I picked up this club for 180 dollars barely used a while ago and took it to the range for a test drive. It took me a while to get the hang of this thing, I mean a week or two. When I finally got the hang of it, I could put the ball out at about 260 or 270 during the summer. However, this driver isn't very fogiving at all, and it doesn't deliver that extra kick that I like to have right before impact. I thought the shaft was the culprit because if I wasn't in a groove I couldn't hit this driver for anything. However, it wasn't my shaft, because I have tried the club with almost every shaft and have gotten the same dissapointing results. For me, I think it's the pear shaped head that puts me down. I don't think the head shape and the considerably smaller head inspire confidence at adress. For me, this club just doesn't work, but you'll have to try it for yourself because some pro's like Jim Furyk, Luke Donald, and Ernie Ells play or have played these clubs. But, those were tour issue which are completely different. Sometimes I hit this driver well, but other times I just hit it horrible. It doesn't deliver any consistant performance for me. I never know what to expect especially on the course. I have very mixed feelings about this driver, and its hard to say if I recommend it or not, but one thing is for sure. This driver doesn't even compare to most of the other drivers made by Cleveland, Cobra, Taylormade, and others out there today. Customer Service Never used Similar Products Used: Cobra SZ 460 is the best driver out there. Buy one with one of the Aldila shafts and watch your drives explode off the tee. Awesome power in this bad boy. Not too expensive either! |

this is undoubtedly the best feeling driver. the most important thing in the driver is the shaft.u can buy the most expensive driver but if the shaft is not right it wont make ne diff. i hit this baby with grafalloy prolite shaft and it was bang on target. the shaft was perfect for me. the draw bias isn't a big problem. its easily workable both ways. u can hit wind piercing drives with spot on accuracy. i actually came in to check out the 905's. but couldn't quite get the right shaft. the titleist guy suggested i take a shot at this and damn did it feel good. i was hitting it longer, straighter, much more consistent than ne other club. tried the launcher 460- its a good club but 983 is more accurate. i am writng from india so i had to pay 400 for this. here guys don't put clearance. that sucks. this driver sounds diff when u miss the centre but still goes a decent distant( atleast in the fairway), about 260 on mis hits. when u hit centre it makes that lovely phut sound and goes over 300 absolutely love is baby and its also the best looking driver, love the finish. get one for urself but do get fitted for the shaft. i'd also like to share something. we r all advised to play cavity back irons and big head forgiving drivers coz we amateurs are not gonna hit centre.but one thing that i have experimented and seen is that the larger the clubhead the more u r gonna miss the centre. don't be afraid to hit blades and smaller drivers. just get fitted and u'll hit the centre. and u'll love the feel these supreme clubs will give. |

Titleist replaced my 975J (cracked face) with the 983K. Big difference in all respects. A superior driver that provides an excellent balance of forgiveness and feedback. Trajectory and sidespin are controllable, although I have trouble drawing anything at my age. |

Titleist 983K
The 983K has just the right amount of volume and weight attached to its clubhead. It says a lot when some of the Titleist sponsored tour pros are not even converting to the 905 series (i.e. Adam Scott). I have had some discussions with longtime Titleist loyalists who claim that the 983K is probably the best driver to come out of Titleist. I love it for the reason why some hate it: It's not too forgiving. I previously used a TM 580XD, but got tired of it when all my shots (no matter what shape or height) started to feel the same time after time. The 983K gives almost immediate feedback in this regard, and sometimes it can feel downright UGGGGGGLY. But, you will find it easier to shape your drives and trajectory. The stock shafts are a joke and everyone knows it. I ordered mine with (what else) a NV65 stiff shaft. Almost all the optional shafts are pretty good. The only one that didn't work out too well for me was the Fujikura Speeder -- largely because at 77 grams, it was simply too heavy. And I have a 105-110 mph swing. I have seen this driver on sale for less than $200 brand new. Just buy it...try it out...and if you don't like it, get better with your game and come back to it. You won't regret your purchase anyhow. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Callaway VFT Hawkeye (Boooooo!) Taylor Made 580XD |

Great Driver. Long and very forgiving. I changed the shaft to a Harrison J stiff. This combination works great for me. A good swing results in 250 yard drives. I love the feeling and sound at impact. When hit properly the ball explodes of the face. Customer Service No experience Similar Products Used: Orlimar HipTi 340, Cleveland Launcher |

I picked up this club at Nevada Bob's in Madison Wisconsin. Traded in 3 of my 5 975Js and JVSs for it. My average drive with the 975J was about 250-260 with the ability to push 270-280 if I had to, of course bringing the probability of something bad happening. With the 983K I am automatically about 5-10 yards longer. However now I have to watch out my draw doesn't turn into a hook. My driving with this club is noticeably better, however my scores aren't much better. My average score is between 75-85. I am a pretty good scrambler. I guess this shows my irons need some work. THe club is very nice. I hit the club and I like it. but the only thing is if you get the club cut down do not get a adila nv in it because it will be very stiff!!!!! I have the adila and my club is cut down to about 41" and it is now a xstiff shaft. But if u do want to get it cut down you wouold probably want a regular shaft in it. it is a very nice club if you can hit the ball on the sweet spot. the sweet spot is only as big as the ball so if you if you do hit it in the sweet spot don't get it. But I truley do like it. i've only had it for a few months and i would never change my driver. |

Picked it up for a steal on eBay ($125.00). I like the smaller head, 365cc, sounds solid at impact. It is not a point and shoot driver, took a couple of days at the range to get a handle on it, after that, it is a wonderful driver. Trajectory is the best, either straight or slight draw with the driver. Though I could produce a fade if I wanted to. You can still do ugly things with this driver with a BAD swing, but very forgiving on OK swings. Seems like the smaller head is easier to square and easier to hit closer to the sweetspot. Distance is excellent and nice little roll at the end. I am a 16 handicap and would recommend driver to anyone (almost anyone, if you have a really, really UGLY swing, you should elect to go with one of those monster 460cc drivers). But if you want looks, feel, distance, and confidence, try out the 983K. Customer Service Never had to use them. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made R580, R580 XD, Macgregor V-Foil, etc. |

I've waited about 6 months after buying this driver to review it. This club absolutely tatoos the golf ball; I have added almost 30 yards to my drives. I have recently hit my furthest drive witht this club, a 330 bomb with no wind and a flat fairway. The only problem that I have with this club is that it seems to promote a draw which doesnt help when you already have one, but other than that it is a truly amazing club. This club is amazing! Im not a big hitter and when I get a club with not much loft in my hands, I seem to suddenly put a huge cut/slice on everything. But when I hit this club on the range, I was hitting it dead centre and 270+ yards. I was so impressed, I tried it out on my local course and managed to hit it about 300yards so I was very pleased. This club was my dad's but I am so impressed that I am going to buy one for myself. Even though this club is a big name driver, just because you may be a high-handicapper, it doesn't mean you wont be able to hit this club because you probably will. :) Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Taylormade 200 steel series 10.5* |
