983K 9.5*,
Shot in the 85-95 range, i consider myself an average player. I used to believe that Titliest is only for better players, but i was wrong for this 983K. I have been using Callaway VFT 9* for about a year, never be able to hit with full swing, mis-hits were punished by bad hooks. I started this season looks for a new driver. Demo new several clubs including King Cobra SS350,380,427cc, Cleveland Launcher400, Callaway GBBII, TaylormadeR580. I don't know what others say, but i hate the R580. The GBBII is very similar to the VFT I owned. KingCobra is very to hit, but bad shots turned to be bad hooks. Cut down my choices to Cleveland Launcher400 and 983K, tried the same shaft to compare how i really feel with the head, also measured the swing speed and ball speed. After several shots, the result was clear. I hit more consistant with 983K, with better trajectory, with faster ball speed, and a bit more distance (about 10 yards, really! compared to Launcher400). So i decided to pay more and get this awesome club. Give it a try! It may be easier than you think. It may be expensive, but will worth every penny you spend. I have had this club now for 3 weeks, this is the first review I have written and this is the club that has compelled me to write a review. This club has significantly added yardage and consistency and realistically there is nothing else I could ask for in a driver. I have demoed all of the latest drivers and for me the 983k was hands down the best club, I didn't want to spend the 375 but in the end I bought it. Oh how I love hitting a drive and just watching it go and go and go and then having this ridiculous smile on my face that just won't go away. The price is high but so are all the other overpriced drivers and this one is wayyyyy better! Customer Service Have never called. Great club. I owned the 975D for years. I did not switch to the J ,but when I tried this club I had to switch.Distance is better than my D, not by much on really good swings but the overall distance is about 20 yards longer. The K is much more forgiving and accurate and easier to hit than the D. This is what I really enjoy about this club, I hit my D far and was not looking for more distance but I got that with more accuracy in the K I recommend getting fit for the driver. I worked with my pro and the titleist rep and you would be surprised at what the shaft can do to your ball flight and the way the club feels. We finally went with the graphite design ys 9.1, a heavier shaft and I can not be happier. I am one who does not by a lot of clubs, I stick with what I got and it must be a big improvement for me to buy a new club. I recommend this club to any one Customer Service Titleist customer service is great, have used them in the past and they have been terrific. Similar Products Used: 975D |

I had bought a Taylormade 510, and while it was a good driver, I found after demo'ing the Titleist that it was, for me at least, a lot better club in terms of accuracy and control. Fortunately I was able to trade my Taylormade's (driver and 3 wood) for the Titleist and only was an additional 100 dollars out of pocket. I wouldn't say this is a "longer" club than the TM, but I would say it is much more controllable for me, and much more accurate. Customer Service Very good, play 690 CB irons and Vokey wedges, always had a positive response from the Titleist folks when I had questions. Before this dirver, I use Nike Forged driver which is very nice too,but once I try this one. I can't resist it. This dirver is long and accurate. And the size just good enough to shape the ball and minimize some of the miss hit because the sweet spot is so big. Give it a try, you may know how good it is. Customer Service Not touch yet. Titleist 983k 9.5 YS-6 stiff
This is the first Titleist driver I have owned. I recently purchased a 13.5 975f with a stiff Prolite and was/am very impressed with the solid feel and, well, the overall feel of quality it has. And it also sends the ball a long ways with great accuracy...great club. I haven't shot below 90 yet (90 once last year) but I hit woods pretty well. My short game? hmm, needs ALOT of improvement but that's another story :) The 983k is a wonderful driver. I took it out on the course for the first time yesterday. It still had the sticker around the shaft and the S on the sole-I was going to try it out and if it it didn't wow me-I mean almost $400 worth of WOW-eBay was it's next stop before it got any use. Well, as I was hitting a small bucket to warm up before my 9 holes, I hit about a half a dozen balls with the K. Easy swings......first the sticker on the shaft, then the S on the bottom came off and I smiled. I had found my driver! My on-the-course experience affirmed my feelings. While I didn't improve by 30 yards over my SMT Baltusrol 9.5, I did hit drives on two holes in places I had never been before. And every drive went straight or had a little draw. Let me reinterate: This is a great club! Will be in my bag for several years....so, I am actually changing my value rating from a 4 to a 5 since the $$$$ I spent, tho alot for a club, is now looking like $$ well spent. I would have to say that Titleist has done it again. I have always played Titleist drivers, and this is the all around best. It allows better players to work the ball when needed while allowing more forgiveness thatn any previous model. I don't know that it has improved my distance but I certainly have more confidence that before. I have been hitting more fairways than ever before. I tried the 983e and the 983k and settled on the 983k. I like the little extra head size. Also, I love the prolite shaft in X flex compared to the cheaper Fujikura on the E I tried. All around a great club if you can afford it. Customer Service Titleist tends to be a little slow on the response to emails. Better to call. Similar Products Used: R580, gbb2, ping si3 |

This driver has come a long way from the older titleist drivers because it is so much more forgiving but with that said it is also not as solid as the older models like the 975D and 975JVS,LFE. Like many other have said it will increase the numbers of fairways you hit but don't expect 20-30 yard gains on your drives, 30 yards is a lot of yards! I have read a lot of exagerations regarding the review of this club but i understand people get excited. Nevertheless this is a very good club the distance is better then average but where this club really beats the rest is in accuracy it's almost as if you are playing a fairway wood. If the ball does leak left or right it is not by much. I would recommend this club to anyone who has trouble with overswinging and erratic ball flight. The beauty of this club is you can swing as hard as you want and get amazing results or tone it down a bit and still get descent results. The only drawback of this club is the feedback. The older Titleist models really let you know when you hit an off center shot but with this there is a more muted feel. Definately demo the club before you buy because i have seen some diehard Titleist followers avoid this club because of the lack of feedback. For me however this is the best driver i've ever hit and will stay in my bag a long, long time. Over my lifetime i have used many drivers, but this one is unbelivable.with the 367cc pear shaped head it looks great. Ive tried the nike 400cc diver, and the Big Bertha 2, alsothe taylor made 560 and the cleveland 400. This diver has increased my distance 30 average and i would definatly recommend this diver to u. even though i only 15 I have a low handicap. So belive me its great!!!!!
