Taylor Made R580
Reviews such as the one below me should not even be allowed to be posted on the board. If he can't hit a driver, any driver, at least 200 yards, then he has no business reviewing it! Now on with the review. The R580 (conforming version) is absolutely phenomenal. It is by far the most accurate driver I have ever hit and I have gone through a Taylor Made 320 & 360, Cleveland Launcher, and a Cobra SS 427 this year and the R580 beats them all hands down. Both the Cobra and the r580 are extremely forgiving, but I am averaging 25 yards more per drive with the R580 simply because of a much more manageable trajectory. I can put the ball wherever I want to which allows me to be aggressive on doglegs and take bunkers out of play. I honestly can't begin to tell you how fantastic this club is! As always, you need to demo to find the loft and shaft flex that suits you best. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 320, Taylor Made 360, Cleveland Launcher, Cobra SS 427 |

I have hit everything out there this driver I can shape any shot with it also, Dog leg right tee upd high open face- bamb on the green on a par 4 322 at our course. So much confidence now I cant miss. This driver is the best out there, thanks TM Customer Service none Similar Products Used: TM 360,ERC, Launcher, Precept 310, Liquidmetal, Hog, Deep Red 365 |

Very good looking club at address. It breaths confidence over the ball. I can really feel the ball on the club face too. It almost feels like the ball sucks into the face at impact and trampolines out. This driver is a real boomer... Even though it's a 400cc size head it does not feel overbearing at address in my opinion. Tom |

Wow. Got the 580 (conforming) 9.5 Stiff shaft today and immediately hit the range. This thing is long and extremely forgiving. I have demoed a ton of drivers at this point and can finally say that I am done. With a nice easy swing, it explodes off the face. Additionally, on off center hits, the distance lost is not significant. I am extremely pleased. Customer Service Always solid Similar Products Used: TM 360, Ping TiSi Tec, Callaway VFT |

Just finished my first round with it. Pleasant feel - the stock taylormade MAS 70 shaft is adequate - changed from a titleist 975J with grafalloy - improved feel and 25 yards extra carry. Tolerance seems excellent, sweet spot is huge.Great performance, nice feel, excellent distance, though slightly shorter than a Callaway ERC2 (but much easier to hit straight consistently. Customer Service Ordered it and delivered by taylormade within 3 days Similar Products Used: titleist 975 J, Ping TISI |

Just got R580 and used it only once so far. All I can say is WOW. What a club!! It is longer than my old driver, by at least 25 yds, but thats not the best part. This driver is STRAIGHT. I don't think I missed a fairway all day, and considering my slice is quite the achievment. Similar Products Used: Yonex Renkin 3 |

Wow i got my length back.I had a 320tour and loved it so like a fool i traded it on the Titleist 975J-VS,Big mistake i lost at least 15 yards.I tried the R510 and it went too low and knuckled the ball.tried the R580 and it was nice and looooong but way too big.I got the R540 because it was long, easy to hit,a good size, and similar to the 320 tour head. These are the USGA conforming clubs. Customer Service Roger Dunn will handle any warranty problems so i never need to deal with the Manufacture. They say Youre #1 at Roger Dunn!! Far and away the best driver I have ever hit. Very forgiving. I consistantly hit 75-80% of my fairways now. A 300 yd drive is not a strain anymore. The price is steep, but if your looking to improve your length and accuracy, this is most forgiving driver out there. TM 580 9.5 stiff
Just tried this driver at the range on a demo day .The TM Rep spent a lot of time getting the right club for me I finally settled on a 580. I had taken about 50 old non range balls with me and then went and hit this against the Titleist J and Ping tec(which are both very good).Anyway the range at Shay has a green at 250 yards which I hit with all three clubs, the deciding factor was the first 3 drives with the 580 carried the fence behind the green ,I have never done this with any driver! the deal was done.If you can go to a demo day and get fitted it makes a big difference (ask the tm rep about playing into the wind, very interesting! )What can I say about this club ,very straight and very long. Customer Service Steve and the guys at Shay are very good they always spend time finding the right gear for me Similar Products Used: TM320, Ping i3, GBB ,Cleveland Launcher(very good) |
