I have not played a round with these clubs yet (snow on the ground). I have gone to lower elevations and hit at driving range (WOW)!!!! Can actually hit my long irons. Could not hit my 5-3 irons in old set consistently. Crushed the Hogan 3 iron consistently and haven't played for 5 months. I hit the ball high anyway and the wind that was in my face made balls fall short of intended target quite alot. Feel and accuracy make up for this problem. I hit a set of 1989 apex irons several years ago and loved them but hate the feedback if you didn't hit it dead center--not a problem with these clubs. Off center hits still provide adequate length. Hope the snow melts soon as I want to pummel my golf mates with these new weapons.

The happiest day of my golf season was the day I traded these clubs in for some Mizuno mp33s. Prior to the Hogans I played Titleist 990s. The 990s had amazing trajectory- I should have stuck with them but I did not like the way they looked in the bag...Anyway the Hogan is visually beautiful I hit it at the golf shop and fell in love...With the look...Silly me...I lost 1 club in distance and they hit the ball so damn high that any wind murders the shot. Possibly a good club for a mid to high handicapper looking for a high soft ball flight. Low handicappers stay away.

High and straight only. I found it difficult to work the ball or alter shot trajectory consistently.

As compared with my previous set, directional accuracy has been greatly improved, may be it's the contribution of rifle shaft. Center hits are soft and sweet, but off-center hits will be severely punished by lost of distance (at least 2 club shorter), hit sounds are also different! For a 100+ golfer like me, it's uneasy to find the relatively small sweet spot all the time! Long irons are easier than expected, and personally has even better feel than the short ones. Ball trajectory (especially for short irons) is higher than expected. I don't know why, but the shiny club head surfaces are easy clean, ball marks can be easily removed by towel. Also the shiny surfaces do not easily get scratched as expected. As a conclusion, I lost distance (No.7 iron down from 140 to 130 yards), but gained accuracy. It's quite a good choice if you look for an advancement from game improvemnet irons. No regret for the purchase! Another good set I thought of is Mizuno Comp EZ or Comp Plus (bigger club face i.e. may be more forgiving than this set).

Just bought a mixed Set 3= Apex Edge 4-7 Apex Edge Pro, 8-9 Blades Wedges, Rifle 4 Shaft Wow, what a feeling, like hot knife in Butter if you hit the Ball ( V1 ) in the center. Otherwise is just like a punishment for a bad stroke ( lets you concentrate more on the next ball. ) Started with 16,8 dropped to 13,4 playing now in the low 80's. Very solid craftmanship, nice looking great feel, superb feedback. A little overweighted Head with the first strokes ( had X14 before ) but felt very comfortable after a while. Slowed my swing a little bit down but my accuracy improved though. 8+9 Blades ??? fantastic.. even got backspin on the ball. What a feeling when you hit the center. Nice easy swing and dead on the flag ... whoa Should give you a try ...best clubs out there in my opinion.

I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to hit these beauties but I was wrong. On all my other sets, I always leaked the ball right. Not a fade or a slice per say but the ball would always take off right, flying straight (I attribute it to too much offset). Now I hit a nice draw (@140 yard 8 iron with about 1-2 yard movement to the left). The ball takes off in a reverse arc until it hits the apex. The feel is unlike anything I've used. Soft, very soft and buttery smooth is the only thing that comes to mind. The best shot come from a nice easy swing. I've tried hiting ProV, Strata, Callaways and Topflite balls and the best feel comes with the Strata Pro Distance with the ProV comming a close 2nd. Game improver? Yes! From a mid 100 to a low 90. I expect to lower my score even more as I gain more confidence. Now if I can only find that magic putter and driver!

Mate, these clubs are absolutely superb. Solid, long & tolerant. Very soft feel at impact hence improved control. The most impressive thing about these clubs is the flight. The ball stays up there and continues to climb. I have improved my game dramatically. A good round of golf is all about confidence and the Apex Edge Pros certainly helps you to feel confident about where your shot is going to end up. Perhaps the only downside is that if you miss the sweet spot the club lets you know. My advice when using the Apex Edge Pros is that don't try to force the club just make sure you swing smoothly and let these clubs do the rest for you!

Ok, i just got these clubs 2 days ago. I played 18 holes today. I gotta tell you that these clubs are so solid, very long, and have a soft feel to them. I had just switched from the x-14 pro series, and there is just no comparison in the look and feel of these irons. I would highly reccomend. But I would say, u must be a pretty good ball striker. These clubs have little offset and the forgivness is pretty good, not the best. But when you hit the sweet spot, man the ball just flies. Hope this helps you all! :)

Model Reviewed: Apex Edge Pro #4 steel shaft

I've hit most all of the latest cavity back forged clubs out there, and these are one of the best , if not the best, out there right now. Really forgiving for having such a clean classic look. They are super soft and yet super solid at impact. From looking at all the sole weight one would think shots would balloon and go too high. This is not the case, however, the club produces a nice boring trajectory that rises up to an optimal height then drops down softly. These clubs are long and easy to hit long. Power hitters will love this club--the faster the swing the more the ball rises and just seems to keep going and going. This club is notable more solid than other forged irons I've hit--seems like no matter where you hit the ball on the clubface the club just powers through the ball with nary a shudder. Even balls hit high on the club face feel solid. The club sets up well with a moderately thick top line and the offset is not too extreme to the point that workability would be adversely affected. Very well balanced and easy to put a good swing on the ball. It's really hard to find any faults with this club, other than I think it works much better with the #4 shaft than the weaker #3 shaft. Even at slower swing speeds the #3 shaft(all the Apex shafts have a low flex point) just does'nt do a very good job at stabilizing the relatively heavy head--maybe a TT DG R-300 with it's high flex point might serve slower swingers better. Anyhow, I just love this club, and would recommend it to mid and low handicappers--particularly to those that just like to cream the ball. Clubs just don't feel any sweeter than this one! Check it out--highly recommended
