this driver is great. Very workable and shaft choices r awesome too. be careful when chosing shaft as it makes a lot of difference. my advice is to go on a launch monitor b4 deciding. i currently play off 5 and am averaging about 280 with the 905.

I have a 9.5* 905R with a graffalloy prolite stiff flex shaft. The driver is straight and fairly long, but not garganchuinly long. I love it though, the 460cc is the way to go. Easy to hit, hard to miss it in a bag, and the weight feels good to me. i had a 905R 105* regular flex, and the stiff flex made a huge difference in accuracy.

bought from a teaching pro (Petey), then sold my other driver to this guy to get the money to pay Petey.

Yes - I too thought the comment "once you have played Titleist you will always come back" - was abit of sales hype.

Well its not.

I used to play the 905T driver, traded it in on an R7 425, and now i have seen the light and come back to Titleist - buying the 905R.

The same can be said with my irons, i used to have a set of 735cms, traded them in on the RAC LT2's and now i am back to Titleist, having missed the forged feel of the 735cms and an appreciation for how good they are compared to other "premium irons".

Anyway - back to the 905R - great feel of the clubface - the ball really explodes of it and goes loooooooong AND straight.

What more can i say - when you have experienced the TRUE quality and workmanship and performance of Titleist -you WILL come back.

I have - along with alot of others!

So save yourself some money by buying the 905R, getting professionally fitted with the right loft, shaft and shaft flex and leave the damn thing in your bag - dont "LOOK AROUND" for something better - you ALREADY have the best!

This driver is by far the longest driver I have tested. Much, much better feel than the r7 425 which feels like a soup can, better control but not quite as good feel as the cleveland hibore but overall much, much longer.

I've hit two different 905Rs on the course, more than that on the range. The first one I detested. It was 9.5 with what was meant to be a stiff speeder in it. The speeder was like an over cooked noodle, I sprayed it everywhere and thought the feel was dead. I only liked it at one point the entire round when I got the shaft working properly and crushed one further that I ever had on a par 5. That drive was foreshadowing later success.

The second R I used was fitted to me on a launch monitor. It had a V2 x flex and was 9.5 degrees. It felt like a different driver. It sounded different, like a cannon and this thing was long. I came 6 feet short of getting on a 351 metre dogleg par 4. Previously I had had trouble carrying the pot on the corner. I could fade it draw it in any direction and the flight was perfect, high with low spin.

THe moral of this story, get fitted. Its the only way that a new driver will truely help your game.

This driver has it all! Top drawer in distance, one of the most accurate, workable, nice loud explosive sound. Try it before you buy anything else. Be sure to get fitted for the right shaft and loft configuration. It is also fairly forgiving - not as much as some of the others but still decent. Nice solid feel at impact.

Before, I give my review, I highly recommend anyone looking for a new driver to get fitted on a launch monitor. No matter what you buy, there is a shaft and loft that is right for you. I noticed a variations of 20 yards betweend different heads, shafts and lofts.

Someone posted in a review that once you've gone to Titleist you will always come back. That is true for me. I went from the 983k to Ping G2/G5 and now have the 905r. I didn't think anything would be as long as my G5, but I was wrong. The 905r is just as long and more accurate. The 905r is 1/2 inch shorter then my G5 which helps with the accuracy, but I am sacrificing no distance. That's amazing!!! If you have every been happy with a Titleist driver, go get this one!!! The only thing I had to get use to was the sound at impact. It's loud!!

This is a follow up from my first review of the 905r. The 905r is very good; infact very good club and it's emabarassing for those that are incapable of of hitting this thing. I am sickened by your incapalbility.

I know most here hit 300+ and maybe 350 plus.

I hit with a fade for 250 somewhat consistently since getting the 905r 9.5 and a few huge fades and very few hooks. I can now hit most 240 in play with this club and really like it. I am no longer looking, like most here. I truly like the Titleist 905r 9.5 with GS YS 6+ stiff and accept my swing as the issue, never the club. It excels me by 1 million years.

Really, I am almost sickened by most reviews. lies!!!!! BS!!!! Wake and it's your game that that's total garbage not the 905r. This club is the best of the best; the next BIG THING! HAHAHAHA! fools! I.D.O.T.S!!! Yes you non-905r's

Well it held up once again. Once you go Titleist, you will always come back. I bought mine on Ebay with the V2 stiff 76g shaft for $265.00. It took me a bucket to get used to the whole setup and started hitting the ball very solid. I was previously using the Cleveland Launcher 460 w/a Proforce Tour Reserve 75g shaft, which is now for sale because the titleist blows it away. The feel of the club is completely different then any of the "trampoline effect" driver heads. I noticed with the V2 shaft that when I chased after it hard, the ball would baloon and fade too much. So I bought a Harrison Pro 80g 1.8torque Tour shaft(cost $70.00), had it spined, and had golfsmith install it. ithttp://harrisongolf.com/18_series.htm . Just hit it today for the first time, and what a difference & well worth the extra money. My swing speed is 105-115. Can't stress enough to get fitted for the right shaft. I have had great results with Harrison's products, but a different model may be the one for you. I hit this driver about 280 consistantly, but I can take it to 300 when needed. Overall, this club provides such a solid powerful feel, and it is nice to have a more forgiving product from Titleist now. I can't wait to play in the afternoon and stick it to the course. I also bought the 904 15* 3wood with a Aldila NV 75g stiff shaft, and love that club also. First hit was for fun from 280 on a par 5, and ended up putting it in the middle of the green. Normal hit is about 265 with it.

Customer Service

Haven't used it yet. Note: Golfsmith did a great job on the re-shaft.

This review is for the Titleist Pro Titanium 905R with Graphite Design YS-6 Stiff flex with 9.5 degrees of loft.

First time I hit it I noticed the potential for a push/slice with the square face. I often hit with an open face as per the tee marks under the clubhead. As I've warmed up to the club, I've noticed straight shots also and very slight fades. Some draws and very few hooks are possible, but they are with a bad swing. The more likely shot is a fade). I accept all shots as 90s golfers should and just go with it and try to get better. My goal isn't 300 yards, but 240 consistently would be truly amazing.

The 9.5 hits a nice high ball and even a high draw or slight fade, which I like. The better player shafts will hit lower ball. Though I'm not a better player and prefer a shaft that I can hit in S-flex. 10.5 better have a very stiff flex (UST V.2 75) or it may be too high.

Distance: I've hit it 250 on the fly with best shots and this equals anything for me. I think I can get it out 260 with a very straight hit. Distance is good and I'm sure the big boys can bomb it as I've seen on the PGA tour television - Davis Love 111, Ernie Els!!!! These guys are monters, don't even think about it.

Overall opinion: It's a very good club with beautiful confidence-inspiring look at address. Swings through the ball well. The first Titleist that I can hit.

Swing speed: 95 - 103

good I'm sure.

I recently demoed and purchased the 905R with aldila 350 stiff shaft. This is one of the best feeling drivers I have ever hit. I was fit for this driver at Golf Galaxy, and they were very helpful in the selection process.

This driver wasn't the longest that I've hit, but it was the most accurate. Distance was still pretty impressive keeping even poorly struck shots in the fairway with at least 225 yards of carry.

I Highly recommend this club to anyone who wishes to take their game to the next level with control.
