Model Reviewed: Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax Driver

Every bit as good a driver as any of the new breed of high MOI clubs to hit the market at half the price. The Geomax I bought is 10.5 degree loft with the standard OEM Graffaloy shaft in regular stiffness (I had it tip trimmed 1/2 inch to firm it up a bit for my swing 98 mph.) The gain and why I am writing this review is that my drives, in the the 240-260 range are now dead straight! Misses, high on the club face and low are dead straight! Just about everything hit, including worm rapers go dead straight. This driver is as long as the others I've tested and comes in at a meager $200 or about half the price of the others. The only exception is the Cobra which had a Fujikura Speeder shaft that I tested that was well over 20-30 yards longer, but not worth the additional $400!!! For 30 yards it just isn't worth it.
I read this page regularly and I appreciate the contributors who share their thoughts and feelings about the clubs they invest in and use. Of all the reviews, some of my own included, the driver and putter reviews are the hardest to swallow. I buy a new driver about every two years to take advantage of new technology. The best in recent years has been the weight distribution technology of the R7 variety and the high MOI clubs now being offered. Of the high MOI variety now being offered, this is the best bang for the buck! I also tried the Tour Edge Exotic, but I could not predict the kind of bend my swing would put on it. I liked the Bazooka even though it was not as long as the Exotic. I liked the straight of the Geomax. The staighter I go the longer I feel. Maybe they should combine the technology of the Geomax with the Exotic, Now that would be a hot club!

Customer Service

Hands down the best in the industry. If you register the club and break it, any part of it, Tour Edge simply replaces the club. End of story. That is the best customer service there is--Period.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 907 D2

I was using a Titleist 905R with a Proforce V2 65S shaft for the past several months and was pretty happy with it...very long and fairly easy to hit. However, being a true equipment ho, I just had to have the latest thing and traded in some of my old clubs for a new 907 D2 with the VS Proto S shaft. I was amazed to find this club significantly longer (10-20 yards) than the 905R and more importantly, MUCH easier to keep in the fairway. This shaft and head are the best driver combo that I have ever found....and I have owned six different drivers and tested several others over the past year in my quest for the best. Hands down, the 907 D2 is it! I loved the Proforce V2 shaft; thought it was perfect for my swing, but the VS Proto is even better! Granted, this club is expensive, but it's the best out there right now and well worth the money if you want to maximize your driving game.

In one sentence, the straightest driver I've ever hit.

I am not a long hitter (250-260 at best)and am not too straight either (got both hooks and slices). Tee shots usually get me in trouble which cost lots of strokes.

I embraced the R7 quad when it first came out but it didn't help straighten my drives that much. I was quick to try the new square shape and the triangular shape. With the square drivers, I couldn't tell the difference from my old driver.

With the D1, though, I actually saw a marked improvement. I don't hit it that much longer. But every shot is pretty straight and does not go way off the fairway, even if I don't catch it really square.

It's a keeper.

I LOVE TITLEIST!!!
I was playing the 905R with a harrison shaft, which worked pretty well for me, but I wanted to hit more fairways. I was a traditionalist, but the D1 changed my mind. I actually had never hit this driver, but found somone selling just the head on ebay, and bought it for 200$ so I decided to give it a try. I hate stock shafts, so I put in a Penley ETA XX shaft to give me control when I want to chase after a drive. The combo just kicks total ass. The ball flight is just perfect, and the clubhead stability is great. The sound is a bit different from other Titleist models, but it is still a typical strong titleist sound. The ball just jumps off the face, and takes a huge bounce/roll when it lands. Don't get me wrong, you can still hit a crappy drive if you swing like crap, but the technology really helps you. This model definately goes further than the 905R when comparing sweet spot hits. It took Titleist a while to release something with "new technology", but they have done a great job with this. Make sure you get matched up with the correct shaft and loft combo--it will make all the difference in the world.

I was playing a 905R for a year, loved it when I hit it pure, just did not hit it pure "enough."

Needed a little more forgiveness off the tee. Picked up the D1 last week and absolutely love it. Takes a few swings to get used to the look (gianormous triangle) and the sound when struck, but it is straight and forgiving. Playing a slight draw versus fighting a snapper. The first round I played with it I was splitting fairways!

I had a chance to play Anderson's Creek in Price Edward Island, Canada. To my suprise they offered the 907 D1 as there club rental. After hearing a friend bragg about this driver I decided to rent the club for a round. I was admazed immediatly on the 1st hole after bombing a 290 yard + drive down the right center of this difficult driving hole. I thought it must of been a lucky shot, but on hole 2 a 330 yard par 4 I struck a shot that was off the toe, the ball almost worked itself back into the fairway, when i got up to the ball it was 20 yards to the hole. After finishing the best driving round of my lift hitting probably 75% of the fairways, I told myself I would have one of these drivers and that the cost would be well worth the results.

Model Reviewed: titleist 907d1 9.5 aldila vs stiff

I have owned far to many drivers to mention , but I have been using a callaway ft-3 tour for a year now and still very pleased with its performance. I was watching e-bay one night and one of the new drivers from titleist came up at a ridiculously low price , I have had all the titleist drivers that have been made in the last 12 years , but was very disappointed in the 905 range ( found I got a ballooning flight with them all ). So I thought I'd buy this driver to move it on for a tidy little profit , so I bidded on it and won it. I put tape on it and thought I'd give it a demo , it shocked me to how good it was , it flew as long and straight as anything I've ever tried so after two rounds with it the tape came off and its been in my bag since. The shape and size take a bit of getting used to but after that this driver is fantastic , gives me a medium height with little spin and good roll. This driver has amazed me even when I've thought " I didn't quite catch that one " I am amazed how far it goes , this is the most forgiving driver I've ever hit. I got it with 9.5 loft and a stiff aldila by you vs 65 gram shaft. This will be in my bag for a very long time. I demo'd the D2 a week ago , even though I hit it well I couldn't change the one I've got , I would think if I didn't have this one I'd have a D2.

Great club...replaced cracked Cleveland Comp 460...definately smack and chase...difficult to work but very forgiving and length is as good as any. Face is still .830 COR so I am not sure why others can't hit it as far...hit it on the screws and it is very penatrating and long. Miss it and it is very forgiving! Just takes a bit to get use to the shape and sound. Not as loud as the Sumo. Highly recommended; you should at least try it.

Custom ordered unseen.
Hated it from the first ball struck.
Ugly at address, horrid sound, disappointing performance.
Returned it immediately.
Now I know why you don't see them in tour bags.
