This product does everything that you would expect from a drive of similar price but the quality is far surpassed. I now find that I am able to work the ball easer and hit a low penetrating ball fight. The driver has very solid sound at impact (I hate those hollow sounding clubs) the club also has a very classic head shape which gives confidence at address. The Titleist 975D driver may very well be the ultimate design for a driver. I have gone to the demo days at my local pro shop for the last 4-5 years, with the intention of possibly finding a driver as good or better than my 9.5 degree 975D driver (with a Grafalloy ProLite 35 Stiff shaft and Lamkin Crossline grip). Every year, I come home with the same answer: there is not such a driver! All of the hype about huge "grapefruits on sticks" drivers only allows for more of an area for you to put a bad swing on the ball. I don''t care- COR, 400 cc''s, multi-metal, whatever, the Titleist 975D is the classiest, best performing driver ever, including the new line of 975J, 975J-VS, and 975L-FE Titleist drivers. Please get your hands on one at the dirt cheap prices that they are available at right now before someone else does. You will not regret the years of happiness and confidence with the tee shot. Now- if someone could help me sink a few more putts... Similar Products Used: I have hit everything- and I mean it! |

975D with select shaft
I bought two of these drivers, one in 9.5 and one in 10.5 on ebay to determine which one I liked best. I had demo''''d it a number of times at the range and liked it a lot at the time compared to my old BigBertha Warbird. But times have changed, so I had to upgrade. What I have found over the last 9 months is that this club is just not as consistent unless you hit it in the sweet spot. I found myself hitting left sometimes, right sometimes, too high sometimes, thin other times. It was unnerving. Tee height seemed to be critical as well. I also felt like I had to toe the club in a little to keep it from pushing right with the regular flex shaft. The stiff flex on the 9.5 was less so. Inconsistency unfortunately, breeds a lack of confidence and I just found myself not feeling like I could trust this club. So when the pro''''s told me it was a club that was the least forgiving of what''''s on the market right now, I have come to agree. If you are below a 10 and hit the driver consistently on the sweet spot with confidence, this is a great driver. When I hit it well, I loved it. The clinical trial proved what the pro''''s said. I''''m off to the Taylor Made 360. |

I tried this driver at a demo-day and finally purchased one 2 yrs ago; 8.5 with the EI-70 stiff shaft. It was the best purchase I ever made besides my Ping Eye-2 irons. It performs as advertised-a boring flight with lots of roll. Another great feature is the sound at impact; it''s not an empty clink or clang but a solid, persimmon-sounding one. Titleist knows what they are doing. You won''t be disappointed. The right shaft is important. The EI-70 or Graffaloy, I believe, are the best. The Graffaloy has a little higher kick point so will produce lower ball flights. There are great buys on these drivers now. Customer Service Haven''t experienced them. The rep at the demo day was very knowledgable. |

Titleist 975D 9.5*
I would like to start this review by describing my game and giving a brief description of my golf history. I have been playing golf for 4 years. I was shooting around 135 strokes. Since then I have falling head over heels in love with the sport. I have had over 20 lessons with a pro and they are worth more than any equipment could ever do for your game. I have read over 32 books on golf. My golf game is some where around 87 to 94. All of the mistakes I make are mental! Now for the review.... I have tried many, many Drivers. I have tried to do like most of the people that look at these reviews and buy a majical Driver! There ain''t one! Buy lessons and learn how to swing right! I have been trying to work the ball lately with my Steel head plus. But just couldn''t do it. I snapped the head off 2 days before a golf outing with the guys so I took it to Edwin Watts to get it fixed. They couldn''t fix it in time so they let me borrow a demo of my choice. After swinging different clubs in the net I really liked the feel of the Heavy 975D. I could actually feel the club head. I, like most people in these reviews that inflate their EGO''s with lower scores than they actually shoot and swing speeds equilvilent to Jason Zubiak or Tiger Woods, decided to let my ego rest and take the wimpy regular Titleist Graphite shaft. It was the best decision I ever made. This is the most consistant Driver I have ever had in my hands! It is not the longest I''ve ever hit but it puts the ball exactly where my swing has directed it. I want to add that the distance is still long. I average around 265 yards with a smooth 87 to 94 mph swing speed. I also have a slow tempo. The trajectory is a perfect mid launch and boring. The nice thing about this club is that I can control the trajectory. I bought this in an 8.5 with the Titleist Stiff shaft. I loved the club, but hated the shaft due to the high trajectory it was producing me with. I recently reshafted it with a Graphite Design YS 9.1 tipped 1/4 inch and cut down to 44 1/2 inches. I have thought about switching but I really dont see a big difference with the newer drivers besides forgiveness. This club is the best driver on the market and the D will probably continue to be hit for years to come. Customer Service Never needed them. 975D 8.5* w/ UST Gold 65
Thank God for the "J" or I would have never bought this Driver, I was using a Taylor Made Ti Bubble 8.5* w/ UST Gold 65(Just put on) and was hitting close to 255-265 but it was like my pointer was broken, really had trouble with rough''s and tree''s , now i hit 265-275ish but the real improvement was that this driver has amazing feel and is soooo easy to control, a major bonus. Now i thought that it was all in the shaft but there must be some special sauce though''s boys at Titleist put on their driver heads to make them perform better. I wish i could put some on my putter. I''ve used the 975D for about 2 months now mostly on the range but have played a couple rounds with very good results. 975D 9.5 degree EI-70 Stiff
What a great driver this is. Truely the best feeling and sounding driver I have ever hit. The EI-70 seems to be a good shaft for my swing characteristics and coupled with the 975D head makes for a great combination. Now I know what people meant being "sneaky long", you don''''t realize how long you have hit until you pull out your lob wedge for your second shot on a 370 par 4. One thing I might add is that this driver requires a high swing speed to really appreciate it. I used it one time when my back pain was effecting my swing speed and got just average to below average results. Also a grooved swing is manditory for this driver or hooks or slices can be a constant battle in which I suffer from time to time. I have the 9.5 degree but recently purchased a 7.5 degree off Ebay for $115. I plan on using the 7.5 in windy conditions since I tend to have a high trajectory. Get em'''' while they are dirt cheap on Ebay....a steal at these prices. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Ping Tisi, Mizuno forged, Intimidator 400 and various component drivers |

after having one of these when they first came out and then dumping it for several others i am now back to this one. i feel this driver is one of the best! distance is great and this time around i have a dg-s300 shaft. cant say i lost any distance but my accuracy is tighter than before with graphite. club is going to be a little heavier but this helps conrolling your swing. the price that these are selling at its a steal. 10.5, UST 75 stiff
I''''ve just steped off the course after being constantly amazed by this driver''''s ease of use. I never thought of trying it out before, as all I''''d heard was ''''its for pro''''s.'''' But after borrowing my friend''''s I bought it off him straight away. If you give it a smooth swing, the ball shoots off at a nice trajectory, and gets an abundance of roll. The head is heavier than most, which gives the club a solid feel compared to the vagueness of the typical modern driver. Coupled with the Proforce shaft, the ''''D'''' is all the driver you''''ll ever need. Get the ''''J'''' if you need the extra forgiveness, but I believe most people will find the ''''D'''' forgiving enough, as it inspires confidence with its feel and weight. Snap one of these beasts up before they''''re gone. Similar Products Used: Ping Tisi, Mizuno, Taylor Made 320 |
