Titleist 907D2 Drivers

Titleist 907D2 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Titleist. The #1 460cc driver on the PGA Tour.

When it comes to 460cc drivers, even at the highest level of competitive golf, there are plenty of choices. And Titleist continues to be the brand trusted above all others. Now there's the next evolution of 460cc driver technology, the new Titleist 907 drivers.

The Titleist 907D2 is a multi-material 460cc driver with an enhanced moment of inertia (MOI) for increased DISTANCE WITH WORKABILITY and shot control.

MOI is the clubhead's resistance to twisting on off-center impact (i.e., heel, toe, high, or low). A higher MOI value means more resistance to twisting. The benefit of a higher MOI is longer distance (better energy transfer from club to ball) on off-center impacts.

A freind of mine had the Titleist 907 D2 in his rentals at a recent round. I tried it out and liked it so much I used it for the rest of the day. A typical drive with my old Nike 400cc is 270 - 285. I sometime have trouble with accuracy. With the titleist, I hit my drives incredibly straight and a bit longer than usual. This is a great club.

Hilarious! One guy decides to state his opinion and all hell breaks loose. Meantime, Lorenzo feels he needs to defend his brand.LOL
I'm not riding no companies jock. They have all made good products and bad products. Yes, even Titleist has had some duds. I think you all are a bunch of whiney mama's boys, grow up. The D2 is OK, but there are better drivers out there that are a whole hell of a lot cheaper. Why dump $500 when you can pay $300 and get the same or better performance? Unless, of course, your brand motivated only.

I can't give this a good value rating because it's very overpriced. I will give it a 3 star overall for the performance.

Mike L., quit your whining, candy ass! You said your peace, now let it be. Potential buyers that are researching this product don't want you posting three times just so you can get your point across. Your low rating is falsely bringing the average down on this fine product.

I'm going to make this short and sweet. This driver is excellent and and I highly recommend it. You can work the ball either way and it comes off the face very hot. Mine is fitted with the Proforce V2 shaft in a stiff flex. I'm very happy with this driver.

"I find it odd that Titleist's "dead irons" won more tournaments last year than any other brand...and that they currently produce the #1 wedge on the PGA tour...guess this poster's comments haven't reached the tour's ears."

You can't go by whats on tour. The guys are paid to play their clubs. If I was paid 3k a week to play a driver or a putter I would also why not. Titleist pays a lot of money for people to use their clubs. That is really why I like Mizuno as a company. Mizuno does not pay people to use their clubs, but with the money at stake most people go with Taylor Made or Titleist because they pay the most money. Callaway and cleveland would be next. And to address the comment by lorenzoinoc, I did not say Cleveland HiBore I said Hibore Tour (whose the idiot?) which is a very different club. The tour is 440cc and sits 3 degree open. The 3 degree open is true tour spec. I also did not care for the regular hibore. I do not hate titleist. Infact, I won several tournaments with the 975d and I mentioned it was a great driver. I just think if they want to market themselves as "the players club" then offer what true players want. Titleist has never offered the public a driver that sits three degree open. That is awesome and thats why I'm giving credit to cleveland. I am using Mizuno blades for irons which are the best there are bar none.

This has got to be the deadest feeling driver in existence. The 905 range was junk and now this, come on titleist. The best and only good driver they ever made was the 975d, great feed back and feeling. The 973K was a hooking machine with heel weighting from hell. The E was good though. If all you want is to close your eyes and point and shoot I guess this is your meal ticket, but if you enjoy the challenge of shaping shots based on feeling look elsewhere. Dead driver to now matche their dead irons.

I've had the last several Titleist drivers (R,T & K). I held off getting this one as I'd read and heard it was similar to and not much better than the R. But I heard such good things about the Aldila proto shaft that I justified getting the D2 as being shaft driven. I've now used it for approx. 10 rounds. My version has the proto in stiff and a loft of 9.5 degrees. My swing speed is 100-105.

I don't find this club similar to its predecessors. Feel is fairly different, good but different - maybe slightly more metallic. Forgiveness is significantly better. As with the prior Titleist drivers, you know exactly where on the clubface you hit the ball. Distance is about the same, perhaps another 5 yards, but I suspect that has alot to do with the shaft. I absolutley love this shaft. I can feel the shaft flexing in a way that I can control the timing, loading and snap of the club better than any other shaft I've swung. For that reason I am more consistently hitting drives at the farther end of my personal distance range. At the same time I'm hitting more fairways. I also find this easier to exagerate a draw without snapping it better than the R & T although the K also excelled in this area. Is it just a honeymoon? Time will tell. Thus far this shaft/head combo is a quantum leap for me.

I have always had issue with driving, never distance but accuracy. My swing speed is about 108, with a slight fader swing path. I had been playing a TM r7 460, set up in the draw configuration. I was putting the drives out there around 280 consistantly, but was happy for the weights as I still hit what my friends called a power fade. Took a trip with the clubs and damaged my r7, and had no driver for my golf vacation. The club I played at offered a demo D2. Any concerns about the square face and lack of correction control were quickly alleviated after several drives of over 300, with the same fade I had become accustomed to. The V2 shaft felt great, and loaded nicely, helping me to gain about 15-20 yards. Not the miracle some claim. but I was happy for it. The V2 shaft and the higher MOI head seem to be the perfect combination.

This is my third Titleist driver. I was happy with my 983k and could normally get 270 to 280 yards out of my drives. I got lucky and won a $400.00 gift card at a tournament so I decided to treat myself to one of the new 460cc drivers and started shopping around. I was leaning towards the Callaway FT1, but after a few swings, it felt like the shaft would twist at impact with off center hits. Also I was not comfortable with the set up of the large square head. The $500.00 price tag didn’t help either. After a few hits with the 907, I got fitted with a 10.5 and ys-2 stiff shaft. All I can say is wow! The ball snaps off the face and has a great sound. Some of the new clubs are a cross between an aluminum baseball bat and two pipes being banged together. I did note that teeing the ball up, about half way above the face, ball flight is a bit steep. Teeing it down a bit and look out! Great trajectory and roll. A bit of experimenting with the new club found that hitting a draw or fade was not a problem. What I also like is that the club head weight seems lighter than my 983k. Great club, I’m glad I stayed with a Titleist.

I have played the 905T for the last 3 seasons and loved it. last year I tried the 905R but it did not feel very good at all. I Just picked up the D2 with the Aldila Proto Shaft (stiff). At first glance I new it was special and after a few swings all I can say is it sounds amazing at impact and it is very long.
Hands down the best driver I have ever hit.

About a 14 handi... have always had a thing for Titleist drivers... 983E was by far the favorite for a few years... low, high, right, left... then came the big heads... the appeal was hard to pass on... but, the 905R never quite cut it... par 5 into the wind killed me every time... had to dope the head with lead tap to move the ball left and right... trajectory always too much of a high arc. ... and now, the 907... I hit the D1... could not get it with that driver at all... bad feel, bad shape, no left, no right, no fun at all... but, the D2 was a surprise... 9.5 UST V2 Stiff 76g... this club is an excellent mix of materials, power, control, and workability... it feels like the club punches through the ball... trajectory is very nice... can be up high to ride a wind or stay a bit lower to cheat it... a high graceful cut is so easy to repeat and by using the fundamentals, the left side is still reachable(in more degrees than too little or too much)even with the big head... and it does seem to be forgiving of alot but the worst swings... I think any mid to low handicap could do far worse than to give this club a swing...
