Won the TA7 last Christmas. It is a very solid club. Picked up distance and accuracy over my previous driver (tm 320). Moveable weights are nice, but once you set it to your liking you will not need to adjust it. The face is closed 4 degrees, so you need to adjust for it. I would not have paid $499 for the club.

Taylor Made has a winner with the R7. This is one of the most accurate drivers I have ever hit. I don't hit it as far as alot of the drivers on the market, but the hit fairways make up for it. A great feeling club. Wonderful look at address. Taylor Made has hit a homerun. Thanks.

This is the best driver in the market today. I bought extra weight and set this to neutral D7... bang.. I hit some of the best drive in my life. Diamana 63 make this a dream driver for me. I used to hit driver 4-5 times per round, this make me want to hit all my tee shot with the driver. Long and accurate, great feel. It does not go very far on a miss but that's your fault. Weight adjustable is not gimmic, it will help you tremendously if you know how to take advantage of this feature. Last word, Swing weight does matters... tune it... find the one that feel the best in your swing. Your driver will becomes your best friend.

this is a great club. that is if u are happy with losing 15 yards to hit evry fairway. I dont hit this nearly as long as the titleist but i miss almost no fairways. anyone who says the weights are a gimmic does not no what they are talking about. they do effect the ball flight.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made r7 Quad

Congratulations Taylor Made - the r7 Quad is one hell of a driver - no wonder it has won more awards and accolades than you can poke a stick at. I play off a 9 handicap and have a driver swing speed of 100-105. I tried out a number of different drivers at the golf shop on their computer including the r5 dual, the r5 dual TP, the r7 quad, the cobra 440sz and the now superseded callaway fusion.(I hit 6 balls with each driver) The r7 quad and the r5 both went about 240 yards on the fly - with the r7 being slightly more accurate of the two. I then hit the r5 TP expecting great things (since it had a "better" and more expensive shaft)but found it was 10-15 yards shorter than the r5 and the r7. The Cobra and the Callaway didnt fair much better for me all finishing around the same distance as the r5 TP. (To be truthful I think the Callaway Fusion is a load of rubbish and a lot of hype) So for me the decision came down to either the r5 dual or the r7 quad. The r5 dual was cheaper, felt more explosive off the face, reasonably straight and had a big 450 size head. The r7 quad was more expensive, felt good off the face, incredibly accurate and had a 400 size head. The thing that swayed me toward the r7 quad in the end (even though they both went the same distance) was that the r5 didnt have interchageable weights and therefore made it like all other drivers on the market - set to one shot bias - eg draw - limiting its use. The other reason was that I prefer a driver head size around 415 and I found the 450 to be a little to big for my liking. Since buying the r7 my driving has become straighter, longer and more consistent - and when you consider that you can not only alter the type of shot that you want but the flight height as well it really is not a wonder that this driver is leading the way for other manufacturers to follow and is making the one dimensional driver obsolete. The only thing that I will say to the handful of players that have given this driver a "bad" review is to try it out in a different shaft. Look - I dont profess to be an expert on the myriad of shafts and shaft options available - but one thing that I do know is that the shaft is the thing that determines whether that driver you are swinging will work for you (not the head). So swinging the first r7 quad (or any driver head that you have your heart set on) is more than likely going to have the wrong weighted, tipped or flexed shaft for your swing - resulting in bad/misleading results and bad/misleading golf club reviews. Thats why I went to a golf store where they had a computer that could measure your club head speed, launch angle etc. That way you can be fitted accurately using computer data - it worked for me! Conratulations again Taylor Made - the r7 quad is awesome - keep up the good work.

This Driver is Junk! Plain and simple. It is a dead stick. Distance was unimpressive, workability is average. The weights are just a selling point. It takes a minimum of 20 grams moved to change ball flight. I did a side by side comparison with other drivers including my wife's BANG 310 cc P1 with a ladies flex shaft. The BANG out drove it by 20 yards. Save your money and look else where. Don't fall to the hype.

Try again Taylor Made. If a company is going to charge $499.99 for a driver it had best be something so great it will never be matched. Taylor Made has let us down. This driver is doesn't even match the 580 model! The ball flight was good but overall the driver isn't very long and not very forgiving. I did hit alot a fairways, but distance was probably 15 yard shorter than any of the competitors. The head is well designed and the club may be right for some people. For the price there are far better choices on the market.

Paid $250 on Ebay for a new one. Didn't expect to win the bid at that price, but did. Okay, all things being equal, this is a very good driver for a player who wants to hit the ball in the fairway. There are longer drivers, but straight is the name of the game and once you set the weights correctly the ball will go where you want it to go. Since every swing is different, it does take some getting used to and fiddling with. I originally set the weights to strong draw, and saw some severe duck hooks. A fade setting will produce a slice that can hit a fairway one hole over if that's the way you like to play. A normal draw setting put a nice 5 degree right to left pattern on the ball. The driver loft is 10.5 degrees and it came with a stiff Taylor made shaft. Dump the shaft. I put a stiff Harrison 2.5 Tour Pro on it and I have not looked back. I wonder why they don't do shaft reviews on this web page. Anyway, that really straightened out my drives and distance improved as well. I went from feeling so-so about this club to 5.0 on the scale. Swing smoothly with this club and you will learn to live with the extra distance. The only thing I don't understand is why a player would spend nearly $400 on a golf club that he can adjust and then set the darn thing to neutral. Oh well golf is a funny game isn't it?

I recently started hitting this driver and I couldn't be more happy. I left the weights in the same position they came in from the factory and hit the ball very high, but it carried a mile. Previously I have been playing a Nike Forged Titanium 350 and was very happy with it. But this r7 gave me 15 to 20 yards more than I was getting with the Nike. I adjusted the weights for a lower trajectory and now I'm in love. When I hit the sweet spot, it goes 290 to 310. When I miss, I still get 275 out of it. I'm pleased all the way around. I tend to hit the sweet spot consistently, so I don't know how well it would perform for a higher handicap golfer, but for better players this is the best driver out there.

this driver in one word is terrible. I have no clue what cheap scheme Taylormade is running with this club, adding tiny weights to fix your swing. The club is VERY low quality, as is all Taylormade products. Taylormade is officaly a terrible brand, selling cheap things to people. I averaged 280 with my Ping G2, and could not get this piece of garbage over 240.

Customer Service

Terrible customer service, basically showed me the door.
