i had the driver and 3 wood as gifts and well for one the design is ugly but the club itsself alike all other callaway products is over-priced and under-quality. The driver i hit hit 290's low 300's which is good for some people but my titlest driver i average 310-320, the 3 wood is decent i hit it 260's but my titlest one i hit 270 and the callaway and titlst werer probly same price. and i think titlest has a better feel, i can work them more, and most importantly the titlest head covers are just too cool.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus III Driver

Have had problems with woods since returning to the game after 10 year break. Iron shots have been long and reasonably accurate but needed something to compete on long 4's and 5's. On the recommendation of a friend I bought a Steelhead plus 5 wood (yeehaa) for distance and accuracy, Recently bought the Steelhead III driver - best money I've ever spent on anything in my bag. Forget your £500 super-dooper Titanium-grahite-teflon-sugar-coated posing sticks. This is the Maharaja of mighty mallets. 3 quarter your back swing, half the swing speed and watch the ball scream like a scalded cartoon cat.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus 3+ and 5+

Finally got the consistency and control I need. The 3+ is plenty off the tee on short to mid length par 4's, long high and accurate. The 5+ is the most workable fairway wood I've ever had. Can sail up 180 yard lawn darts to greens on long par 4's, or can crank it a little on really long par 3's and count on good accuracy and distance control (for me). I use stock Calloway firm graphite, 5/8" longer, feels like regular shaft in other premium lines.

I struggled with driver for years.Went to Florida on holiday and bought this club in some golf shop to try it(it was cheap).Never looked back since.I can hit this club further than my playing partners can hit driver. If you struggle off the tee buy this club swing slow and watch it take off down the middle

Model Reviewed: Callaway Steelhead III 5 wood

Callaway Steelhead 5 wood with uniflex steel shaft, NEW. Was pleasantly suprised with the stock steel shaft. Nice high and consistent ball flight. Easy to hit off both tee and deck. My original intentions were to buy the cheaper steel shaft and reshaft with a graphite design shaft to match my driver and 3 wood. I liked it so much I''''''''ve decided not to reshaft. I might even demo the driver. I hit this club much more consitently then with my old steelhead plus woods.

Customer Service

Excellent. Have always replaced a damaged club without question.

This driver is the most comfortable club i have ever used. There is no other club that I would want when I address the ball on the tee box. When hitting the ball it seems so effort less the club does all the work for you.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead III 3 & 5 woods - stiff/stock shaft

When I decided I had to give my equipment a major overhaul (after 3+ yrs. with a $99 Striker set), I wanted exceptional performance that would give me confidence everytime I looked at it and durability. I can''t exactly comment on the durability part just yet, but I know performance and this is truly outstanding. I hit in a 40 mph wind at the range Sunday (mats were flying) and I had to take breaks to keep from getting blown off-balance myself. Not exactly the best time to demo clubs. I had decided to complement my Launcher driver with steel-headed fairway woods. The TM 200s felt solid, but I was looking for a piercing trajectory and I just wasn''t getting enough of that from the Taylor Mades. I took out the Callaways (which were currently my third choices behind Taylor Made and Cleveland) and just hit bullets! Great consistent trajectory in a 40 mph wind and holding its line great! Hit the 5 wood about 225 (30 yd. increase from old clubs) and was sticking 7 out of 10 on a green 220 out. Remember, this was all in a 40 mph wind. Terrific clubs worth every penny. Ely would be proud.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead III 3wd & 5wd

Hadn''t changed my fairway woods for about 4 years but borrowed my buddy''s Steelhead Plus 3 wd and wow ! Best strike 307 yds off the tee. Gotta have them. Problem - they''re out of production after what, 18 months ! Tried the Steelhead III''s and love them just as much, so get the 3wd and 5wd with Callaway Uniflex steel shafts. Consistent ball flight and great distance, great sound off the face. Not bothering with a driver now. Anyone know if Maxfli made a gap wedge in the original (black) Revolutions ?

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus 3

I bought this from my buddy that is an assistant pro who moved on to the Taylor Made 200 steel. He put a Rifle Lite 6.0 in it and I have to say this thing is awesome and helps keep the ball down. I love to hit this on Par 5''s. Acutally, I got my first eagle with it from 250 yards and sunk the 10 foot eagle putt. I think the sound is awesome and the closed face put a slight draw on which adds to a little more distance. This is one of the top woods out. Haven''t tried the Steelhead 3 but I will stick with this.

Customer Service

Never needed them, but I heard Callaway has best customer service.

I bought a 4 wood model with a pro force 75 X stiff shaft. This product is the best fairway wood I have used , easy to hit and very forgiving. Make sure you get the shaft fitted to your swing , it makes a huge difference.
