Awesome clubs. Finally getting my draw back after hitting knockoffs for several years. These are awesome clubs. I added 10 yards of distance with my pitching wedge, and really have to work at not hitting a 100 or 110 yard shot 120 yards with it. Recommend these clubs to anyone. Price has really come down since I bought mine May '02. Keep head covers on them, but don't put them up wet...they will discolor.

At first, I thought they were impossible to hit- but once I started swinging throught the ball I got better results. I still have trouble not hitting the long irons fat or thin, but shaping the ball (especially a draw) is much easier than with my older cavity-backs. Nothing feels as good as a properly-struck draw 7-iron right on target with these babies. And the looks? Dead Sexy. The gold accents on the back of the clubhead looks sharp with my copper-plated Cleveland wedge. Can't decide whether to get another copper Cleve or a matching Hogan Wedge to complete the visual.

Recently bought the apex pros. Ihad been playing the ping 1-3 blades for the past two years. Both are nice clubs. Hogans heads are bigger and better weighted than the pings, but he pings are about 8 yards longer. The forged feel of the pro's make them a better club. If distance is a problem stay away from these. If you are a good ball striker these are the sticks for you.

Played my 6th round with these clubs and im getting exactly what i wanted out of these clubs. I play to a 5 handicap and wanted something more consistent than my X-12's. I had no problem hitting greens with my X-12's, but i wanted clubs with more feedback and clubs that i could shape my shots with, something with better distance control with no hot spots. Wanted to take that next step to get better. Narrowed choices to MP33's or this set. I think i hit the jackpot! Distance control is excellent, feel is awesome, shaping shots no problem, and looks are very pleasing. Looking at these clubs tells me "hit me" all over it! Its a quality set of clubs from a quality company who has stood the test of time. From wedge to 3-iron there are no surprises, planning on getting the 2-iron also. Awesome set of irons!!!

I just recently bought these clubs and i loved them right away. I used to use an Oversize set of taylor mades (my dads) but wanted more accuracy. These clubs feel like butter when u hit them and if you have a decent swing they have such a nice loft even with the 3 iron. If anyone is going from an oversize set of irons to a mid size i would buy this set. The forgivess is not that bad, my friend who's a total newbie at golf cant stand the clubs. But i would say anyone who has been playing for more than a year and half should invest in these clubs.

Excellent clubs, sweet soft feel off the face. I'm a player who has always favoured woods and struggled with the irons, especially long irons. Not any more, these clubs are great, I didn't used to carry a three iron cause I just couldn't the thing and therefore never used it. Not anymore I'm rifling the three iron in this set. These clubs are especially great if you hit the ball a bit thin, very forgiving, fat shots are another story though. Because these irons are forged, they are very consistent in terms of distance, which I really like. Never see the ball suddenly jump an extra 10 metres and fly the green on me. The graphite shafts are also very good as consistent as any steels I have used in the past. Overall I am very happy with these clubs, easy to use and best results of any clubs I have tried or owned.

I shoot in the high 80s/low 90s with Old Big Bertha irons/graphite shafts. I was looking for a steel shafted, more workable iron to take my game consistently into the 80s. After testing Taylor Made, Ping (ugh!), Callaway, Cleveland, etc., I tried the Hogan Apex Edge Pros. 5 shots at the range convinced me. The ball flight is straight, high and true. Distance is extremely consistent, even if 5 yds shorter than with my Callaways. As far as slicing goes, I think I'd need to drink a fifth of whisky to slice the ball with these clubs. These aren't "helper" clubs. You need to really swing at the ball. Not "power" the club through the ball, but make sure your arms and hands are loose enough to move the clubs quickly though impact. The most difficult adjustment was actually learning to trust my swing, and swing freely w/these irons. I just went to Myrtle Beach last weekend, and shot a 90 1st time out in 5 months! I expect to be in the low 80s by the end of the season.

Model Reviewed: Hogan Apex Edge Pro

I bought the Apex Edge Pro irons, had them properly fitted by my local driving range pro. I was looking to make a step to a "player's club", to make the step towards becoming a much sharper, more focused golfer. Since I'm a mid-handicapper (15), I didn't want blades/musclebacks, but was looking at these new forged cavity backs as my next iron choice. Feel: After many demos, I was torn between 2-3 irons. The Hogans were overall the sweetest, easiest to control, straightest hitting, and the best looking clubs that I tried. After 3-4 months of ownership, I can say I'm very pleased, when struck well, these clubs ROCKET off the clubface, with a nice, soft, forged club sensation that I truly enjoy. There's NOTHING like the feeling of a forged club properly struck - this is what golf is all about, that feeling is wonderful. The Pro's hit very straight, and once properly fitted, a good swing will be rewarded with that sweet forged feel - if you want a real treat, play with a soft, wound ball like the Titleist Professional 90, and you'll see what I mean - sweeeeet! Another iron I like quite a bit is the new MacGregor V-Foil 1025-series forged cavity backs. They hit every bit as well as these Hogans. Looks/Aesthetics: These clubs are stunning. One of the most beautiful clubheads I've ever seen, and I enjoy just pulling them out of the bag at night to stare at them! Setup, topline, profile, are all wonderful - a beautiful club to look at, minimal offset, which I like. What a shame they ding so easily (see below). Forgiveness: The Pro's are not nearly as forgiving as the Callaways I came from, but off-center hits were not that bad, especially when compared to other full blades or other forged clubs. These clubs are really geared towards someone with a stronger, more powerful, grooved swing. Dislikes: Ok, there's one major beef I have with these irons - they DING very, very easily. If you look at older Hogan clubs, they're terribly beat up, from that very soft steel getting dinged so easily. Just banging around in your cart will cause many, many small dings all over the face and back, and hosels of these clubs. What a shame that you must compromise these tremendous looks to such ease of destruction - I try to keep iron covers on them, but they still get dinged up easily. Caution: Don't keep the covers on when the clubs are wet, they'll cause the iron heads to discolor, and perhaps even rust. Once you get home, take the covers OFF, clean/dry the clubs, and keep them inside your house to avoid damage. For heavens sake, don't leave them in your trunk for extended periods of time.

I bought these edge pros after previously playing titleist 762. The feel is great. Whats not to like from a forged ben hogan club? The playability is good but i had trouble hitting cuts but that mostly my problem not the club. The head is slightly oversize for my taste but still extremely playable. Irons are "normal" length maybe slightly longer. The club is very forgiving allowing mis hits to not be too bad. Good club for low to mid-high handicapers.

I have struggled finding an iron to fit my game for the last 6 years. I spent the last 10 months hitting every majoe mfg club on the market as well as a few component clubs. These clubs are wonderful, great feel, they work the ball well, extremely consistant.
