Titleist 983K Titanium Drivers

Titleist 983K Titanium Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The 983K driver features a 365cc full pear profile. The larger head size compared to the 983E, produces a moderate launch angle and higher moment of inertia for playability. The slightly heel-biased internal weighting and deeper CG produce a moderate spin rate and an easy-to-square face. The result is a highly playable driver with an ideal initial trajectory, and long downrange flight.

Aside from my old 962bs and the Pro Vx I've been using lately, Titleist has rarely found its way into my rotation, if only for the fact that they are top-of-the-line, price-wise, even in resale. Which I guess is a good thing...Anyway, for what its worth, I must say that the 983 has found a permanent home in my bag. No real flaws here unless your looking for ultra forgiving, but then again, if that was your mission, someone steered you in the wrong direction. The slogan rings true, the club is for serious golfers. Not that its only for the elite, but if you find yourself blaming the club, you might need to shave off a couple more strokes. All in all, a great club. It will only translate the message your swing is giving. No miracles, just a solid performer. And the 983k-Pro Vx combo has made the tee-box a downright slap-happy place to be. As with all new clubs, demo it first, then get fitted, THEN plunk down the cash. When you do those things, youll never get ripped off. Hit 'em straight.

Customer Service

Most people have good things to say about Titleist's service, I'm no different. They don't sell a billion dollars worth of stuff because they're jerks.

Best Looking/Feeling/Most Solid Driver Ever...get it with the NV shaft. Don't believe the Quad7 Hype-Taylor will have another "revolutionary" driver out in a few months and the hype will be over. Interchangable screws?-what's next? Taylor pays every golfer more $ to play Taylormade stuff

I just received this driver and I have to say that it's the best. This driver is equal if not longer than all the competitors and more accurate. Not only that it looks better than TM and Callaway's offerings. No wonder Ernie and Phil use it. the price isn't even that bad if you can find a good deal on eBay! The Aldila NV shaft is great! This is a long driving, fairway finding machine!

Model Reviewed: Titleist 983K driver

I just recently purchased the 983 driver and I must say that I am very happy with my purchase. I was playing with a Calloway VFT for the past few years and always wanted a Titleist driver. It seemed that I could never hit the previous models as well as I could hit my Calloway. After playing this past weekend with the 983 I don't know if I will ever put the VFT back in my bag. All I can say is that I have not had many days where I hit my driver as long and consistent as I did with this driver. I can't wait to go and play again. As with any club it is important to hit it first and buy what is best for your swing. This is a great club and I think that many who hit it will find it works well for them too.

Customer Service

I have never had to deal with customer service so I have no input on this issue.

Ok so here is the story. I work at Golf Galaxy in Naperville and have hit every driver out there. Recently I was using the Taylormade R580XD which in my opinion is a high performance fairway seeking weapon. My beef with it however was how hard it is to square that huge 460cc head. I used to use the CALLAWAY, not Calloway like the other guy in this form says, VFT. I liked it and I could square it easily. Now with the 983K I hit it ten yards farther and a whole lot straighter. Workability is at an alltime high and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. The only other good choice is the Taylormade R7 that kicks ass too.

Customer Service

Having worked at a golf store I know that they are FREEKIN TERRIBLE but that doesn't stop me from wanting to play my best. If they had Callaway's Customer Service they would be the best golf brand in the world hands down.

Alright, I'm not going to tell you a spirited account of my last round, nor will I tell you how tall I am or how fast my swing speed is. Simply put, the 983 K is the best driver I have hit. Similar to the 975 J in a lot of ways but also different in a lot of ways. Bigger head, bigger sweet spot. I have the Grafalloy pro-lite. I was carrying the 983 K consistently 10-15 yards further than the J. Again I will not talk about specific distance. I liked the driver a lot, the only downfall is it is a little bit bigger club face than I like and it is much harder to work the ball compared to the 975 J.

I am not a fan of upgrading my equipment just because technology has changed. Prior to the 983K, I had been using the Calloway VFT which I bought to replace my old persimmon driver. Loved the VFT, but I had a tendency to duck-hook it due to the light weight. I had a chance to demo the 983K free of charge the other week and my game literaly changed that round! I shot a 77 on a new course without even trying. The next five rounds with it I have hit just about every fairway long and straight and been in the 70s each time! After thinking about it, this change is due entirely to the feel of the club. While it is perfect for me, it may not be for others. I like the weight (much heavier than the VFT and more like my old persimmon). I can feel where the club head is during my entire swing and it allows me to make more consistent swings which results in increased distance and accuracy. Before you buy, go and demo one first. Tee it high!

Tee it high with this club. I've added 10 - 20 yards by changing the ball position I use with this driver. May sound strange but if you own a 983K, try it.
