Titleist 983K
I have a 983K with adila stiff shaft. This driver is great. Even with a smaller head, it has forgiveness on off-center hits and if you get it on the sweet spot the ball really goes. I never hit 300 yard drives untill I purchased this driver. I currently average 250 to 260 yards in the fairway. If you are looking for a great product from a reputable company then buy this driver. |

Titleist 983K 9.5
These reviews are promising. I hit the 983K 9.5 the other day and found no fault with it. I use a 10.5* R580 currently, but I'm looking for a club that can tame Black Bear in Eustis, FL. The course has elevated tee boxes that drop significantly more than a flatland course into the fairways. The R580 I have has the same characteristics that the other comparisons have drawn for other clubs, a "floating" drive. This doesn't work @ Black Bear, where the elevation drops and afternoon winds can just make that "floater" a very average shot. The R580 is going 260-280, some here are saying 20 yards more, well, I'm going to hold you to it and expect 280-300 consistently. I'm going to pass on the 983K @ 365 cc and go after the clone of it, a Dynacraft 380L @ 380 cc. As for shafts, I decided on the Rifle 65 graphite, which compares favorably in terms of weight with all the 63-67g shafts Titleists offers. It has the same torque rating of the Fujikura Speeder, but not the weight. Bigger head and sweetspot of the 380L w/ similar shaft and this should work nicely. BTW, prices have dropped somewhat on the 983K, the R7 is the most expensive toy out there now, so I give the 983K a 5 on both value and overall ratings. |

Titleist 983K
Bought new at the beginning of '03. Loved the club even with the stock Speeder shaft. Middle of '04 a friend suggested that I reshaft with a Penley ETA tour. My gooddness did this club just come alive!! More stable and solid, better accuracy, lower ball flight, AND more distance even going from 45" to 44 1/2". I feel 365cc head is perfect. 460cc is just to big to work the ball. Even though I liked the club before the reshaft, I still tried everything just to compare. NO MORE SEARCHING! IMO, the 983K head and Penley ETA tour shaft are the best combo to be had. Customer Service none needed. Similar Products Used: Ping TISI, Cobra SS 380, GBB hawkeye, TM 360. |

Titleist 983k 9.5 Grafolloy Prolite stiff
This is truley a great driver. The combination of the 9.5 degree head and the Grafalloy Prolite shaft in stiff gives you low penetraiting ball flight. One thing though the shaft in stiff is realy stiff I had mind frequency tested with the grip on at 44.5 inches in length at 276cpm that is actually a x-stiff reading so be careful when choosing the right shaft. All and all this is the best driver I have ever used and it will be some time before I take it out of my bag. This is hands down the best driver i have ever laid hands on! i recieved one for free from a titleist rep with an upgraded fujikura speeder 952 prototype. After the first swing i took i knew that this was the club! great feel and distance! I chucked my 510tp the next day1 this club is perfect for even high handicapper, i swing the club at 111 mph and average about 300+ yards of carry, my swing hasn't changed but i am leaving the other kids that i play with in tournaments 30 yards behind me on every tee shot. Customer Service not needed! Similar Products Used: Every thing offered. Taylor made 510tp, cleveland launcher, 330 400 460, nike ignite, srixon w-302(great and underrated club!) |

