TaylorMade 200 Steel Fairway Metal Woods Fairway Woods

TaylorMade 200 Steel Fairway Metal Woods Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

Greater forgiveness and distance are products of its 455 stainless steel Powerframe Technology construction. It allowed us to redistribute weight and optimally place CG to create the higher trajectory sought by most players. A trapezoidal sole pad and CAD optimized internal weight pad technology offer higher structural inertia to maintain velocity on off-center hits. This also creates a crisper, more satisfying sound and contact. Taken together, all of the features of the Powerframe Technology help increase ball speed.

This fairway wood is very forgiving. You will lose some distance if you hit it on the toe or heel, but what club doesn't? But this club will still shoot the ball down the fairway at least 180 yds, if not 200. The one thing that I don't like about it is the lack of feel. It's not as bad as a Callaway, and you do get some feedback. In actuality almost all of the hits feel really solid whether hit on the toe or the heel...or sweetspot. It's a great 3 wood and it's a great price. It's just hard to tell where you actually hit it at times. Feel isn't the most important thing when you're 230 out on a par five. Distance and forgivness are. Supposedly it has a bigger sweetspot than the 300 3 wood, and it's a little bit cheaper. c

Great club, have the 3 & 5 woods. This is a club I can hit with great ease and distance. Just had them reshafted with Harrison Boron Gold Shafts by the guys at Bay Golf and the performance is incredible. This clubs are in my starting line-up for now on.

I've had the Titleist 975F for 2 years now but wanted a fairway wood with a little more forgiveness for days when the swing isn't cooperating so well! As a package of distance (TM 200 longer by abt 20yards) and forgiveness (much easier to hit), the 200 steel was the best. 975F a little better on feel though.

I started getting serious with golf last year and have never been much of a wood player. Earlier this year I decided to find a 3wood and try using it instead of spraying my driver off of the tee. I went to a pro-shop and tried Ping, Calloway, Cleveland, and TM, all on their range. The 200 series was by far the best. I did not notice the drop off in yardage that I have been reading about, but the most important fact is that it hits where I hit it. I still hook or slice, but the club is very accurate. It is much more consistant than any graphite shaft wood I have ever played. Two words, "BUY ONE!"

This club is excellent. It is no fluke that pros use it on tour. The clubhead is a bit bigger than the TM 300 tour, and the trajectory is high. This helps me get my shots over the trees when needed and go long. With this club I can hit very long shots with no much effort. All I try to do is hit it clean. My distance varies from 220 to 265 yards. I can even reach 525 yard par fives in two giving me a chance for eagle! I also love this club because it is very easy to work as well. It responds very well when you want to draw or fade the ball. The stock shaft is very good. This is the best club in my bag. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Model Reviewed: Taylor MAde 200 Series Steel 5 wood

I have been playing with a Titleist 975f 3 wood (14.5)- great club on a great swing day but being human and realistic that is not every time, and a Mizuno Forged 5 wood. Good little club but the shaft was a little whippy. After much looking around I bit the bullet and tried a new 5 wood. I tried several but then came to the TM 200 5 wood. This is a great club. I have a Rifle s90 shaft in it and the ball flies straight and true and with great carry. (15 yards longer than my Mizuno 5 and almost up with the Titleist 3 wood). It picks up off the ground well and out of the rough (Mizuno just pips it here wit the compact head. It is also easy to shape (nice draws and fades). Because of the performance of the 5 wood I have demoed and now ordered the 3 wood to match. Overall- extremely good golf clubs.

Customer Service

Hopefully good - this is the first TM product I have bought.

Model Reviewed: 200 series 3 wood/5 wood - Grafalloy ProLite shaft

Awesome fairway woods. Face sets up square, and the club just sits right. Very easy to hit off the turf. Excellent feel, and great distance and ball flight. I had the Callaway Steelhead III, but could not adjust to the hook lie. For me, the Grafalloy Prolite shaft is perfect, although I'm sure the steel shaft is excellent also. The best set of fairway woods I've ever hit. I have to be careful not to be too long with them, sometimes necessitating using the 5 wood where I used to use a 3 wood. Also, I preferred the 200 series over the TaylorMade 300 series fairway wood.

Customer Service

Ordered these through Roger Dunn from TaylorMade due to the custom shaft. The special order took a little longer than a week.

Model Reviewed: 200 Steel 5-wood

This Steel 200 5-wood is an amazing club. It goes higher than my GBB 7-wood and carries as far as my Steelhead 4+ wood. Although not nearly as easy to hit consistently as Callaways, it's still quite forgiving and very straight. The feel is good throughout the swing, though at impact it's not as crisp as the Steelheads.

Originally I tried the 3 Wood withe the S90 graphite and I loved it. A friend had me try his with the S90 Rifle shaft I was UNBELIVABLE I just couldn't miss it. Every ball seemed launched. Needless to say I ran to my proshop and traded in my graphite for the steel. With this in my bag I'll hit tin the 80's for sure.

I've been playing golf regularly for almost two years now and never broke 90 until I picked up the TM 200 steel driver and 3 wood (rilfe shaft). I shot an 87 in just the second time I've used them. This babies kept me in the fairway 10 times out of 12. I definitely recommend these clubs especially for those who have a problem with slice.
