TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

TaylorMade Supersteel Drivers

DESCRIPTION

SuperSteel is stronger than the steel traditionally used in metalwoods, enabling both the club head and sweetspot to be larger. this allows for thinner face walls that transfer more power to the ball. The result is increased velocity and a more explosive hitting area for more distance.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made SuperSteel 250 Driver with S-90 Rifle Shaft

I have tried many other, more expensive drivers and have settled on this one at half the price. I love the look at address and the feel at impact. I can''t argue with the accuracy that I have with it either. It isn''t as long as a Great Big Bertha or a Mizuno T-Zoid Forged, about 10 yrds shorter, but it is more forgiving and with a Steel S-90 Rifle shaft in it, it is much more accurate than any graphite shafted club I have used. I have a fast swing (95 mph) and the S-90 Rifle shaft is just stiff enough for me, any faster and you would want the Tour Stiff shaft. For the price, this is the best driver on the market, although Taylor Made has just come out with their 200 Series replacement to this, so maybe it is as good, but I''m not trading in my SuperSteel anytime soon.

Model Reviewed: 10.5* Taylor Made SuperSteel 250 Driver

This is an awesome driver at a reasonable price. Why pay over $400. Unlike most clubheads in today''s market, this is not a monsterous size driver. At 250cc, it sets up real well and instills alot of confidence at address. A 10.5* loft combined with an S-90 graphite bubble shaft works well together. The feel of the club suits me just fine. My ball flight and trajectory bores through the air beautifully. My average driving distance is about 265 yards with a softer control type ball. However, if I were to play with a harder distance ball, I could probably take it out 10 to 15 yards further.

Customer Service

Great service. Dented the crown of the clubhead and sent me another club.

best driver i''ve ever owned. maybe shorter than my GB Bertha on dead center hits, but with GBB it''s hard to tell when you hit one off center since there is no feedback from it. overall the 250 is longer and finds the fairway more often, plus the trajectory is much better great club for $150

I agree with Steve a few reviews below me. Unfortunately, the more I tried to hit with this driver, the worse it got. The shaft is not that great and the clubface feels as though you are slamming into a brick each time. I bought this driver on e-bay which may render some explanation for its behavior since there wasn''t any fitting for it. For me, the club just didn''t do anything. It was extremely difficult to hit and unfortunately, going right back on e-bay where it came from.

I Love this driver. I''ve had the 3 wood about 6 months. I bought the driver on Ebay and kept it in my garage. I had a 975J I bought and I had it reshafted. I hit the supersteel while the other one is in the shop and the 975J is gone. This driver by far is the staightest I''ve ever hit. I can work it very easy and the distance is good too.

Bought the 3 & 5 wood last year. Hit them so well decided to buy the Supersteel driver. Great club, ball goes straight and far. Club sets up well and feels "Super". Steel shaft is shorter length than most graphite shafts which helps with control. Would rather give up extra yards for accuracy. Can work the ball both ways. Highly reccommend any of the Supersteel woods. Great bargains can found for all these clubs.

I ALMOST GAVE UP TRYING TO HIT A DRIVER BECAUSE OF MY SLICE. THEN I WAS TOLD A STEEL SHAFT WOULD HELP. THIS CLUB HITS SWEET AND STRAIGHT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CONSISTENT WITH A WOOD BEFORE. A COMBINATION OF THE STEEL SHAFT AND A SWING TRAINER I NOW USE HAS MADE GOLF FUN AGAIN. A GRAT CLUB FOR THE PRICE. FORGET KNOCKOFFS.

Great driver, I was able to hit it over 275 on my first couple swings. nice feel. i even got one off about 320 with a little downhill and a couple bounces. The 10.5 degree is great and allows for some trajectory.

exellent club. works well. looks well. sounds well. performs well. what else can I say? I am 13 years old (just recieved it for my birthday) and i can't say enough good things about it. the only downfall is that is doesn't give you the distance of a bertha, but it is much more accurate. just the sound of the supersteel makes this club unique. it has this special ping to it that is unlike any other. i think that the sound is very confident. just hearing it makes you think it went 250 yards.