Titleist 983K w/a stiff Grafalloy Prolite
After selling my old driver, I had made up my mind that my next driver was going to be a Taylor Made (the hype probably played a major role in this decision) decided to try different drivers. I demoed at my local course a Taylor Made R580XD with a stock stiff graphite shaft and a Titleist 983K with an Aldila NV-75S. Even though, the R580XD produced more distance than the 983K, I did not have any feedback after hitting my drives. For example after hitting a drive on the 16th hole, a 400 yards par 4, and not seing the trajectory, I did like most golfers after missing a shot, I cursed at the club. But after getting to my ball, I found out that I was within 100 yards of the green and in the middle of the fairway! After trying them on my local course and disliking the feel of the R580XD but loving the feel of the 983K (a loud rock-solid crack), I decided to try other models at my local Golf Town store. I tried various models in their screen other than the one previously cited like the Taylor Made R7 and the R510 TP. Although these screens don't show true distance, they are fairly precise in showing the trajectory and there's obviously no difference in the feel. Anyways, after not being impressed with the other models, I knew that the Titleist 983K was the next driver I was going to buy. After choosing the driver, I had to choose the shaft because Titleist offers a variety of shafts. I have a pretty good swing with an average swing speed of ~105 mph with average drives of ~280 yards in normal playing conditions. My normal trajectory is a natural draw. After testing all the shafts available, I came to the conclusion that I was hitting too high the Graphite Design YS-6, the Aldila NV-65 and the stock Titleist 4560 shafts and I was hitting to low with the Fujikura Speeder (keep in mind that this driver is a bore-through so it plays a bit stiffer than non bore-through drivers) the ideal shaft for me was clearly the Grafalloy Prolite shaft with 9.5* of loft. After selecting all of my specs, I bought it on Ebay. The prices have recently gone down on Ebay, you should definitely take a look. After using it for a couple of months I have concluded that this is the best feeling club according to me, although this varies from people to people. For example, my neighbour bought a Taylor Made R580XD because he loved the soft butter feel. My only complaint is that the draw bias in this driver sometimes goes against me because I have a natural draw so I have my periods where I do “Mega-Hooks” as my buddies at my home course have affectionately called them. Maybe you should try to consider the 983E if you have a natural draw because of its neutral weighing. In conclusion, this driver is probably not the longest one on the market, but if you prefer a rock-solid crack, you should definitely consider this driver. Customer Service Haven't used it yet, but one of my friends who broke his Titleist 975J and sent it to the company, got it replaced with a brand new 983E. Don't try emailing them though I have asked them a question via email ~2 months ago and have not receive an answer yet. titleist 983k
I have played the Titleist 983k for several months. Initially, I found it to be long and straight. However, I always felt a tendency to a high, right ball flight. I chalked this up to swing mechanics, assuming that a club of such high review and quality most certainly was/is not to blame. Most recently, I underwent a thourough three hour session that analyzed my swing, ball flight, spin, launch, ball speed, clubhead speed, etc, etc. In addition, each club in my bag was analyzed. Come to find out, my "9.5" loft IS ACTUALLY 11 degrees and the clubface IS OPEN 1 degree. I have always believed in being fitted but now realize how a stock club, off the shelf of a quality golf store does not guarantee the true character of the club. I have hit an accurate "loaner" and do fing the club to be fantastic and solid. So before you post a negative review of any club, make sure you have what you think you have. In some cases it IS the arrow, not the indian. Customer Service Currently waiting for the club to be returned, fixed, or replaced. I am hoping there is no hitch. Titleist 983K
I have been hitting the 983K for about a year now. I started out with the "E" and switched to the "K" (preferred the ball flight more of the K). I have owned numerous drivers, but this is the most solid of them all; i.e. accuracy, distance, forgiveness. I don't know what Titleist has in store for the next version, but they surely have a winner with the 983. Customer Service None needed. Worked with my local rep. to optimize shaft and loft. There is no better feeling driver in golf. The first time you hit this club you will feel what im talking about. The ball explodes off the club face. I have tried the taylor made r7, and callaway gbbII, They dont compare. my head speed averages around 120 mph, and i agree that the fujikura speeder is beginning to breakdown a bit, i will replace it with the grafalloy blue. Before this club i averaged about 290-300, now it has become apparent that i cant use driver on short par 4s because 340 yards is reachable. My furthest was 343 measured on gps, with a titleist pro v1x, a lethal combination. I love this club, i also feel that my control is much better, being able to control a power fade, and a low draw in high winds.
