After a twenty year break from golf I decided to start again but needed a new set of clubs. I have always used blades in the past and found the current crop of cavity backs impossible, but stumbled across these blade type clubs at the back of a store. I have been using them for 2 months and i am shooting in the low 80's. Great feel especially in 8,9,P and SW. 5&6 excellent balance easy to shape a shot (especially the draw) One criticism would be the 3 iron... too much cavity. But it is a small criticism. These are beautiful clubs, with good feel. Used with good course management and PGA lessons these clubs will help you shoot low.

Short version: Go buy it now for new at tgw.com for $299 because it literarly changed my game immediately. Long version: I normally shoot in the 110+ on white tees. Need to replace my very old 12+ years and very heavy set and was asking around. Got this as used but as a gift from a relative of mine. Two days later, stood on the blue tees, with some rain, and shot a respectable 98 at one of the regular local course. Hit a 4 iron shot dead on the sweet spot from the first cut rough 190 yards! Could be the constant moment of inertia and the progressive offset that made this set forgiving. OK, time to call my teaching pro and ask for the lesson again on actually working the ball. The pitching wedge is literally a blade and my chipping is very good because it gave me feel and distance control. I chipped closed enough twice to 1 putt at that same game! May be I could have gotten the same results with new Callaways, Pings, etc. because of my old set but why pay more? If I could claim that after a few more rounds, I could get even better. But, as with this crazy game of golf, I will hold on for such claim later on.

These clubs have the best feel I think of any clubs out there. Switched from offset cavity backs, I think it was a good decision, has improved my game. The blade is great it lets you work the ball great especialy in the short irons. When you hit them good, their nothing but butter. Great spin even with some firm balls. Balls land softly on the green and stick. Look great, feel great, spin great, good workability, great clubs!

Perfect club for the golf loyalist who doesn''t want to hit "at" the ball with an aircraft carrier, but who wants to strike the ball with a smaller, more traditional blade. I hit the Taylor Made LCGs (not a good club), Titliest DCI 990s (very good, but too much $$$), Cobra Gravity Backs (not enough feedback), and the Mizuno MP33s (too much feedback, as in you better hit it pure or it won''t go). I liked these the best. By the way, don''t use a distance ball with these clubs. You get much better feel and control with a normal ball.

After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give these clubs a shot. I love these clubs. I''ve had some trouble consistently striking the sweet spot (but that''s is because of me). The ball seems to fly ok with the mis-hits, but I know these clubs aren''t designed for inconsistent ball strikers. When I do hit the sweet spot, the ball has a really nice flight and they are about one club longer than my old set. The feel i get from these clubs is amazing and the best asset. I think these clubs are going to make me a better golfer, because of the feedback you get from every hit. I now know what a "grooved" swing is. These clubs force you do swing like that, or the distance just won''t be there (but these clubs teach you the "grooved swing"). The short irons have great feel, and I''ve been hitting a lot more greens than I used to. I highly recommend these clubs to any decent or better golfer. You must be a consistent ball striker, or willing to work to become one to reap the benefits of these clubs, but boy is it worth it. These clubs can be found new for cheap now. Got mine at dick''s for $300.

GREAT IRONS!! Played a full cavity back set before this. The EVOs have a more boring trajectory. About a club less for me. PW-130, 9-140. First round I played them I hit 6 GIR on the first 9 holes. Find myself teeing off with the 3 alot..good for about 230-240. Can''t really find a flaw with them. If you shop around I see them for $299 now. Grab''em FAST!

Saw these for a steal at $250 (3-pw) and had to have ''em. I am definitely NOT disappointed. I''ve been so used to the bigger clubface and huge offset of my old sets of clubs that I thought these would be hard to hit. This wasn''t the case, I hit the ball better with these by a long shot.

Purchased these irons at the biggining of 2001, influenced somewhat by some reveiws here. Have used them all season, and have been extremely happy. After using Fat Shafts for about 5 years, I can now hit a cut shot again, or a draw. The evos looke a little small at first, but what a difference in my game. Green in regulation is up, and my hadicap has gone from a 12 to an 8.8 index. I hit these irons straighter than any iron I have previously owned. Now that they are being clearance priced for about 300.00 they area a steal. In addition to being very functional, they are also gorgeous to look at. I am very happy with these irons, and don''t plan to change anytime soon.

None needed. The teardrop bankruptcy and purchase by Gen X has created some changes. Get these V-31s while you can!

I usually shoot in the high 70''s, low 80''s. I have a tendency to swing very hard at the ball. I picked these up at a second hand golf shop because I was fed up with the ping isi''s I had. This is a very good club. Don''t let the blade look fool you, these have plenty of forgiveness. The long and short irons are easy to get used too. The mid-irons took some time but they finally came around. My 3 iron is a legitimate 220yards. The p wedge I feel is very strong and accurate. I have never had a hole in one but have come closer than ever with these. I play either callaway rule 35 or Titleist Pro V''s, and find that they work better than hard balls with these clubs. If you are a good ball striker and want the workability of a blade with better forgiveness, try out a 7, 5 and 3 iron. If you can hit''em, buy''em.

i bought these for $400 cdn (what''''s that in us dollars 8 bucks? i had the ti 845''''s for 3 years and wasnt looking to sell but somebody offered me more for mine than the evo''''s new. demoed them, loved them, bought them, made $100. they brought my game to another level, shooting mid 80''''s instead of low 90''''s. i can hit knockdowns, i can hit high draws and i can fade them. these clubs showed me how fun it can be to shape shots. they are a little less forgiving than the ti 845 but all i want to do is hit the ball pure because it feels so darn good. its winter in canada and i sure miss the sensicore but maybe i''''ll look into the sims shock relief. one thing- not that i carry it in my bag but i cannot hit that 3 iron. the 4 is a peach but i can''''t figure out the 3, i guess because its a 3 iron.
