Callaway X Fairway Woods

Callaway X Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The X-Sole design, the clubhead rests on two distinct, raised areas of the sole, eliminating the tendency of the head to rock back and forth at address. That means a more consistent alignment that will help ensure your shots start off on-line. A lower leading edge allows you to hit down under the ball, especially helpful on tight lies. Internal weighting is positioned ideally in each loft. making it easy to get the ball airborne and resulting in a more ideal trajectory.

Great club. Won an eBay nauction on a Wednesday, it arrived as I was heading out the door to play on Saturday. Took out the 3 iron and put it in the bag - the first swing would be on the course. The result was outstanding. Extremely easy to line up, plenty of "pop", and allows working the ball. An easy swing got it out of relatively deep rough for 185 yds. Jumping on it off the tee hit the green on a 210 yd. par 3. Hitting out of divot - no problem. Highly recommended.

The X has been in my bag for about 1 year. It's very long. Wonderful club off the tee. Also works well off the deck. Carries about 250 yards for me. (I swing my driver at 102 mph.) With my Cleveland High Bore XL (Great Club) and X 3-wood combo I am reach par 5s in two whenever I drive it in the short grass. It's nice to know that I have a good chance to make birdie an any par 5 less than 550 yeards long.

Stiff shaft is stiffer than most. If you are a Callaway guy and use the Firm shaft, stick the the Regular.

Now is the era of midhandicapper shifted their choices of club to hybrid and rescue. Its a fenamenon that tragically threw all their long irons and fairwoods to store. I've tried to follow suit but found out the missing link and strated to look for fairway. After searching i came across this callaway X series and blasted few shot with #3,5 and 7. With my hard hitting its look that fujikura shaft really worked fine.So to compesate of not so called famous trend of fairway at the moment, i chose #4 rather than #3 and 5.Went over to the course and the result: SPLENDID. I BLASTED MY NEW BABY WITH 200 YRDS. He he few rounds producing my handicap to drop to 11 from 15. Now i confidently taken the challenge from my flight mate since i have teasured my new secret weapon.Go and hit...its easy with #4.

Nothing but good things to say here. I read the reviews and the mazaine ratings, and they don't lie. I sold my Cobra SZ 4+ and 7 woods after I got a free Callaway 3 wood when I bought the FT-3 driver last year. I then bought the matching 5 wood and I haven't looked back. I'm an average golfer shooting in the low 100s - I sneak into the 90s from time to time - and I've owned several brands of fairway woods. These are easy to get square and you can play them from any lie. The look inspires confidence at setup and they feel perfectly weighted during the swing. They're also more than able off the tee. Just a terrific club - a real workhorse on the course.

Customer Service

I have used Callaway customer service and they were amazing. That is one of the reasons every club in my bag is a Callaway - I know I can count on this company.

Model Reviewed: Callaway X 5/7 Wood

For years, I have struggled with my long iron play from 150+ yards. I tried the Cleveland Halo hybrids and Adams tight lies fairway woods, but was dissapointed with my results. I was not able to hit them very far and was inconsistant. I went to my local pro shop, and was able to try out several fairway woods on their computer simulator. First shot with a Callaway X 5 wood carried 175 yards with some carry. It felt so easy to hit I could not believe it. I traded in my Halo hybrids on the spot. I realized I was in a controlled atmosphere, so I wasnt expecting the same results on the course.
This club is awesome. I was able to reach greens from almost 190 yards away. I loved it so much, I went back the next day and purchased the 7 wood. I realize the results are not the same for everyone, but I'm sure glad to have found these clubs.

Customer Service

Great service from the Pro Golf staff. Trying out the club before you buy it is a must. Will never buy a club online again.

This could be the most disappointing Golf Club I have EVER used. It is almost impossible to hit from the fairway, and just a little better from a low tee height. I would rather use a 5 wood,7 wood, or hybrid from the fairway or light rough.Callaway products are generally very good[like the GBB2], but this is one you should pass on unless you can not hit your driver that well or have a need for a second type driver as one of your 14 clubs. High hopes were dashed with this golf club. Poor distance for a long shafted club.

Customer Service

Callaway is generally excellent.

Model Reviewed: X Hot 3 wood Reg

I bought the X hot after my dad pried my X 3 wood from me for his birthday. Off the tee this club is long. The first time I used the club, there was water 245 yards ahead so I put the driver in the bag and pulled out the Xhot, guess what happened? I hit the ball 245yds in the water. I cant usually hit my driiver 245yds. Point being, the X-Hot is long!
On the fairway is a different story. I have had trouble hitting it from the fairway. Im not sure if the enlarged head is an disadvantage as I found the regular X easy to hit from the deck.

Off the tee I rate this club very high, off the deck, only time will tell.

Now this is a 67 year old who doesn't hit his 3 wood 250-270 yards. i hated to have to use a 3 wood, so gave it up. Read some reviews on this club and bought one. Well, i have to admit, i sleep with this club!!!! smooth as glass, senior shaft and 200 yards as straight as a string. Never hit so many greens as with this club. Great trajectory with little effort. Buddies have tried it and were amazed.

Hope I never have to use it

Model Reviewed: Callaway X 3W 15* w/ stiff Fujikura shaft

This club is the only wood in my bag that i'm holding over to next season. It's great off the tee on shorter holes or holes with narrower fairways. I get about 265-275 yds with this off the tee and has been a great back up driver for me. I tend to hook it every now and then, but more often than not, the club is forgiving enough to give me a draw on my shots. Hitting off the deck is a little trickier. Typically I don't attempt it very much and that's fine for me. I picked this club up for $85 shipped off ebay so this is a steal of a deal.

Customer Service

Callaway always has great customer service.

I have bought 50 odd drivers in the search to get length and direction. Bingo! I buy this little beauty and i am keeping up with my playing partners and often out driving them with my 3 wood! I have the Fujikura Tour Platform in stiff and put a nice light blue IOMIC grip on it. it looks fantastic feels very solid and goes a country mile. Just go and buy it simple as that.
