TM R7 425
I have one word to describe this club...WOW! This club is the best thing that has happened to my game. I'm a weekend hacker! I only get out once a week at the most. Let me tell you. I purchased this club Friday and the following day I went to the same golf course I play at week after week, and the best score before my last outing was 95 on a par 72 course. After pulling out my TM 425 R7 my drives were straighter and longer (keep in mind I'm not trying to sound like a salesman here) I hit a solid round of 86! Don't take my word for it, go out and get one of these bad boys and find out for yourself! Your game and drive distance will improve! I never thought my game would improve by 9 strokes from one week to the next... but it did! Goodbye Nike SQ... Thank you TM R7 425! |

First let me say this about the 425 stick- if you're looking for max. distance, look elsewhere. But if you're looking to shape shots or find fairways more consistently, this big Dog is for you. I can draw or fade the 425 consistently and accurately, which made me fall in love with the club. Good penetrating ball flight- not too much spin like with the monster caveman BillyClubs you see on the market. I lost about 10-15 yards, though, after giving up the PING g5 and a few other 460's, but it's totally worth it IMHO. I'd rather be 140 out from the center than 120 in the cabbage. It's also easy as heck to hit straight (shorter shaft), when the hole layout calls for it. I play in the mountains, so I have a lot of downhill tee shots. These tee shots make me want to get extra aggressive, and when I do, I'll give the 425 a mean snapper hook that I never had with another big dog (again, shorter shaft, real easy to get turned over), but that's easily avoided with tempo and fluidity. I haven't really messed with moving weights around, it came neutrally bias and I fell in love with what I could do with it, so why bother screwing with it? I just acquired one of those new TM Burners, just for giggles, off ebay for pretty cheap, just for the few courses around here that are wide and long enough to warrant playin' a BillyClub. It'll probably be back on ebay soon tho, nothing anytime soon is gonna make me pull the 425 out. Customer Service Custom cut & delivered in a week.

This is the most amazing driver I've ever hit. I live on a golf course, hole #9 320 par 4. You can reach the green from the tees. I've been close, but never on the green in one. I normally drive 280-290 with 110-115mph club speeds. I took this club out back for the first time today and swung as hard as I could. My first shot landed short and rolled up to the middle of the green, dead straight. The second landed on the green and went over the back, but it was still exactly where I aimed it. The ball jumps off the club and is deadly accurate even at high club speeds. I was playing the Taylormade 540XD until I broke it last week. I didn't believe all the movable weight hype, but now I'm convinced everyone should play this club. I got it off Ebay used for just under $200 no extra weights. If you’re the guy who has to have everything new it's still worth the $700+. Last week I took a SasQuatch demo out and for twelve holes felt like I never hit a solid drive. Not the case with Taylormade. The contact is pure. If Tiger had any real sense he’d drop Nike and let Taylormade straighten his drive out over a weekend. Taylormade makes the best drivers in the world. Only one word to describe this club; Ludicracious (definition- more ludicrous then ludicrous itself). Customer Service N/A. Haven't used. Hellllllooooo, this is by far the longest and straightest driver on the market. I thought the weights woud be a gimmick, but they really do work. One word of caution if you dont produce a good solid swing "solid ball striker" than this might not be the club for you? On the other hand if the shaft is right, "I have the Rombax 75" Than let er rip my friends!

A fogiving driver to be sure, but not very long. Struggled to hit past 250 yards. A very easy driver to get up in the air, though.

This driver should be named as Anti-slice driver. The more speed you swing this stick, the straighter you will get! It does not increase my yardage but I hit 8 of 10 fairways. If you want control, here is your driver. If you want to increase distance, you may look at 460 or Ping G5 but does another 15 yards in the water or rough is really worth? Taylormade R7 425 9.5
After a half of a year of playing a Mizuno MX 500 8.5 with a Proforce V2 shaft, I received a Taylormade R7 425 9.5 degree driver with the stock Fujikura shaft (stiff) as a gift. I was getting allot of side spin from the Mizuno that took my drives to the rough. The TaylorMade R7 425 with the 12 gram weights moved forward has about the same ball flight as the Mizuno 8.5 but with better control and less side spin. With the weights moved forward, the overall weight of the driver is moved further apart which increases the Moment of Interia (the head of the club does not twist as much on off-center hits) . Since playing the driver, I have hit nearly twice as many fairways with no loss of distance. I even went to a launch monitor with both clubs and found that my side spin (draw) reduced to dramatically. Moreover, the shaft has a very nice feel and I can feel the club throughout the swing.

While I have often read the reviews here I have never written one until now. I recently picked up a new TM R7 425 in 9.5 with regular flex Reax shaft. Since I usually hit a fade I decided the best weight setting was the high draw position. Incredible! I can feel where the head is throughout the swing and when it makes contact it feels smooth and powerful. I am not a long ball hitter usually in the 220 to 230 yd range, but this club has added an additional 10 yards to my drives. More importantly, I do not miss fairways with this driver. I just completed my fifth round and I have missed just 6 out of 70 fairways where I used this club (not counting par 3's. I love the size which is large enough to look forgiving, but not so big to be distracting. If you are in the market for a new driver this is one you should add to your list. In my humble opinion with the right shaft and weight configuration this is the best driver available today. Customer Service I have not had to use, but I have a friend who did, and was very pleased. This driver should be illegal. I always tell people theres steroids in this thing. I used to hit about 260 yards with my R5 Quad, when I upgraded to this thing, with the same exact swing I get about 290-300 yards. I know i haven't improved but it has to be the driver. Sometimes you lose control over where the ball goes, it hooks a little too much sometimes. When you have a clean hit expect everyone around you to say WOOOOWWWW. |
