For now I only have an 11 deg. Trimetal driver, but for purposes of this fairway woods review, I have to say that I have played this driver off the deck on long par 5's, and have found it to be easy to hit, even from relatively bad lies. Try that with today's big-head drivers. Off the tee, as an 11 deg., the flight is more along the lines of an 8 or 9 loft, and very long. I plan to get the 13, 19, 23 woods and perhaps a 27 (if they made them that high) to replace some of my long irons. If you prefer smaller clubs, you will find these easy to hit, but if you like large modern woods, these may not be for you. Don't think that the Trimetal Plus will perform the same as the original Trimetal . . . it has a deeper face and is a different animal. altogether.

All of the other reviews are correct this club can be and will be very good when hit correctly. The small face makes it extremely easy to hit out of the rough. This also makes it a little harder to hit the sweet spot. I can hit my 3 wood 250 when I get good contact. the sound and feel is great. I am still looking for something more forgiving/easy, but until then I have this club. I can tell you that even though i am not that good at directing shots, I am able to draw/fade this club by positioning my back foot to create the desired effect. Consider the fact that it is cheap and can find anywhere used, and you got a good deal.

Tried every wood on the market/dropped back down to a couple older Orlimars,the Tri Metal 9.5+ and 14* 3w-both with the True Temper E70 r graphite shaft.I'll be 63 in July and am back to being the longest of our 8 guys that play,something I lost about 7 years ago.On a nice summer day I can pop the driver out there about 265 including roll.Add to it the 3 wood that I can hit straight(slight draw)to the tune of 240,translates to hitting all par 5's 485-510 in 2.Great sticks they're about 10 yrs old ,in mint condition and I wish I would have had them 10 years ago.The fw wood has out hit the R9 at the range all day long with all its new technology.Unreal.Why isn"t Orlimar on tour more?Picked up the 7 wood-similar shaft over the winter.Can't wait to start back up with these 3 !

I love the guys who shoot in the 90's and 100's who say this club is hard to hit. Find a swing i have two sets of sticks and play the 12,14,17 and 18 degree Trimetal's with the EI-70+ stiff flex and smoke thses babies all day. I hit my 14 degree 280 off the deck to a 600 yard par five in 2 and made the eagle. These are the longest easiest to hit woods I have played in 40+ years at this game. Play what you want this is simply one of the best. I can hit the 12 300 off the tee and i'll be 60 in May.

I love some of the post this are as good as your swing. I have hit a couple of rotten eggs but overall i smoke them. i have a 14 and 18 degree with the EI-70 Tour stiff shaft. Hit the 14 290 to a 600 yard paqr five and made an eagle from 6 feet. Solid but u can get under these in fluffy rough. Overall a great club. I paid 18.00 for mint sticks and am looking for their twins to put in my other bag.
