Model Reviewed: 905R 8.5* UST V2 75G Stiff

Just bought my Tity 905R Used today for $150.00 in excellent condition, few blems on the shaft but hey whatever beggars can't be choosers esp looking for this club. 8.5* UST V2 76g Stiff. HOOOO MAN I thought that i bombed the ball with my Hibore XL after i hit the 905R i had to go look at the balls i hit because i thought that they were killed when they came of the face of that thing!!! In all honesty here are the launch monitor stats after hitting the 905R

Launch angle: 11.5 (brought the angle down from hibore)
Spin: 3200 (brought the spin down from the hibore)
Swing speed: 110.00
Distance Carry: 265 (major distance improvement)
Distance Roll: 285 (allot more roll, launch angle anyone!)

This is on a Launch Monitor (Photographic one to boot) so add 10% to those distance numbers and bam: 291.50 Carry and 313.50 Roll. I SHAT MYSELF!

The funny thing about this club is that i never really heard about it, its like a greatly kept secret, while all the other companies are producing all these hyped up drivers in all these candy colors there in the dark corner is the titleist drivers (905R & Other tity models) that are only bought by "Players", if you have good fundamentals and a nice swing speed this club will change the way you drive the ball guaranteed!!

I switched from my Cobra 400 SZ to the 905R recently and was amazed at the difference. My driver is a 9.5 degree so its 1 degree lower than my previous driver. I hit it lower and have more carry than my old driver. I gained 20-30 yards on my drives and will play this driver as long as I can. 5 Stars!!!

Nice driver bought it over the summer and i couldnt be more pleased with it. Bought it with the graphite design shaft and could not be much happier. It sets up nicely and feels great when hit on the sweet spot. Try it out if you get the chance quality product

I tried this club a while back with the Aldila NVS stiff shaft and never felt like it was a good fit (SS 95mph - age 60). I found a gently used one with the Graphite Design YS6+ in regular and tested it versus a Ping G10 and Nickent 4DX. I hit the G10 and this the longest and consistently down the middle but at $99 the used Titleist was a no brainer. Moral to the story is find the right shaft and club selection becomes easy.

Wow, could not believe the difference in playability and scoring. Buy 905 R, with 9.5 degree head and put in ALDILA "Proto by you" shaft in stiff. My swingspeed is 90 mph Hit 220 meter in fairway 90%. Have also buy a D1 but NOT exited. Cant hit with woods before. Put in 15 degree 906F,(dont like it) and the revolution for me put in 17, 19 and 23 of the 904F. The last (the older ones) is gold in my hand, have now skip all hybrids. Last 2 rond 85 and 79, I am 15 hcp 61 year, on my way down in hcp.

Wow what a club, just purchased this club on ebay and could not believe the difference. Previous only used regular shaft TM drivers with the R5 going well, I wanted to try a stiff shaft and decided to try the 905r with a Harmen tour shaft, plus use a 11 degree head to get lift. This clud hits "LONG" and straight, the TMr5 was reaching 250-300 the T905r is reaching 300 in cold conditions!!! Agree with other reviews the shaft does help with getting a good launch...worth a punt..

After playing a 983K I bought this new from Golfsmith for $199 less the trade on a couple of older clubs for a net of about $130. I have played with it twice and like it better than any driver hit including the 983K which I will always keep. The face is not as deep as many other 460 cc heads which means I don't have to tee it a mile high to hit the sweet spot. Good sound and feel.

I will probably keep this in the bag for a long time. I also looked at the D2 and liked the 905R much better.

Customer Service

Have had no need to use Titleist's customer service other than to order some " I'd rather be driving a Titleist" stickers, which they kindly shipped.

I bought this slightly used in 9.5* and a stiff Speeder shaft. Awesome club. Hits the ball high and a ton! I am not one to throw compliments often but this Titleist deserves it. Square face gives the low handicap player the look he is seeking. Sets up well to the ball and at 460cc it is loaded with forgiveness. Always important to get the club in the correct shaft and the Speeder has always worked for me. I plan on using this driver for quite a while. At a greatly discounted rate this club is one of the best deals out there!

Exellent driver, Like it better than then new model. Very Straight. No closed club face, like the Callaway, Ping, Cleveland, etc. Very much a club for a player that likes to control the ball with High Fade. find the right shaft and you can keep this in the bag for years.
