This driver is as good as everyone states. I have always had a pretty horrible slice and pushed the ball to the right of every fairway. Today, I played my first 18 holes with my new r7 460 and I am impressed with the club. I hit 12 out of 18 fairways and that is a huge improvement for me. It felt great to play my second shots from the fairway most of the day. Great driver, great balance, good feel and big sound on contact. You can definatley add distance to your drives and feel great walking up to your second shot in the fairway. Even the 6 fairways I did not hit were not horrible. I was only about 10-15 feet right of the fairway in these instances. If you looking for improvement in your drives, look at this driver!

8.5 degree with 67gm Mitsubishi REAX shaft. Hated it (too high, too much spin) till I figured out that it needed more total weight in the front plugs to offset the heavy backweight. Then it balanced out very nicely and got much more solid. I used a 10gm and 8 gm. which brought the swingweight up to about D7. Heavy yes, but it works and I don't get too fast with the hands given the light shaft. Also, I was teeing too high. Needed to be 1/2 ball above crown, no more. Now what was about to be another dust collector, kills it solid, straight and penetrating. At least as good or maybe better than my SuperQuad TP.

I recently purchased this driver from direct golf for £150 (brand new), i am using the stiff flex fujikura reax with 9 degrees of loft. Since buying it my game has improved significantly. I recently finished second in my club championship shooting a nett 62. The highlight of the day was being on the 18th green in one, this hole is 321 yards long.(i am only 13)!!!!!

Thankfully for the movable weights, I can switch the default draw setting to neutral as I was hooking big time in the range. There after, it was bombs away! On course, it did not let me down and my confidence in driving grew. The specs comes with REAX shaft made by Mitshubishi Rayon instead of Fujikura. A shaft at less than 60grams, I found myself able to swing this gem from the start to end of the round. I felt the stock shaft is good enough for me. Trajectory is mid-high, and there is a nice impact sound and feeling. I wouldn't really say this driver is anymore longer, but it is much more consistent and I feel more balanced. This one is gonna stay in the bag for while. Good job TM!

i am a mid handicapper and bought the taylormade r7 460cc driver in the internet. at adress the club look excellent and fills you with confidence. i set the club up for a draw and it really works. i hit the ball between 20-30 yards further than my old driver which was a taylormade xr-03. te ball goes high straight and far. i have played about 10 rounds with this club and have only missed the fairway a handful of times, and that was only because i tried to hit the ball really hard and lost my technique!!!!

i would highly reccommend this club for any golfer!!

happy buying!

First of all I'm 6'4" tall and have always had trouble hitting a driver. My irons are 1" long and it made sense to try a longer shaft in a driver. I found a 983K in a used rack with a 2" extension for 60.00 and gave it a try and finally I could hit a driver! Bad news, after two months the shaft broke in the hosel. I went to Golf Galaxy for a fitting and they had the R7 460's on sale. I hit at least 11 different drivers and for me this was the one. Took it to the course and same old problem, topping etc, driving me crazy so I took it back and had a 2" extension put in it and wow what a difference. I am bombing this thing. With the 983 +2" I would sometimes slice it and I found the same with the R7 460 set up neutral with being able to adjust the weights however I bought a couple extra weights and have a 12 gram in the toe and a 14 in the heel and that solved everything. I hit every fairway 2 nights in a row this past week and bombed one 310 dead straight. So get fitted and don't think that the standard 45" driver is for everyone, it is not!

After a dozen rounds, this club doesn't work for me. Maybe it's the big, unwieldy head and almost total lack of workability (for me anyway). I lose 20 yards over my old Big Bertha and even my Taylor Made bubble shaft. And I like working the ball. For me, forgiveness = boring.
But I want to say is ... today I hit a perfectly normal drive, and the sweet spot split! A one-inch crack! I've never seen that on a regular-sized club.

What a tremendous confidence inspiring driver! I've only played a few rounds with it and have hit it a few times at the driving range but this is by far the best driver I've ever owned. Set up with a draw bias it has completely eliminated my slice. I had a Callaway X-460 and I just couldn't stop slicing with it whatever I did (down to me not the club). This club just straightens out curves and is the answer to my prayers. Few things in life do what they say on the tin but this driver is one of the most marvellous exceptions.

Three words to describe this driver; "The Real Deal!".

I'm just picking up the game again and taking it seriously after being away from it for more than 5yrs. After a few rounds, I finally got my iron play to a decent level, but was always scared to hit my driver b/c it was all over the place. I just couldn't consistently hit my driver well.

So after considering the Cleveland Hibore XL, at my local golf store I found that the shape & size of this thing was huge! It looked like I had a discus at the end of my shaft. Then I came across the R7's. This thing was a beauty. Although one model year old I thought this thing was great. I heard lots of great stuff about the clubs. I was originally going for the 425, but opted for maximum forgiveness with the 460.

Well I unwrapped it today and let's just say that this club just wants to straighten out the ball. I'd say 5/8 shots I first hit the club (with no warm up) was straight and would be playable in the fairway. Not only that, my hits were going further, landing at about 220ish and rolling to about 250 or more. (I'm a small guy so 250 is plenty for me right now) Even on off-center hits it would go straight!

This is the best money I've spent. Thanks TaylorMade! :)

I tested the G5 and the r7 460. I couldnt hit the G5 at all. Bought the 9.5 stiff reax Fujikura. This club looks good at address and has a slightly shorter shaft than most and is reasonbly easy to use. I was able to hit alot of fairways with this club but definately lost some carry from other clubs like the r580 XR05. When demoing the club on simulator I was getting about 240 carry with my swing speed 105 and launch angle 12.5 but on the course my best shot carried about 225 at best. If you are a big hitter looking for more accuracy then this could be your club but if like me you want more distance then you might want to try something else. I have just the burner and will see how that goes over the next few weeks and will post a review soon.
