Orlimar Trimetal strong 13*
This is the best fairway wood I have ever hit. I bought it new several years ago when it first came out. It is a strong 13* with a regular flex graphite shaft. The first time I hit the club at the range, I could not believe the distance I was getting from a fairway wood. Before I bought this club, I was never able to make a green in 2 on a 500+ yard par 5. Now it's no problem. I have hit one par 5 in 2 from 255 out with this club. At one point, I was having driver problems and started using this club as my driver. I was probably averaging 260+ off the tee. I am sold on alpha maraging technology and the difference it makes in this club. I have not attempted to buy another fairway wood. Why bother? I'm still hitting this club as far as I did when I first bought it. It is easy to hit out of fairway rough also. These clubs can be picked up on Ebay for around $30 now. I believe it's a steal. Negatives? Not much. The shallow face may be a little hard to get used to for a new user. This may cause a few pop-ups. Other than that, I would recommend this club to anyone. Orlimar Trimetal 15 Deg
Superb. I used to struggle with a fade on my driver but since I bought this club I don't even use it any more. Very easy to hit straight or shape. Goes about 250 yds off the tee and 230 yds from the deck. Great value for money !!! I am now on the look out for a matching 5 wood. Better than any of my previous clubs. I am a left handed golfer and in my country we do lack the facility of being able to personally try equipment before purchase. In my case, I cant even try the sets that my buddies use (all of them are right handed). Over a period of time, I have selected clubs based on their reputation more than anything else. My brother presented me an Orlimar trimetal 15 degree fairway wood when he came to visit me three years ago and ---: - - My new club gives me a range of 270 plus from the fairway. This has enabled me to hit 2 on and get a few eagles and many birdies on virtually all par 5s. - The sleek blade has facilitated recoveries from bad lies. - On short par 4s, I tee off with the Orlimar and when i am not driving well, I now put away my driver and use it for all drives. - My score has moved from the eighties to the seventies. ALL IN ALL, IT HAS BECOME MY FAVOURITE CLUB. I WILL REPLACE MY OTHER WOODS TO GET A 10 DEGREE LOFT AND A 20 DEGREE LOFT. |

I bought this club because I admit, unlike other I am not consistant with my long irons. I took this club out today. Wow! An easy sweeping swing, 200 yds straight as an arrow all day. You can find this club around ebay cheap. Good club. Similar Products Used: Adams Tight Lie |

I bought the Orlimar because it was on sale. When I first tried it I sensed that these clubs are pretty easy to hit, but the shaft was just horrible. My shot was very very difficult to control. After a while, I changed the shaft to a true temper custom light sensicore and the difference shows. I feel that I might have lost a bit of distance but I have complete control of my shot. Overall, these clubs works for me as long as the shafts is changed. I'm planning to find a 13 deg and have it re-shaft. Orlimar Trimetal 5 wood
I bought the original Orlimar Trimetals on ebay last year for $65 ea used. Regular graphite shaft, had each cut down 1/2" for better control. These clubs are great, but are not for everyone. The face is so shallow, there is little room for error. What I find is that they force me to take a very controlled swing. There is plenty of forgiveness in these, but if you get under the ball at all, you'll get a skyball that doesn't go very far. I hit the 19 degree 5 wood 235 to 250 off the fairway. The 15 degree 3 wood I use mainly off the tee when I don't want to hit my Mizuno driver. My golfing buddy is a big hitter as well..on a 340 yard par 4 last year he hit his driver 300 off the tee. I hit my Orlimar 3 with a nice easy swing and watched it fly straight down the middle to within 20 yards of his ball! These clubs are sweet! Overall though if you don't shoot consistently under 95, they may not be for you. I saw the new "Trimetal II" recently in a store and it was "lust at first sight." Customer Service no experience. I have had trouble with fairway woods since I started playing 6 years ago. I bought the TriMetals after doing a lot of research. I used them twice at an indoor golf dome and found them to be excellent. Don't spend a lot on other brand names unless you only buy your clubs for show. These TriMetals (15/3W, 19/5W) have hit for 230 and 210 with a controlled swing. A friend of mine who owns a Titleist 975F was golfing with me the other day and complaining about his club. I stroked a 300 yard drive (975D) off the tee and lay 10ft from the water with 260yds to go. I then hit the most perfect 230yd drive off the turf that got up with a resounding twing and promptly turned into the most perfect middle of the fairway draw you could imagine. My friend who knew I had been having trouble with my fairway woods was so freaked that he demanded to use my club on his next shot. Without ever having used the club he stroked one about the same length as my shot. He than begged me to tell him where he could get the club. Let's see...230+ for $65.00...Hmmmmmm???? You do the math. If your swing and course managment suck to the point where you are trying to use a fairway wood instead of a lofted iron from deep rough then checkers is your game.....Thanks Orlimar..... Customer Service Never used it. Similar Products Used: Calloway Steelhead |

After two years of banging my head against the wall I decided to trade this club for a New Cleveland launcher (review pending). The orlimar was the most hot/cold stick in my bag. I'm a low handicapper and normaly never have a problem making solid contact, but this club drove me to drink... On the days when I felt that I was swing my best with every other club in my bag, the Orlimar would duck hook to the next fairway. It came to a point last summer where if I was in need of a 3 wood, I would just choke up a little and hit my driver off the deck. The store where I traded the Orlimar had two barrels full of them where others felt the same as I. Who knows, maybe it's just me. This was the only club purchase that I had made in the last ten years that I didn't hit the club first. It came back to bite me in the budd. After hitting the New Cleveland perfectly at the range I can't believe that I waited so long to get rid of the old club. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: N/A |

I sometimes break 100 in an easy course. Saw some posting here on replacing the stock shaft. Went to the store, frequency test it for flex ... showing regular ... discussed with the salesman and decided to reshaft with a UST ProForce 65 R-Flex at 43.5 inches ... got the reshaft done ... try it in the store in the simulator ... notice how stable the club was ... less hook and less slice ... took it to the course yesterday ... on the good drives ... it went 220 yards UPHILL ... will need to adjust my swing to maximize the benefit ... basically old shaft feels like a plastic stick while the new shaft feels like a metal stick. Customer Service Golf Town is execellent. Went on the simulator quite a few times on multiple visits. Salesman's attitude is neutral. I had wanted a stiff flex but he showed me the regular flex profoce may be better. Similar Products Used: None. |
