Third season with this driver, and as I've progessively improved so has this club. I've hit the J on the course and it feels lighter and whippier, the D is solid, which I prefer. when it's time to go deep, I can take it out to 31-320 without hurting myself, and the ballflight is 'flat'. Lately I've been going back and forth to go to the newer Titleist, but this driver is very straight. Sounds like a rifle going off. If I was to upgrade, I'd go to Titanium before going to the J. I'll give it one more year at least.

Model Reviewed: 975D VS Pro Trajectory Titanium

I've played nothing but Callaway woods for years. I have a 9.5 degree Hawkeye Pro Series driver that I can even hit consistently off the fairway. My buddy recently purchased an ERC II (illegal) driver and now booms drives past mine. I sought to find a (legal) driver to put me back in the same league. This Titleist is IT! I bought a demo club for $140 at a pro shop. 9.5 degree, Stiff flex, 975D VS - Pro Trajectory Titanium. The Pro is supposed to produce a more penetrating ball flight than the others. I'm consistently 20 yards longer than my Hawkeye. I can even hit it off the fairway. My one complaint is the launch angle is sometimes way too high, but the ball still travels well. I had my best round driving the ball today. Consistently calling on a long, steady draw or a smooth power fade when needed. It's a beautiful club, with a classic looking head, deep face, that's not overbearing (can you say Taylor Made 580?) I recently bought the 16.5 degree (consistent 200 yd club) and will be adding the 13.5 degree shortly. These are cheap now too! New models are out, but who wants to pay $500 when you can snatch these up for less than a buck fifty?!

I bought a custom built 975d, after trying it out, I fell in love. THis is by far the best driver I have used. It is long and I can draw and fade as I like. Distance is fabulous, comes with a proforce 65 tipstiff.

Great driver. Hundreds available on Ebay for cheaper than I paid. Allows the player to reshaft and build custom driver for a steal. I reshafted with stiff proforce 75, from a regular ultralight, made big difference in consistency, lost a little distance. Very solid feel and workability (when my confidence is high). I do tend to hook when I swing too hard. Have been contemplating the 975L-FE 9.5 or 10.5 to find more fairways. I love the look at address of these drivers. Definitely classy, quality, and long!!! the current value rating on the 975D is amazing, you can't loose

This is the sweetest driver, I have owned it for 2 years and love it. I have tried everything from small vintage to the huge 460cc new drivers. The 975D just delivers great feel, distance and accuracy for the experienced golfer, while it is very forgiving on offcenter hits.

This is my second review regarding this club. I purchased one about 1 1/2 years ago and absolutely loved it for the 1st 6 months. Then my swing went to the pitts and we know what comes next...a change because it has to be the club! So I went to an Adams SC Tour Driver that was excellent...I still own it as a back up. I also tried a Taylor Made 360...WAYYY TOOO BIG. And I also tried a Mizuno Forged and it was quite pleasing. I started thinking about what "more forgiving" meant. That means that in case you do something that is going to cause your ball to stray...they club will help straighten it out! Well, guess what I found out? I was having such a hard time working the ball effectively because some of the drivers I was using were correcting it for me. No Good! So I decided to go back to the Titleist 975D and fell in love all over again! This club is different from most of it's contemporaries. Anyone who has hit it knpows there is a big different in sound and feel as say a Taylor Made or Big Bertha. The sound is much duller and the feeling is VERY different. However, having found the right shaft and loft...this club I would not trade for anything! I have hit the 975J and I still prefer this one. The head of the D is relatively small by todays standards but the face is very deep and large. Bottom line...this club is for those who prefer a more traditional feel and sound (I was not one of those poeple until I started reaping the benefits) and those who wish to work the ball...I hear so many times and read so many reviews about guys complaining about hitting a weak fade it a cut or just flat out slicing! It's your swing guys...the plane is what dictates the ball flight and type of spin you impart on it. Most people have no business playing a Stiff anything in this club as the hosel makes the club play as much as a flex STIFFER than what is labled on the shaft! I am lucky to live in an area that has many golf courses and quite a few clunmakers who really know what they are doing. I have asked their opinions without any discussions...and they all tell me..THIS CLUB MAKES THE SHAFT PLAY AT LEAST 1/2 FLEX IF NOT A WHOLE FLEX STROMGER BECAUSE THE LENGTH OF THE HOSEL! Case in point...I used to play a Great Big Bertha with a Tour-X EI-70 shaft...not I just play a STIFF Flex...and belileve you me...I have always generated quite a bit of clubhead speed and played at least an X STIFF in anything I hit....heck my 3 wood is a Titleist PT-15 with an X100 True Temper Sensicore. The message that I am trying to convey is this: This is an absolutely fabulous club (Amplified even more so by just how cheap you can get them)that nneds special attention to the type of shaft you put in it so it will best suit your name...which is simply the right correlation of Spin and Launch Angle...and don't forget...soften the flex a little and you will see just how great of a club this is! Don't forget...this is what Tiger, Daly, Love, Ducal, Michelson, Couples...and over half the players on tour used to hit! Enjoy!

I was always turned on by the look of this driver. I started hitting it and it was great, hoever i had one of the biggest slices around. This changed after I switched from the awful titleist ultralite shaft and moved to the Pro Force Gold 7f stiff/tip stiff shaft. It straightened out my shots considerably. I definetly recommend this driver. The 975 D was Tiger's winner, itr helped me as well.

Model Reviewed: 975D 7.5* original titleist shaft

Being a big titleist fan and reading great reviews on the D, I decided to pick up one. I was overly confident that it would be the winner. But after countless balls hit on the range, and out of bounds on the course, i realized that the driver was a big disappointment. I consistenly hit a low fade that didn't have any carry, Which didn't make sense to me because i usually hit a 10* or 9* driver too high, but with a small draw. When i got rid of the 975d, I resorted to my 3 wood and hit every single fairway, 240+ yards and shot my lowest round to date-80. I'm convinced that the driver was a conplete waste of time, it felt good when struck well but there wasn't any consistency. I'd snap hook it one swing and then slice it the next. It sucked. The only defense i have is that the driver had a 7.5* loft. Bought me a cleveland quadpro 8.5* and it's too sweet. It's a definite winner for golfers of any level.I can work the ball easily and the feel is better than the D. Any one looking for a driver without breaking the bank should go with the quadpro. Stay away from the 975D. (Titleist balls still rule, their drivers are questionable.)

Great Driver.I had mine shortend from 45" to 43" and got alot more accuracy and power into the ball.Works the ball really well too.I find it better than the new 975's because it has alot more feel, I think because it has a smaller head with a deep-face. I reccomend trying a smaller shaft than a 45" though. Overall brillaint club!

I was in the market for a new driver since my old GBB driver had something rattling in the head. I tried the D, Ping TiSI Tec and a Nike forged and the D was the best one. I liked the feel of the D, and have increased my distance off the tee from 280-295 with my old GBB to 310-320, I have also improved my accuracy and I can hit a draw or a fade whenever I want to.
