As I am quite a gig hitter this club favours me, the moveable weights make it nice to play around with, and with a bit of practice you can control your drives pretty well. As for the distance I can now hit it in excess of 300 yards on line, which is at least 40 yards more than my other driver. Another great thing is the DEFENING sound as you strike it off the large sweet spot. I would recommend this club to everyone. Customer Service N/A |

All I can say is what took me so long to find this driver?!?! I've been through dozens of drivers over the past 4-5 years, many of which I've built myself in the hopes of saving a little money, and being able to experiment with different shafts, etc. Well, none of that got me anywhere. It got so bad that I put my driver in the corner for almost a year and played only with my 3-wood off the tee. I hit the ball a long way, so even my 3 wood (Taylor Made V-steel) would usually give me 250-260 yards, but I was only carrying 13 clubs. I wanted to find a driver I could hit reasonably straight, even if it wasn't the longest one out there. I was plain tired of not being able to depend on my driver at all. So the other day I see a R7 460 with the stiff Re-ax 60 gram shaft in the demo bin at the course, and ask to try it out. WOW!!!! I hit that thing so straight it was hard to believe. But after 5 or 6 holes, it was obvious that this was a superior piece of golf technology beyond anything I'd ever tried before. I played the rest of the round with it, only missed one fairway, and shot 76 with a double on the last hole (short game, not the driver's fault). The demo was a 10.5, and it hit the ball slightly high for me (I have a 115 mph swing speed). So today I bought a 9.5 in the exact same spec's, and played 9 holes with it. Afterward, I went to the range and hit about 30 good balls with it. This is without a doubt the best driver/shaft combination I've ever used. Super straight, and pretty darn long.

I love this driver. Its very straight in its neutral-weight position, and is extremely forgiving on off-shots. I have the stiff shaft with a 10.5 degree loft. the ball does tend to go high, but i do not think I have lost any distance. I might have actually gained a few yards actually. I used to hit a 9.5 driver before this. the driver feels really good in the hand, the shape of the head is wonderful, and very aerodynamic, and not cluncky looking like some of the other large driver heads. I am actually surprised at how easy it is to hit this driver. I can get between 230-250 carry on my drives consistently. Customer Service I'm sure its great, I just haven't had a need to use it. After demoing the PING G5 Driver at the range, I decided to pick one up on ebay. I am a huge fan of ping irons, but have never had success with the drivers. But, I had a decent day at the range, so I thought Ping did it right with the G5. After 2 miserable weeks of not being able to find the fairway, I had to trade it in. I mean, I am not a scratch golfer, but I do hit in the 80's. I think I hit perhaps 10 to 15% of the fairways in a 2-3 week stint. VERY frustrating. I could not reign in this club for the life of me. I am sure some people love it, but it just goes to show you that WHAT IS RIGHT FOR ONE PERSON, IS DEFINITELY NOT RIGHT FOR THE NEXT PERSON. THIS CLUB WAS BY FAR THE WORST DRIVER I HAVE EVER ATTEMPTED TO USE. I COULD NOT GET CONTROL OF IT.

I am quite disappointed with most of the recent reviews of this club. Judging by the comments, I wouldn't have bought this club. Fortunately, I bought it and tried it and COMPLETELY feel that it is the most FORGIVING driver on earth. I have a fade/slice. I have had lessons. I have spent hundreds of dollars on driving range tokens. I have a practice mat in my garage. I have video taped my swing approx. 30 times. Nothing, and I mean nothing has made my swing repeatable or consistent. I have had great driving days (which I can count on 1 hand), but for the most part, it has been an incredibly frustrating part of my golf game. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself through it. Not to brag, but my irons are hot, and my short game is above average. That is why I have stuck with this game. I am 31 years old and have a 16 hdcp. It cannot go down because of one thing............the tee off box. To make a long story short, I have tried the Titleist, Cobra speed LD, Sasquatch, Ping G5, Taylormade R580xd, R5 dual N, Cleveland hi bore, and the hi bore xl, Titleist 905T and the 905R. Then I got a brain wave.........I am not a pro golfer............I need help via technology. I was considering the G5 offset, but the Golf Town pro said no way, go with the adjustable weights. I asked him if it was bunch of crap and hokey pokey. He guarenteed me that they work. Fortunately for me, I was granted the sale of a Demo R7 460 10.5 in a stiff flex, and after my trade in of my Ping G5, I only paid 50 bucks CDN difference! How could I go wrong? I have spent that much at the driving range trying to cure my slice last month alone! So, off to the range I go with "ANOTHER" taylormade (the last one I owned was the R5 dual wich I detested). I am a lefty and out of 46 balls, I put 2 out to the left (push slice) That's right..........2, not 32 like I normally would.

The best driver i ever hit period!! Let me tell you, if you are a fader or a slicer and you want help square the club face this is your answer. I bought the 10.5 loft with stiff shaft and played my first round with it yesterday and i never sliced the ball once. my playing partner who i have played golf with for over 18yrs said that was the best i have driven the ball ever and i shot and 81 with a 131 slope. Simply the best!!! Similar Products Used: king cobra |

R7...I have them all, wouldnt buy one now. There are better drivers which have technology that is longer and more forgiving. The shaft is subpar and the Movable Weight Tech. doesnt change the ball flight very much. If you are looking for more diatnce...I would look at the Burner or the Callaway FT-5. My CObra F-Speed LD is about 30 yds longer than the R7 460. IMO, the R7 460 is outdated. |

Absolute cannon. The club looks fantastic at address. Very solid, powerful feel and sound. I bought this club after contemplating the new Superquad. The Superquad is more adjustable, but I figured I'd always set up for a draw anyways, so why pay the extra for the ability to adjust for neutral and fade. Also, the UST V2 shaft is awesome. Great feel and power with an attractive matte finish. Best shaft I've hit. All in all this is the best driver I've owned and some of the smartest golf money I've spent. Can be had cheap on E-bay with the pro shops clearing space for the new Superquad. Customer Service Not needed. I purchased this club,(stiff, 10.5 loft)because I was not getting the distance from my driver. The first day I played with it i had drive4 drives over 275 yd., one of these was about 320 yd.
Similar Products Used: I had tried the Cleveland Hy-Bore with unsatisfactory results. (I like Cleveland clubs (wedges and hybrids)and my previous driver was a Launcher 400. The HyBore did not deliver the distance I am accustomed to. |
