhogan.com). I purchased the irons with the No.4 Apex steel shaft which is the stiff flex. Standard length and lie(same length as Ping irons by comparison). At first, when holding these irons and swinging them, they felt pretty light and I was afraid they might be too weak and wouldn't hold up to my swing speed or perform to my expectations. I have played these irons exactly 4 rounds and couldn't be happier. They are very eye appealing on set up, so this in itself inspires confidence. The Hogan Apex steel shafts play stiffer than they feel and react much like a Rifle shaft. If you top one or hit one a little too thin, you may get a feeling similar to hitting a rock, but it won't sting. If anything, they give you immediate feedback to let you know to concentrate more on your next shot. I found hitting a shot off the sweet spot produced almost the same distance as hitting the sweet spot with my Ping ISI WRX irons(when you hit a shot off the sweet spot, you may lose some yards depending on your swing speed and power). The shot dispersion or pattern will still be tight enough so you will be able to recover on your next shot. Hitting these irons on the sweet spot is a feeling that will make any golfer beg for more. Once I found it, I couldn't put them down. These irons fly. If you're looking for height and distance, these irons are it. The first time I played these irons, I about to h

Ordered these sight unseen. Rifle shafts, 2 iron through 9. E, 56, 58, 60 wedges. The first ball strike told me the story. Fantastic!! Started the season at a 16.4 index. Since recieving these clubs the index has dropped to below 10. As a second year golfer these clubs have really excellerated my learning curve. The previous burners I owned were fine however, the hogans are longer. Full club. The E wedge is now my 150 club.

I have found the Golf Gods at last....They are stashed away somewhere within the confines of the Ben Hogan Golf research facility....These Irons gave my game the trajectory, distance, and control that is unmatched by any of the other clubs that I have tried....They literally took my score from High 70's to scratch.....They are simply a very easy club to setup to, and when the ball falls far from the short grass....You got one hell of a weapon to come out of the rough with....Titleist 681 feels like a butter knife off the tee, and a spoon out of the rough in comparison to these babies, I got so excited after first hitting with them I even bought a 1 and 2 Iron, lovem both! I hit further with these clubs than any other.....Titlest681(7Iron)=150 yards, Calloway x-14 Pro- Series (7Iron)=160 Yards, Hogan Apex Edge Pro (7Iron)= 175 Yards, and consistent.........no bull....I thought there had to be a reason why a 300 yard Drive off the tee, could not hit a 7 Iron further than 150 or 160 yards.....Its the Irons baby, they make a difference. I even hit the regular Apex Irons further than the others, and almost as far as these 170 yard (7Iron), Hogan is where its at...SHHHHHHHHHH!

I have just completed the first month of play with my new Apex Edge Pro irons. (8 rounds of golf and 8 practice sessions at the range)I could not be happier with my decision to switch to these irons. Whereas the Apex Plus was developed for the low to mid handicapper with, I believe, an emphasis on the low, the Apex Edge Pro is certainly beneficial to the mid handicapper. Those playing regularly in the eighties and low to mid nineties will feel very comfortable and confident playing with these irons. Of particular inprovement over the Apex Plus is in the ability to get the 3, 4, and 5 irons into the air. The long irons are a dream to hit from any lie. How about the 3-iron that I struck WAY!! out off the toe that comes up only five yards short of the target. That is what I call forgiveness. Or how about the 4-iron I creased 215 yards straight down the middle from the tee on a short par 4. I looked up and saw the face of Ben Hogan smiling down from heaven. I do not want to leave out the other clubs in the set. These irons just instill confidence right from the setup. The head appears slightly oversize but not so much so that it becomes bulky. Standing over a shot, I know I am going to make solid positive contact. Let me conclude by saying that I am a mid to upper eighties player (84-89) 40 years old. The group that I regularly play with still have a little too much testosterone pumping through their veins so that we always have to play from the tips no matter what golf course. So I regularly play 6700-7000 yard courses and of course this puts a premium on long iron play. These Apex Edge Pro irons have given me a better long iron game and the confidence to perhaps achive the Holr Grail of golf...regular rounds in the 70's.

Now here comes the best part, hitting these irons on the sweet spot is a feeling that will make any golfer beg for more. Once I found it, I couldn't put them down. These irons fly. If you're looking for height and distance, these irons are it. The first time I used these irons, I made a hugh drive off the tee, but landed in some medium height grassy rough. I had approximately 145 yards to the center of the green. Normally, especially with my Ping's, I would use one club stronger. The Ping irons have a wider sole and leading edge. The rough usually has a tendency to catch and turn the club head. Well, this time I went ahead and stayed with an 9 iron. The iron cut through the rough with no problem. In fact, I shouldn't have swung so hard. Not only did I get out of the rough easily, I flew the green with a slight draw by 12+ yards. I knew then I had to rethink my game. I am quickly learning shot distance and correct iron selection on the fly. I can use less club than normally, and it's really exciting to see your long irons go straight as a laser beam without trying. Hitting draws are no problem. Of course, a good

I'm a bit bored on the existing MacGreogr Master Iron set I bought when I took up golfing a year plus ago. I decide to switch to better irons, which can provide me with more long penetrating flight, and I've tested some from my friends set,and of course the showroom deomo set. I've tried Callaway X-14,VFT Irons. They are more forgiving, but are not telling you clearly on the feel of a good hit. I've tried Apex Edge,it is more forgiving, but distance is shorter,so does the Apex Plus. The Apex Edge Pro is not as forgiving as those big club face type, but the distance and flight once the ball is being hit on the sweet spot is magnificent.I really like the forged ones,it will tell you more on how you hit a ball, well better than those cast-iron type. Now,with the same swing,I can hit 165-175 yards with a 7 iron, compared with 145-155 yards when I used the old Macgregor Master series. The ball trajetory is amazing high and penetrating. I just bought Apex Edge Pro days ago, after having a satisfying round of practise at the driving range,I couldn't wait to put those shots on golf courses.
