I have a Steelhead Plus 11 degree driver with a EI-70 and a Steelhead 4+ also with a EI-70 in it. I love both of these clubs! I am going to be getting a new driver soon becasue 11 degrees is too much for me now. If you want great woods without having to pay a crazy amount look no further then the Steelhead line of Woods!

Customer Service

Lets see here? Started off with a SteelHead driver (in steel shaft), broke that shaft swinging, Callaway gave me a new club! Did the same thing again and Callaway sent me a new club! Later on I caved in the face of my driver and then Callaway had no more Steelhead drivers left for me so they gave me a SteelHead Plus! I don't want to try my luck with them again! Callaway has been too nice to me!

Model Reviewed: Calloway Steelhead Plus 3-Wood

I finally found the perfect 3-wood for me! This beauty really smashes the ball super. I love my Ping TiSi Driver and now I really love my Callaway Steehead Plus 3-wood. I play a natural draw and was a bit concerned about what I heard on these reviews about hooking the ball. I found I can hook a telephone pole if I swing too quick, so what the heck. With a smooth swing this baby jacks the ball out there very long and ever so graceful. Oh yea if I crank down on her she will turn it over, however it is a much more forgiving 3-wood than anything I have ever tried. I found it all comes down to an individuals comfort level. It's not just about how it looks or feels in the Golf Store. The confidence gained after hitting quality golf shots with a particular club is the real test of time. I hope you love your 3-wood. I love mine!!!

This club is excellent. I can't get over the feel of this club at impact. If you hit the sweet spot, there is nothing like it. I directly compared it to the Titleist 975F, the Ping I3, and the Mizuno Tzoid, and neither felt as good as the Callaway. I truly recommend this club to anyone in the market for a high quality fairway wood.

This is not a bad club for all lever golfers. I think for the mid to high handicappers it is ideal. My preference in a 3 wood is a lower, more boring trajectory. I use a Taylor Made Tour preferred 3 wood, a really old club, but offers me what I need in a 3 wood. It is similar to the Titleist pt, which I may switch to.

Great club for anyone who can really hit fairway woods. Super sound and feed back. Forget your 3 iron, This club goes high, 220-230 and stops.

Goes to show why so many PGA player have it in the bag. Power club, good for a strong golfer who has problems with length on 2/3 iron. It is a short club and this is it's advantage. Lot's of control. Problem is that you will hit it too long if pumped up.

Beautiful looking club too boot !

Tried these when renting clubs while on vacation. Hit a 5 wood to the green from 225 yds. That sold me. Had been looking to replace 3wood anyway. Bought steel shaft 3-wood a few weeks later. Club fits in well with rest of my Callaway clubs (X-12s 3-sw, GBB driver).
Great club, and a great value with steel shaft. Nice boring ball flight, good distance (225-245 yds), nice look at set-up (deep blue finish), even good from tough lies.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead Plus 4+ and 7

My pro suggested getting these clubs instead of getting a driver. Great advice. After 1 month I am achieving the results consistent with all these reviews and am enjoying golf even more! I would highly recommend these clubs. They perform marvelously with a full smooth swing. The clubs are forgiving on poor swings or off center hits.

I am 5" 7" and replaced both OEM shafts with a generic all-black UST-made reg-flex shafts. My 4+ shaft is 1 inch longer than standard (44 inch). I use the 4+ as a driver and hit it a reliable and predictable 240+. Not the longest driver, but "fairway golf" doesn't suck.

The 7-wood is a dream! It is extremely easy to hit (I could never hit a fairway wood off the deck before) but I hit it far immediately. After 1 month I am more consistent in distance and ball flight at 210. The 7 wood will join my COMP EZ 8 iron as my other "go to" club from the fairway.

Caveat: Like some other reviewers, I found these clubs only to be "o.k." - However, on video I saw that I was only 3/4 swinging and had problems releasing. I worked on my swing for a few weeks and it has paid off.

These clubs are confidence builders. A consistent 240 and in the fairway ain't a bad tee shot in my book. With the 7, I actually look forward to being out 210 and drool when I am at the 200 mark. I might have trouble keeping these clubs in my bag since my 4+ gets a lot of attention from my golf buddies!

Final thought - in my opinion golf clubs are only as good as the swing you put on them. There are no "one club fits all", and no club will cure a bad swing fault. If you can, I would recommend finding a true club-fitting pro. In addition to fitting clubs to your swing, he'll also analyze your actual swing and its characteristics, then make recommendations of clubs that fit that type of swing. Whenever I hit a poor shot, I know it's not the equipment!

Now if I can just start to learn how to putt...

The club is ok. I just find more distance and accuracy with the Orlamar's. It is however way sweeter the the Tight Lies.

Beautiful playing 3 wood. Gets out of rough, bunkers, and divots easily. Nice boring ballflight. Very accurate. Cut 3 strokes off my score.
