This driver in fantastic. I must say it is one of the most forgiving drivers i've tried. I am 15 and i usually hit 250 yards with a callaway hawkeye. Since i've switched to the 975d, i hit the ball 275 yards tops, and 230 when i hit a miss-hit. My swing is average-speed. My handicap is around 15-16. This driver is definately the best around. I decided to look into this driver after I saw it in Tiger's bag in his book, How I Play Golf. Hit it on the range at the Pro Shop, and I hit 9 out of 10 into the fence(260 yrds.). Feels very solid, workable, powerful trajectory, plays to loft. Nice hefty swingweight, feels good in the hands. It is a elegant but functional club. My swing speed is around 100 mph, and I have been playing for around 10 yrs., so I don't know how it will work for a higher handicap. |

I bought a 975D with a stiff Grafalloy prolite with 8.5* loft. The club delivered a low ballflight with plenty of distance. I am currently considoring getting a steel shaft in this club because ive heard its great with steel and i dont like the prolite. But it was a great club which was good all around. It is easily workable, feels great, and goes miles, as long as any of the clubs that cost a thousand dollars more. Solid club, both in terms of feel and performance. It rewards a good swing with good distance. In terms of accuracy and forgiveness, the club is as accurate as the person swinging the club. If anyone out there is hooking or slicing with this club it's all you...you don't need a better club, you should be spending your money on golf lessons. I'm glad that I selected a regular flex shaft because the Titleists seem to play a little stiffer than other drivers. The reg shaft seems to be a perfect match for my swing (relatively smooth tempo; 240~270yds). But, the thing I love most about this club is the amount of feedback you get from it. This club lets you know where on the clubface you've made contact. |

titleist 975D driver
This driver is awsome, im only 14 years old I've been playing my whole life and I can crush this baby. I average about a 230 drive and once in awhile ill get it about 250. Best feel of the many drivers I've tested and owned. Great sound to it, and it has a nice look to it. I dont swing very fast, but once you get the swing down you can hit this club very nice. I dont recomend a beginner to have this club, its hard to hit, you have to get used to it, I didnt hit it good till recently and i had it for 2 seasons. It has a low trajectory but the ball soars through the air. Best feel, look, and sound on the market. 975 D YS 9.1 XStiff shaft
This driver is long, With the xstiff ys 9.1 shaft you get great carry and a penetrating ball flight. I am only 16 years old but i have to say that i hit this driver high and long. It may be the shaft but the head of the titleist driver feels solid; I am thinking of upgrading to a 983 K though just because it also has a solid feel to it. The 975 D is a great driver to play with if you have a good swing, because if you don't the head will punish you with a duck hook, or a shank. Titliest 975 D
This is a great driver, great shaft, but you have to have a solid swing. I bought this from a playing friend who just could not hit it, and he said he was going to replace it. I asked if I could hit it and wow, I was impressed. He gave it to me for $30. It is a little scratched up on top where he hit his pop ups. I have the stiff 35 graffalloy pro lite shaft, with high flex point - very straight hitter, feels like persimmon when struck well. Very low, boring trajectory. I retired my old taylormade tibubble2 driver, which I liked very much, but hit more fades when I swung really hard. I normally swing about 110 head speed, but can get it up to 120, and the shaft flexes too much on the taylormade, but the 975d stays on line much better - due to the shaft. My 975D is 9.5 degrees and has the stock ultralight 60 regular shaft. This is simply the best driver I have ever hit. I grew up on persimmon, and so far, this is the only titanium driver that gives a satisying feel and sound to me. All the rest sound and feel hollow. I've been playing the driver since it first came out-- 1996 I believe. The 975 is fairly forgiving because it has a large (275 cc?) head, but looks pretty traditional at address and doesn't look clumsy at all. I think it's rather elegant. After 7 years, the head is dwarfed by all the 300 and 400 cc drivers, so it looks almost dainty. The trajectory on this driver is the best I've ever seen-- that classic pro trajectory where the ball starts off low and soars at the end of the flight. Great for cheating the wind. I typically hit a low ball, so I never have problems with balooning shots, but I believe the 975 tends to keep the ball lower than the Callaways and Taylor Mades. The distance is very solid, but lately I've been wondering if I'm losing some yards with all the trampoline faced drivers out there like the TM 300 series and the New Titleists. Suffice it to say, I'm not getting rid of this driver until I'm confident I like the new ones as much. These are a great bargain nowadays, and I really recommend getting one. I swing pretty fast (105-110) but have a smooth tempo so I can use a whippier regular shaft. I know everyone likes to reshaft these drivers with the EI-70 and lately, with the UST yellw proforce shafts, but I like my stock shaft just fine. The driver is very workable and does require a decent swing. You will get feedback from the club, although I think it corrects minor swing errors decently. I just love this driver-- one of the best purchases of anything I've ever made. Similar Products Used: 60s Spalding Persimmon Driver Top Flite Tour Driver (Steel) Mitshushiba Steel |

This driver is great. I had been playing the Taylor Made 360 Ti with the bubble shaft and it is no comparison. This club is longer, straighter, and has a better feel. I bought it new at Proline with only hitting it into a net and when I brought it out onto the course it was great. It is a great club. Highly recommended. 975D with stiff proforce 65 shaft
Great driver. I'm getting a low to medium trajectory that either goes straight or with a light draw (my natural ball flight). What impressed me was the air time...heaps of carry. I've always had pretty good distance and this driver is up there with the longest of others I've tried. Off centre hits can be felt through the shaft but don't appear to suffer much loss in distance or accuracy. In fact, I have more confidence with this club than taking my 3 or 5 wood off the tee. I would only recommend it to players who are already fairly proficient with drivers as it is not a miracle club that will stop slicing hooking etc. Any mis-hits I get, I can put down to my swing. It is also extremely good value for money at the moment with some good bargains due to the age of the club. Customer Service not used |
