Titleist 975L-FE Drivers

Titleist 975L-FE Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A tour-proven 350cc driver that is 12% larger than the 975J but features the same great profile. The head size and weight distribution enhance players who prefer a straight to fading ball flight.

Great club. I played the 975J for years and sold it to get a 975J-VS. Just for the record, I regreat selling the J. The VS did not do much for me. But the LFE is a good club. Long with a straight to fade ball flight. I would rather draw the ball (which I was doing with the J). Incidentally, I could not draw with the VS, which is designed to do just that. I wander why, maybe the face is too hot hot for me to impart any spin at all. But the LFE at least is long: longer than the VS in my hands, althought I do not think that it is much longer than the J. Price is stiff but worth it. Quality club.g

I have the new Bimatrx shaft, stiff, with 9.5* of loft. Very nice combination. Tried the YS-6, Speeder, Proforce and stock shaft. Liked the Bimatrx the best. It is designed for the player who likes to hit straight or fade the ball... not necessarily what I was after... but I like the results I get. I usually hit it straight and on occassion get a mild fade. I think this driver is very nice. I bought the ERC when I heard it would be legal January 1st. Then the USGA and R&A backed off that proposal and it will remain illegal, so I wanted a driver I could use in tourmanents. I tried many and decided on the 975L-FE. Launcher was a close second.

The 975J is much better...don't be fooled into the marketing hype of the Fe's and VS's... I own both and I should have just kept my 975J in the bag. I'm putting the Fe and VS on EBAY. Get the J, it's more consistent and hits the same amount of distance.

All around solid club. I am very happy that this is the driver in my bag. It looks good at setup. I really like that the club is set neutral and not closed like many drivers on the market. Like all Titleist clubs it is not made or marketed for the average golfer. Titleist J's are basically the shortest drivers on the market, so if your looking for distance this is not a good choice. If your looking for a deal the new Cobra super solid and long off the tee.

Customer Service

Titleist is very good to their customers. The problem is becoming one. I have a friend that wants this club but is left hande. Titleist has no idea when they will have some lefties available to the pu

Sweet Googlee Mooglee!!! I have found my new driver! I hit this club in the simulator today alongdie the other new offerings from Cleveland, Nike Callaway, Mizuno... I was much more pleased with this club than with the 975J. This thing is mega-long, the longest hit, with the Launcher a distant second. If you draw the ball, and swing hard, this baby is great. I ended up with huge, medium trajectory shots that ranged from a dubtle draw to a subtle fade...very hard to lose this club. The only times I had trouble were when I backed off a bit I tended to push...that's why i think this is well suited for those who attack the ball. Higher trajectory than my 975D, more forgiving, longer, but cetainly not as nice a feel. I was averaging about 288-299 in the machine (which may be slightly juiced in all honesty), but this baby is sick!!!! On the expensive side, but if that bugs you, by used from the internet.

Broke my onld 975d and Titlesist reshafted it for free. So, great service, though a bit slow.

I am a 1.6 handicap who is known for big drives. I demoed the club to see if it was more accurate than my PING ISI. Not only was it more accurate, but I could carry it over 300 yards and get at least 40 yards of role. If you want to hit the ball farther you need to get this club. I have hit the illegal ERC II and the Titleist is 10 yards farther. I have seen very short hitters hit this club over 300 yards!

Looks and feels like a 975! The head size does not look or feel too big. I was very dissapointed in the performance of this club most of all the distance on solid shots. The J-VS on similar swings went a good 25plus yards farther with the same shaft. In this day of hot faces and hi-tech materials this clubs provides terrible results when it comes to distance. Go with the J VS!

Model Reviewed: 8.5 L-FE with Titleist Speeder X

I overheard a salesman telling someone that the FE stands for fade enhancement, and that means if struck squarely it will produce a fade. Pretty funny. This like any other club, if hit squarely, will hit it straight. This is one of the few drivers sold now that is not designed to produce a draw. It has a square face and neutral weighting (most drivers are heel weighted today to help close the face). If you hit a fade/slice with your driver now, it will probably be worse with this club. My normal flight is straight, with this club it's still straight. The feel is very muted, I don't know if this is a result of the clubhead or the shaft. Like the previous J's the bore through hosel seems to add half a flex to shaft flex (it's like tipping the shaft an inch). The Titleist version Speeder in an X, is very stiff. The ball flight is pretty amazing. For me this set up produces a ballflight that is a little low, a 9.5 loft would be perfect. The ball takes off then flattens out and just hangs there forever. Granted this is with range balls, I'd imagine real balls would produce a little more lift, and perhaps a more ideal ball flight. It is very good at preventing a hook. The ad is a little misleading, if your miss is a pull, you can still have a big left side miss. It does a great job at preventing snaps though. I love this club. I can swing it as hard as I want and don't have to worry about it snapping left. It prodices a very straight flight. On shots that I feel myself leave the face open, I look up expecting a 15-20 yard fade and instead see 5-10. Compared to other drivers, Titleist continues to provide the most solid feeling in my opinion. Shaft selection makes a huge difference for every driver, but none more so than the bore through Titleists. If you're going to go for one of the J's (or the L) definately try out several shafts, and several flexes.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 975L-FE 9.5deg UL-60 stiff

I played a round with the 975L-FE in my bag after giving it a workout on the driving range. I'm normally a pretty big hitter. I hit my Warbird (11degree 6.0 rifle steel) 260 on a solid drive, and sometimes 300 when I go for it and get a good bounce. The L-FE club was outrageous. I was driving easily over 300 with TopFlite 2000's (didn't have any good balls). I hit a 300+ to cut the corner on a par 5 and hit the middle of the green with a soft 6 iron. Made me feel like Tiger. I drove into the bunkers in front of the green on two par 4's that were 330 and 350. On the one that was 350 my buddies and I calculated that the ball carried 285+ over a bunker and then hopped all the way into the middle of the trap. Nobody (myself included) had ever seen such a circus show. Obviously I'm going to buy one but I want to try the other shaft offerings before I drop $300+. The club was very solid and I liked the feel of contact. It wasn't a hard jolt like some of the new drivers I have tried but felt more like a bounce through the ball . The head was very stable at impact even on toe and heel hits. The sound was great, more of a crack than a tingg like my Warbird. I think one of the reasons the club was so comfortable to me is that I don't like offset in my irons (offset is when club is designed to have a closed clubface, toe forward, when the club is set up properly at address). The L-FE doesn't look like it has any offset built in to the design. Compare it to the J-VS, they are two completely different beasts.

Customer Service

I thought it was really cool how I could take the club out for the day and not pay a dime at my muni.
