Titleist 983K 9.5 Aldila NV65
Wow, this driver is awesome! I recently struck a deal from a local dealer and was able to get it with the Alida NV65. This combination of head and shaft are great. Mind you, I am only 17 and small by golf standards. (5'5", 125 lbs.) I was playing a course with very tight fairways with trees lining both sides. I could very easily string the needle between the trees. I was able to hit this club about 270-280 yards consistantly! I also bombed a 290 yard drive last weekend while playing with a friend. No downhill shot, no wind, no nothing. It was all my own swing and this club's greatness. This club is easily longer and much more consistant than my old Cleveland Launcher 330 and Wilson Deep Red. I hit those drivers well, it was just very difficult with inconsistant ball flights. This is a great club, people should give it a try. One of the best looking drivers out there. I got this driver because the shaft on my Nike Ignite wasn't stiff enough. It was cheaper to swap clubs instead of buying a new 100 dollar shaft. I couldn't be happier with the Titleist. It is long and feels amazing. I regripped it with Winn G8 grips which are the best grips out there in my opinion. I have a YS-6+ shaft, stiff flex which seems perfect for my swing. I am not a huge driver fan. I much rather take my TM200 2 wood than a driver. Too much hoopla and money and energy drain. My last driver was TM580XD, which I got for opening a brokerage account. I did tried many driver by trying friends. 580XD was easy, but broke too easily. I managed to break it after playing very few rounds. This is typical as I seen too many people having same problem with face and weight on the back. After being without my driver, I picked up 983K and I was amazed at the workability of this driver. It's mainly due to feel of the driver. TM just does not compare. It's a little harder to hit, due to smaller head, but boy can I draw and fade this thing. Distance is a little less, I think than TM; however, keeping it a little low and putting the ball where I want it really makes a difference. I tend fade and slight draw bias do help a lot too. Not to mention, this is thing is built like a tank. I don't think this will go out of action anytime soon. TM is like a M16 and this is more like AK47 in durability department. It's better to have a driver that is strong, than no driver due to breakage. I would not recommend Titleist shaft on this. Spend a little extra and try either Prolite (I got) or N.V. It's well worth it. Prolite hits a little easier and N.V. keeps ball on target due to stiffer shaft. YS is nice, but a little too flexible for my taste. Try them all. Callaway nor TM really compares in the feel department. 983k may not be easier, due to smaller head, but may improve your drive. I take my 2 wood a little less now. Oh, 905 was very nice too, but I never liked spending $400 for a club. At $200, this is a good enough club for this duffer. Customer Service 1 yr svc is very low - not used it, but, way it's built, I don't think I will need it. Similar Products Used: Callaway BB, TM XD, |

I love this club, super long, so long that I hit it off of the fairway on dog legs. Damn they sure don't make clubs like they used to but they arrre magnificent. The Aldila just adds the butter to the face, perfect size and it allows you to square it awsome. This is the #1 driver to me and lot's of other people. Despite the 983K having a hook bias, when I hit a slice I really know about it. Yet, the 983K generates a huge amount of distance and feels better than any other driver I have played with, so a huge slice once a round its worth it. The 983K takes a bit of practice to get right and therefore is not suitable for the weekend hacker. Customer Service Poor Similar Products Used: none |

I've always have a power fadeslice problem with my driver, but with the 983k and a little turn of the hands I'm dead center or left of fairway and longer than any driver I've ever hit. I don't even mind losing a ball left from time to time, anything is better than watching that slice fade into the woods. I use the 9.5 degree model with the prolite 35 stiff flex shaft and it works very well. it's not the longest driver but it's not far behind, It is the best overall though. e-mail me if u wish, i am a club rep so i know alot about different clubs. try the new bridgestone driver when you can. When I test drove this thing last year it was unparalled, so I bought it. Then, for whatever reason, still a mystery to me, I couldn't hit it to save my life. Snap hook city. Ok, that's the bad news. Another winter gone and back on the course and holy moly. Boom, down the middle. Only conclusion I can come up with is a glitch in my swing at the end of last year. Oh, come on, we all get them. Right now, I absolutely love this club and shaft combination. I've added enough length and consitent accuracy to my drive to pair down to just one fairway wood and add a 4th wedge to the bag, which has really helped in the scoring. Bottom line for me is all the aspects seem to be covered. Setup appearance, weighting, feedback/forgiveness, tragetory, distance and accuracy are all great. Thought I had tried every driver out there, but I miss this one. Wow after 2 knee replacements finally found a driver that hits straight with distance. the 11 1/2 deg with a reg shaft is great if your swing speed has decreased. There is hope. |

An absolutley AWESOME driver. Everything about this club is right, its weight, its feel, the way it looks sat behind a ball, its just the best driver I have ever used. For a big metal driver it even makes a nice noise, as close to a persimmon driver sound as a metal gets. Get the right shaft flex and don't be afraid to go with a higher loft than you THINK you need. Definitely a club for the better player, off centre hits and poor shots will be terrible, only a good swing and a good strike will be rewarded but when then they fly.... I'm hitting shots further now, with less effort than when I was 15 years younger, more supple and playing off about 3 or 4 strokes lower handicap. BUY ONE NOW THEY ARE CHEAP Customer Service Not tried yet, I suspect if its anywhere near as good as the rest of the Titleist world it should be great Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Tour Burner |
