Titleist 983K- 9.5 Speeder Stiff
Although this driver gets rave reviews, I believe that the draw bias is too pronounced and the pear shape is too large. It actually looks bigger at address than my 380cc GBBII. Nevertheless, this driver has the hottest face in golf. The only reason I bought this driver is so that it could match my 15* 980F. Overall, it's a good driver. Try it, but also try the GBBII. Customer Service Customer service is not as good as Callaway. I sent Titleist an email about a shaft, and it took them three days to reply. I sent Callaway an email, and they gave me a PHONE CALL within 3 hours. No contest Similar Products Used: Callaway GBBII 10* Firm |

Titleist 983K
I recently started shopping for a less lofted driver than what I already have (10.5* Taylormade Burner 420). I tried Cobra 400SZ, Titleist 983K and Taylormade R580 for 2 full weeks before I made my decision. Even though Cobra and Taylormade were good drivers, they simply did not have the feel Titleist has. The sound is not muffled and loud like the other drivers; it is more of a cracking sound when struck solid. I would highly recommend a slower tempo with the 983K. The head of the club is a little heavier in my opinion compared to some other drivers which helps increasing the clubhead speed at impact. In the most narrow fairway I know (with water along one side), I hit my furthest drive of 315 yards (my previous being 285 yards). I would highly resommend not to get the stock Titleist shaft. Stiff Graffaloy and YS-6 are very similar in feel and ball flight. I was told that the Fujikura Speeder shaft is not much different than these two either. Customer Service No Experience. Titleist 983K 9.5 w/ stiff Aldila NV LH
I have always been a Taylor Made man. First i had the Taylor Made Firesole, then the 360, and then the R580. Loved them all. I had always wanted a Titleist driver but never wanted to pay the money for it. I finally decided on the 983K with the NV shaft. by the way the NV is by far the best shaft on the market. the same time i started usin the 983K i started playing the pro v1X. this has got to be the best combination. b4 switchin i was hittin my r580 with the regular prov1 on avg about 270-280. now with the 983k and the pro v1x im averaging 290-300. Titleist makes the best golf clubs without a doubt. i know a lot of people think the bigger than head the better. i believe with a smaller club head...you tend to concentrate more on your shot therefore you will be more consistent. the 983K will be the only driver i play for a long while. atleast till titleist comes out with a new driver which should be soon! Titleist 983K driver
This driver is by far the best driver I have ever hit in my life. Im doing things with this driver I never thought I could have done before. My first day on the course with this thing I drove a 305 yd par 4 in one, and hit a 522 yard par 5 in 2 (second shot with 6 iron). I am only 15 years old and not really strong at all, which just goes to show how much this can do for your game. My driving distance has gone up from about 250 to a maximum of 300, I am also hitting it much straighter. With 9.5 degrees loft and a regular flex shaft, this driver produces almost perfect trajectory. Buy it! Customer Service Not used yet. I won this driver at a demo day. I was never so impressed with any driver as I am with this one. First I must let you know that I am a leftie, and had a fade when my driver was not working. This club has taken care of that,I now can fade the ball at will,or hit it straight,no problem. I find that I need to tee up the ball a little higher for optimum performance. The contact feed back is excellent and solid. I have increased my distance by at least 30 yds and am amazing my golfing Buddies with my 280-290 yd drives considering I am 57 years old. I will not even look at another driver Customer Service no need Similar Products Used: Adams 11.5 steel head Callaway great big bertha Taylormade 580 |

Titleist 983K 9.5 Fujikura Stiff
I've reviewed this club once already, but I am writing a follow up review after having played this club for a while. I still believe this club hits it really long, really high, and feels solid and stable. However I have noticed a few things I don't like about it. The stock Fujikura shaft (Says "Speeder" on it) doesn't hold up for higher swing speeds. My average driver swing speed is between 110 MPH and 115 MPH. I could probably go Extra-Stiff in some cases but in the case of the original shaft it came with, it is way to flexible. At first try the shaft seems firm and responsive - much better than shafts that come in Taylor Made drivers which are mushy and whippy. And to anyone that swings in the low 100's MPH the shaft is probably fine. But if you unload on it, you will find that your ball will balloon and loop a lot. I am putting Grafalloy BLUE shaft in mine. Another thing that I have come to realize that I don't particularly like as much is the heal biased weight in the head. This can be good or bad. If you already play a draw then you might want to watch out. I play a natural draw and when I first demo'd and bought this club I liked it because I it drew so well. however, after playing with it for a while and playing with it in tournaments under some pressure, I realized that my misses can some times become a hook if I don't watch out. This can be really scary for those of you right to lefter's . I am going to experiment with a piece of lead tape on the toe of the club to neutralize the weight. Over all I am still pleased with the club. It is solid and long. If I had to do it all over again I would still buy this club but with a different shaft or try the 983E. You just have to try this club. Amazing driver, I never that I'd find anything better than my launcher 400(aldila). Went to Golfsmith and try it on simulator, every drive was way over 300 yrds. on simulator. In real life, I get about the same distance from them ~ 285 average but titleist feel a lot more solid at impact, more controllable. The best thing is, I don't need those giant tee to launch them because of the shallower head (smaller too). |

Titleist 983K
What can I say, all the great reviews are true. I demoed a 9.5 983 K at my country club and bought one the next day. My playing buddy bought one a month ago and his driving improved immediately, plus he was besting me 20-30 yards. Now I have him about 10-20 yards, which is a major improvement in my distance. We both find you need to groove your swing and not try to kill the ball, a normal swing and the ball takes off like a rocket. I also agree with teeing a little higher. Combined with Mizuno Mx-23's (had MP-30's) my game is nibbling down to where it used to be....on the verge of some scores in the 70's, life is good !! Titleist 983k
I just purchased the 983k and could not be more impressed. I have had Callaway Big Bertha's for years and never really felt comfortable hitting my driver as it was very inconsistant. I recently tried a friends Callaway ERC Fusion and was hitting it very well so I decided to demo some other clubs in comparison before I made the big purchase. I tried Taylor Made, Callaway Cobra Cleveland and Titleist and the 2 I hit the best were the Titleist and the Cleveland. After checking these out at the driving range and the swing monitor I was told that I was hitting the Titleist with the Aldilla Nv65S shaft the best. I purchased the club and headed for the driving range to further my study. It was very close for me between the Titleist and the Cleveland and there was a $100 savings with the Cleveland but I felt more comfortable with the reputation of Titleist and I was told I hit this club better on the monitor.Anyway after hitting the club pretty consistantly on the range I went out on the course with a real golf ball and oh my God what a difference. My very first hit was 275 and straight down the fairway ! I continued to hit shot after shot from 260-285 and have never had a better feel in my life. I am totally sold on this club and I'm ready to trade in my Callaway fairways for the Titleist 980f. Also , I tried every shaft Titlest offers and was amazed how good the Aldilla Nv shaft felt and how well I was able to hit it consistantly. My golf enjoyment meter just rose 80%. This club is worth every dime I paid for it. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Callaway ERC, Cobra, Tailor Made, Cleveland Launcher |
