Titleist 975L-FE Drivers

Titleist 975L-FE Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A tour-proven 350cc driver that is 12% larger than the 975J but features the same great profile. The head size and weight distribution enhance players who prefer a straight to fading ball flight.

It is the best Driver I have ever hit!! If the price was a little lower it would find its way into my bag immediately. The BiMatrx shaft makes it go farther and more accurate that jsut a regular graphite shaft.

I will definitely keep this in my bag. I have been using it since August 2002. When the Callaway Big Berth II came out, I tried it to compare it to the 975J-FE. Not even close. Both were about the same in carry distance but the Titleist rolled a good 25-40 yards farther after the carry distance. It just seems to hit the ground hotter with a more boring flight and doesn't stop rolling. If I let off a little I can go right but is very liveable. Conversely, If I go after it, I don't have to worry about losing it left. As advertised, it takes out the big hook.

975J-LFE 8.5* with Fujikura speeder shaft. Most accurate driver I have ever used averaging 95%+ of fairways. Slightly less distance than new Taylor Made 500 series but better feedback and control.

Switched from a 975D 8.5 degree loft with Pro-Force 75 shaft to the 975L-FE 8.5 degrre loft with the prolite shaft. I wanted a slightly higher ball flight for more carry and to counter my tendency to over hook the ball. Well overall the ball flight is slightly lower but it has helped with the hook. Overall distance is good due to the added roll, but I would still like more air time. I like the driver even though it has a somewhat muted feel as compared to the D, but not a hollow or coke can sound. Currently trying different shafts to get a better launch angle. I would recommend going to a demo day and trying the different lofts and shaft options before spending top dollar buying one off the shelf. This club denfinetly has a lower ball flight than the J or D, so if you do decide to buy off the shelf (impulse buy like I did) go with the higher loft (ie.. 9.5 vs. 8.5 would have been a better fit for me). Besides it is probably easier to reshaft to lower your ball flight than it is increasing your ball flight. I believe with the right loft and shaft fit this is a driver that will deliver good ball control and distance to anyone. P.S. - Golf Galaxy return policy was less than appealing, offered me a whopping 225.00 trade in value for the same driver I bought from them 3 days before for 425.00. WHAT A DEAL !!!!

Just plain bad, there is really no sweet spot on this club even though the head is 350cc. It seems to me like Titleist is trying to much to appeal to only people who have under a ten handicap. I have used many other drivers and this is by far the worst.

This is by far, the best players driver Titleist has put on the market. Which is odd, as it is also the largest at 350cc. I ordered mine with a Graphite Design YS-7 XS and paid about $20 for the upgrade, well worth it. Overall, this club doesn't feel hollow or produce a "clank" like the J or JVS but is very solid, more like the D. I found it easy to work both ways and as long as any conforming driver on the market (and I have tried most). But don't take if from me, this driver won the US Amatuer and men's NCAA this year. These are guys who are NOT paid to play the clubs in their bag

Customer Service

Past experiences with Titleist have been slow, this one only took about 2 weeks.

I don't know what the previous review was talking about how short the 975L-FE is. I find it easily as long as the 975J and maybe a little bit longer. I've been playing the 975J for over year now. I really liked the club, however, I had the tendency to put a hook on the club every now and again. Also it was difficult for me to put a fade on the ball. After looking at the 975L-FE I thought this would be the perfect club for me. After playing this club for over the last month. I have NO doubt that I made the right choice. I hit this club STRAIGHT, and have more control then over my older 975J. This club is owesome. If you are a person that Draws the ball, and you feel like your doing it to much then this is the club for YOU.

I purchased this club due to its fade enhancing design. The club had a Graphite Design YS-6 stiff shaft and is 8.5 degree loft. This club definitely promotes a right to left trajectory, but i was disappointed with the distance. I reshafted with my reference Fujikura Six stiff shaft and was still not satisfied with the distance. I would give the lean to a 975J over this club unless you absolutely, positively have to eliminate the left side of the course!

Great driver- I prevously played the Titleist 975 J (8.5) which was a great club but did not allow for many bad hits. I currently have the L-FE with the prolite shafts (9.5) and could not be happier with it. It is much more forgiving than the j model plus the bigger head gives me the confidence to go ahead and wack the ball. Another thing, this driver does not make that ping sound that most of the drivers today make.

I just recieved a 975 LFE as a gift and to be honest I absolutly hate it. It feels funny, and sounds funny. Very much like the last Titleist driver I hit ( a 976R.) Much less consistent in distance and accuracy than my TiSi tec. I'm posting it on E-bay tomorrow.
