Great club. I can see why some people would have trouble skying the ball with this wood and yes, the sweet spot is small, but it you can make failry consistant contact with the ball you will be pelased with the results. Very workable and (in the 12 degree) long with lots of roll. Can't beat it for the price

I used to have old Ping knockoffs (older than me) Then my dad bought me a 14* and 18* woods. These are hands down the best I have hit. Forgiving and the 14* is sneaky long, on a sweet hit the ball can go 280. The 18* is more of a 4wood and love to hit that baby off the ground and attack the par 5's. I have the stiff flex. I am thinking of getting a 22* but not sure yet.

Great I went to Dicks got the babys like 50% off like normally $100 each but got them for $45.99. Best deal in a while

I now keep the 13 degree in my bag but only occasionaly keep the 4 wood. i must say once you upgrade the shaft and cut them down( they come at almost 44 inches)these clubs are great! they are super forgiving and dead long. It took me about four months to find the perfect clubs and i picked both of mine together n really good shape fopr 50.00 dollars. If you want a good fairway wood for not that much i picked up the 17 for $19.00 brand new, and the13 for $29.00 with a penley stealth seventy!

This club is pretty solid, but can be unreliable at times. Extremely shallow face forces you to put a real good swing on the ball. Good shots with this club are really good. I can hit many more par 5 greens in 2 since adding this stick to my bag. My old Callaway 3 wood produced a very high shot that did not fly very far. This club gives a more piercing trajectory, and I can easily get up to 50 more yards. I drove the green once with this club on a 310 yard par 4. Club feels very balanced and has good weighting. It can hit a ball off any lie, but is best off a low tee or from a nice tight lie in the fairway. Tends to sky the ball from the rough because of the shallow face. Fades and draws are easy to hit. I will top the ball occasionally with this club, but it has been worth it for the improvement over the Callaway and that problem is likely in my swing. Best of all, it cost me a whopping $20 used at 2nd Swing. This club has been good enough that I picked up a 17 degree model as well. We'll see how it works out.

How can anyone bad mouth this club????? This is the best club I have ever hit. Off the tee its solid, so long as the tee is low, and off the fairway it is solid as well. I hardly ever shoot less than 200 yards with it and im only 15.The sweet spot may be small but hit it right and the ball is gone. Picked it up at a garage sale for $20. It was worth every penny.

I picked this club up for $16 on Ebay.. Do you see that? Sixteen BUCKS! And I have owned about 7 or 8 fairway woods, and this one blows me away. I can't believe I didn't get one when they first came out. I'll just say I love it. And here's a story about it, I didn't have to use it till the 9th hole at the Private Club I work at. I bombed my drive, but rolled into the left rough. My ball was sitting half-way down in the rough, just the top half of my ball showing. And I was thinking, geez, with any other fairway wood this won't work, but to shoot it out low and just get it running. Well, I was 250+ yards out, and just at address, with the very shallow sleek face, I felt like I was going to hit it up on the green anyway. No doubt in my mind I was going to hit it solid. Sure enough I took a big but smooth swing and *ping!* that ball got up and into the air with a boring flight and I was just right of the green, about 10 yards short of a greenside bunker. I hit it about 235 from a half settled down lie in the rough. I jumped in the air and just proclaimed my love for the club, and my friends were impressed too that it came out so pretty. I made birdie with an up and in... Since I have not lost interest in it. I get excited when I bring it out, and shots from the fairway are SMOKED! Around 250yards with a beautiful flight. From the tee box I don't really need a tee, or just barely tee'd up, and I know I'll be in the short grass.. The addition of this club, and an Adams idea i-wood 3wood and my game will be scratch very soon. 2 Clubs that get you out of trouble easily. AND IT WAS ONLY $16 !!!!!!

Solid club but stock shafts are tough (firm). I will be changing out soon. Very good from the short grass but keep the face closed or you will have a bad slice. I try to hit the ball more on the toe to get a great draw and distance. 210-230 max. If you need a tee don't use this club!

Model Reviewed: Orlimar Trimetal Plus fairway woods

I have previously owned the Trimetal Plus series with 9.5* , 12* , 14* , 16* , and 18* lofts. All had EI-70 Tour Stiff shafts. Have tried all the newer technology , but have gone back to the Trimetals this year because they suit my game better than most clubs. One can buy them on eBay very cheap , but the Plus(+) models are the best. They are long , workable , and of very good quality. The previous viewer's assertion that hitting a long iron (2,3,4) out of rough instead of an 18* lofted fairway word is completely ridiculous. High lofted fairway woods are designed for this very thing. Also fairway woods ARE VERY WORKABLE. Perhaps he could advise me which golf equipment company actually manufactures a 'golf club face' that 'puts a grip in the golf ball , to produce the proper spin ' :>))))))) Wow. TIP of the DAY : If this person wants to work the ball , either by drivers , fairway woods , or long , mid , and short irons , perhaps a few golf lessons might be in order , as well as lots of practice.

Customer Service

I emailed Orlimar 2 months ago with a question. No reply. Terrible service. Not much wonder they have lost so much market share. Emailed Callaway with a problem with my GBB II Pro Series driver ... they replied immediately and replaced my driver with a brand new one.

Fantastic club. If you can talk yourself into taking a nice sweeping, controlled swing, then this is the best fairway wood I've ever seen. My 2/3 swing with the 19* gets me 200+ yards. But your fairway woods should not have a place in your bag because you can't hit a long iron. Remember, the fairway wood is for the FAIRWAY. What do you do in the rough? I use a 2 or a 3 iron from the rough if I have a long way to go. What everyone calls fairway woods these days, are really unworkable smaller versions of drivers that are supposed to cure our slices and hooks. If you can hit the ball, you'll love the Trimetal. If you can't hit the ball, you should realize now what you ALWAYS realize right after you flub a shot: "I would have done better to hit a 7 iron!". You'd have a ton better success learning to punch a 7, 6, or 5 iron. That'd get you 170 yards. Oh yeah, if you're really trying to work the ball right or left, keep to the irons. Wood and driver club faces are really not designed to get a grip on the ball to put any effective spin on it.

Customer Service

Uinta golf is the bomb! They put up with me visiting, hitting lots of balls, and using up lots of tape.
