Titleist 983K Titanium Drivers

Titleist 983K Titanium Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The 983K driver features a 365cc full pear profile. The larger head size compared to the 983E, produces a moderate launch angle and higher moment of inertia for playability. The slightly heel-biased internal weighting and deeper CG produce a moderate spin rate and an easy-to-square face. The result is a highly playable driver with an ideal initial trajectory, and long downrange flight.

I could not be happier with this club. I am a Titleist Superfan...every club in the bag is from Titleist. I had the 975D in the bag, but thought that I was missing out on new technology. After using this club with the new PRO VIx, I will have to say that the Pros have an unfair advantage. I have the Graphite Design YS-6 Stiff Flex Shaft (@105 mph swing speed) and with ease I hit it 280-290. It is about a 10-15 yard net gain from the 975D. However, I see more of a difference on the mis-hits. When I mis-hit the 975D I paid a sever price. With this head (which sets-up nicely if you had the 975D) I can miss one and still be close to the fairway if not still on it. I would suggest this club to anyone who's looking for the latest in technology. Don't forget to test the PRO V1x with the driver...it does make a difference!

Call me a great Titleist fan. I have used all their drivers from 975D to 975L-FE to now 983K. Its a great piece of equipment especially the well design head. This time it has given us club golfers distance that only pros can hit. Using the 983k Titleist 4550 soft r flex I have been hit the back net of the driving range which I have never done with the other Titleist models. This a great driver. Let me remind you that its the shaft that help you to give the distance & the accuracy. Given that the its a bore through driver at least 6 inch, which one must take into account in ordering shafts that suit your swing profile. I normally use regular for other drivers but for Titleist I use soft R. Recommended for handicap 18 & below. Its a easy driver to use

I got the 983k 9.5 degree with a speeder shaft (stiff) in march 03 and have had the opportunity to play about 15 rounds with it. I previously had the hawk eye vft pro series driver but wanted to get in on the latest technology. This is the best driver I ever hit and it almost feels like I am cheating. The biggest difference I noticed is that this club flys a lot higher but still produces a lot of roll after it touches down. I am 6'2" 220 lbs and with a normal swing hit this club 250-275 in the air and get about 30 yard of roll. Lately it has been dry and I am averaging about 290 in distance. The great thing is I dont have to swing hard. All I think about is balance and tempo and the club does the rest. If I do make a mistake it is usally a slight block but it is not the club it's me. Also, if you duck hook every once in a while get this club, it is easy to produce a high fade but I have not had a single duck hook on the course or at the range which I would get about 1 every fifty drives with my old driver. The 983k in combination with my Apex Pro irons have keept me in the 70's all year so far. The only part of my bag that i think can improve is my fairway wood but if the new titlest fairway woods (out in june) can do the same thing for me then all I will need to worry about is reading the birdie put right. Geat confidence club, worth every penny.

I have been using a 975D driver 10.5 degree for a few years now and thought I would try some of the new technology. Since I have a slight fade to my longer clubs I was looking for something that would either keep with the slight fade or promote a little straighter flight. I first tried a taylor made R580 driver and I was very dissapointed it did not fit my swing at all, it made me fade the ball more than my normal shot with my 975D. I then traded it in for the 983K driver and could not be more pleased. I have played aroung 150 holes with the club so far and it actually has me with a slight draw off the box, and my confidence to hit the fairway has never been better. I would recommend this club to anyone who has a left to right ball flight with the driver. I am very pleased with it.

In the begining of every golf season I read the reviews for the new drivers. After reading so many positive reviews about the Taylormade R580 I purchased one on ebay. Cardinal sin. Wouldn't you know it, I didn't like the way it felt or performed on the course. I immediately went to my local pro shop and asked if they had a 983K demo that I could take to the driving range (I didn't realize but allot of pro shops allow you to do this with a credit card on file). This is the driver for me, I hit it 15 yards further than my 975J. It has great feel on perfect and not so perfect impact. Even though Titleist claims that this driver is for a low handicap golfer I must disagree. It is for a golfer of any ability level. However, as I said before even though I think and allot of other people think that this is a great driver take it out to the driving range first. Hitting a few balls into a net 8 feet away will give you no idea. This is just my opion.

A very solid, forgiving driver. Internal weighting promotes a draw, but for a person who already draws the ball, can get an occasional duck hook. Decent sized sweetspot, but the most impressive thing is that most clubface can be hit and still provide acceptable results. Though starting to get to the VW on a stick big driver look, still has pleasing aesthetics with great seamless welding that provides my biggest drives so far.

Best driver on the market. I played the 976J a few rounds late last year, but have always considered my off label trident SS360Ti equipped with Bimatrix Rxi-Xstiff the ultimate benchmark as that driver is flatout long and straight. However, thus far this season at the range and on 2 rounds with the new 983K, 8.5 degree with Speeder stiff, this is even longer, and just as straight with a nice built in draw(could be my swing). As long as you make good contact with this driver, it just does not sway off center and turning it up a notch produces even more response provided once again, good contact is made. I was fortunate to have recieved this as a gift, but would certainly have bought one of these this year after trying one out. Highly, no, very highly recommend this to any golfer, don't care about handicaps or who shoots what, this driver is a game enhancer, like adding steroids to your current driver, and then some.

Customer Service

have not needed for this club, but I've used titleist in the past for label replacements, etc, and they are always very receptive and prompt on your needs.

I play NCAA D.1 golf and need high performance clubs to go with my game and the 983K is just that. I have always used Titleist products: my woods, irons, wedges, balls and even the bag i carry. I have been using the 975J since last season and i didnt think my driver could get any better but i was wrong. Our coach brought demo clubs to our first formal pratice last week and i was impressed with the feel and performance of the driver. I switched two days later. I'll also probaly give the fairway woods a try too.

Simply the best driver I have ever played thus far. I am 18 years old and will be playing golf at the college level this fall. My first driver was the Titleist 975D and have played that ever since last week. My distance with the 975D was on average 275 yards. With the 983K I average no less then 295 a round. The new plasma welding on this driver is a real improvement leaving no imperfections. The full pear shaped head at 365cc means a much larger sweet spot. With a variety of shaft options, this driver can be used by any golfer at any level. However, it is meant to be used by golfers with a faster swing speed and for those who are looking for less spin. When used with the new PRO V1 X, you will be unstoppable. If you are looking for a similar driver, the newest line of Taylor Made drivers also offer the plasma welding. However, nothing matches the Titlest 983K.

I innocently walked into my local pro shop to pick up some PRO V-1x's (I don't care for them by the way) and in the way was the newest batch of Titleist 983 drivers in my way. Needless to say, damn the GBB II I just purchased 25 days earlier. Hitting the 983k on the sweet spot is why we weekend hackers love the game so much. That being said, we weekend golfers rarely hit the magical "g-spot" of golf except maybe 2 or 3 times a round. However, when swung correctly and with sweet spot contact, there is nothing like the 983k. It is those rare drives we will vividly remember. A tingling in your balls lets you know you just ripped a 285 yard fairway eating Titleist Pro V-1 into the Grandma in the group ahead of you. The best looking Driver on the market and the best feeling one. Longer than my GBB II PS and my conforming 540 Taylor Made. Much more forgiving than the old J models. Hit it, Fall in love with it. Then spank the ball past your buddies. It's pricey, but as my son says, "Buy Quality Dad, you only cry once"
