I've played Apex blades for about three years. I loved the feel and playability of these irons and was hoping I could get the same out of Edge Pros but with a little more forgiveness in the low irons. I took them to the range a couple of times and played a couple of rounds. I grant that this is not an exhaustive test but I was looking for some specific and similar performance criteria. I had access to hit some Apex Plus clubs at the same time for a side by side comparison. I really wanted the Edge Pros to wow me. However, for what I was looking for, I thought their feel was too muted and, somewhat oddly, since my swing errors tend to go left, I had a lot of trouble making a nice gentle draw with the mid and low irons. It seems that the Pros are more of a point-and-shoot club that tends to go straight or promote a high fade. In terms of forgiveness, the Pros were a little more forgiving, particularly on thinned shots, relative to distance. Directional forgiveness was not really any better, even worse. Set up was nice, with the limited offset with a peak at the muscleback in the lower clubs providing confidence. The topline was a little thicker which I found a little distracting but could probably get used to. While the spec sheet says the swing weight is the same as the Plus, it did not feel the same. I felt the head more in the Plus, which is my preference. However, this made the Pros feel lighter, which others may prefer. In the final analysis, it came down to feel on a well struck shot that, at least for my game, the Pros don't compete with the Pluses. As a result, I found some used Pluses to join my bag. Looking for my very first set of clubs I came across the Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro (BHAEP) at my local golf store. I have been trying my way through most of the brands on the market and In the end I decided to take a closer look at: Callaway X-14, Taylor Made 300 Series,BHAEP and Ben Hogan Apex Edge (BHAE). After a while it came down to HAEP or HAE. I have at the time of writing not decided yet but I think I will go for the BHAEP and keep on working on my swing. The sensation when you hit the ball right with the BHAEP is absolutely worth practicing for, even if you are beginner. If this is the case for everybody, I don’t know but it definitely is for me. For all you out there seeking for the right club I can only say, keep on testing clubs, the difference is bigger than you think and only you can decide what’s best for you. And don’t be afraid to test clubs that peopled tell you are for better players only. /Regards Johan Similar Products Used: Tested: Callaway X-14, Taylor Made 300, Titeleist 8220, Callaway Big Bertha.... |

When I was a kid I played Hogan irons among other brands. I got caught in the Callaway thing for a few years and traded in my unhittable Hawkeye irons for these clubs. Apex 3 shaft and no adjustments for my height-right off the shelf. Never have I had such immediate improvement when buying clubs, within 2 rounds I looked forward to hitting the dreaded long irons off the deck. They feel excellent and look fabulous. Laser straight shots and piercing ball flight are trademarks of these irons. I'm hitting one club less than the Callaways and enjoy making birdies again with the excellent short irons. Hogan has once again nailed it and I for one am glad they did. Welcome Back!!!! Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Hawkeye and Titliest irons |

If nothing else, these irons inspire confidence.. I bought the Apex Edge Pros with a Dynamic Gold steel shaft and some other modifications for my height and such. The feedback I receive is simply unbeatable and I've really got my confidence back in terms of shooting straight. I know how far and where I'm going to hit them when I stand over them. Love 'em. Customer Service Haven't used yet. Through Spalding, so I'm not sure if that's good or bad.. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-14's, Hogan Apex Edge, and Callaway Big Bertha irons, |

Decided to purchase these clubs based on reviews read on this and other review sites. I had not hit these irons previously. I found a new set on the net for $460. I felt, compared to the new set price of $750 that most on-line retailers were charging, that I couldn't pass them up. I also felt, following the reading of the Hogan website's description of who these clubs were designed for, that they were made for my game. These have the Apex #3 shaft and I couldn't be happier. I had previously been using the Rifle 5.5s. These compare admirably. The feel is smooth and well balanced. My accuracy has improved immensely. My distance with these irons has also increased at least one clublength on all irons, even though the lofts are not any stronger than my old irons. Head design? Shaft? I don't know. But I definitly would recommend these irons to any low to mid handicapper looking for point and shoot abilities. One thing to keep in mind though. I did have to order their 50* fairway wedge to fill the gap between their 46* E wedge and my 56* sand wedge. This was no problem though, because I just removed the old Snake Eyes 2 iron from my bag as I'm hitting my new Hogan 3 iron the same length. Customer Service I e-mailed a question to Hogan about warranty. They e-mailed back 3 days later. I also ordered a fairway wedge. It was shipped to my door in 2 days. I didn't expect it for at least 10 business days. Similar Products Used: Mizuno MP-14, Hoffman Bailiwick CB1s, KZG forged |

I decided to get the hogan apex edge pro after noticing that they had a smaller head and less offset than my mizuno mx20. They are solid and just as long as the mx20 but with a more penetrating flight..don't get me wrong the long irons are easy to get up. They are forged and the feel is more lively than the mizuno which I thought were very soft...The hogans have a very nice clicking sensation. The best thing about these clubs are the 8,9,and pw.. The best short irons in the game in terms of feel, accuracy, distance control and trajectory...plus they are much smaller than the mx20 short irons... I am impressed with the performance and the looks are definitely a killer classic..I got the apex 3 shaft and it is just fine.. Similar Products Used: ping i3, mizuno mx 20,callaway x12 |

The best club I ever have. Smooth and uniform fell on all clubs. The long Iron is very easy to use, the short irons are very deadly. I don't even have to use my putter sometimes. I wish golf is played with irons only. This is a club that will bring any high and mid handicaper to a new dimension of golf towards being a scatch player Customer Service No yet use Similar Products Used: Titliest 962, Maxfli Revolution |

Great set of stick! These offer enough game improvement features to help anyone but also gives you enough game-playing features to allow you to work the ball left or right. If you're trying the new titleist clubs or the mizuno mx-20's and callaway x-14's, try these. You can't go wrong with them. Customer Service Haven't had to use them yet.
