TaylorMade Burner
The Burner is awesome, that is as simply as I can say it. I am not a very big guy and always struggled to stay up with my buddies. Now when we are in a scramble, we play my ball. Unbelievable improvement over my old HiBore - I've never hit so many fairways and never reached in two on par fives before, now I am disappointed if I am not on in two or at least chipping on. For the relatively low price tag, you can't beat this club. Awesome. Customer Service Not Used. Similar Products Used: HiBore

This club is all the hype that surrounds it. I picked up a 9.5 degree with regular flex and played my first round with it yesterday. I had been using a TaylorMade R5 dual for the past 2 years. I am not a long driver, averaged about 230 with the R5. I was averaging about 265 with the new Burner, I used my skycaddie to mark the distances. Not only was I hitting it longer, but straigher. This club is very forgiving, has a great sound, looks great, super light with the new reax shaft. This club will be staying in my bag for a long time. If you struggle to hit your drives straight this is the club for you. Even when I didn't hit it on the screws it still went straight, just not as far. 2007 Taylor Made Burner Stiff 9.5*
Incredible! I've owned Wilson Deep Red, Titleist 9833, and Cleveland Launcher. This driver is far superior in the distance department. I never cared to write a review before but after hitting this driver I felt like telling someone how much I liked it. When hitting it on the driving range the booming sound is very embarrassing in the way that everyone is looking at you after you hit. I also feel it's a bit harder to draw or fade compared to the Titleist 983E I previously owned but it's probably the easiest to hit straight. I normally hit the ball abotu 280. I'm hitting the ball an extra 10-15 yards. Well worth the investment. |

Taylormade Burner(new) driver
Like many 'typical' golfers, Ive a garage full of clubs that never see the light of day. Over recent months my handicap has dropped from 21 to 16, predominantly by using long irons and callaways excellent steelhead 3 5 wood. These in an attempt to be on the fairway and relatively consistent. Have bought a few drivers over the last 18months with very mixed results, so thought it about time to get measured up and try and sort this driving part of the game out to lower the handicap and also, very importantly, to ENJOY the game more. Im 6'3", 190 with a swing speed of 100 - 105 and wanted something to 'beat' the 5 wood....tried 7 - 8 clubs before settling on the burner, 10.5 with a 50g stiff shaft. First round - disaster(trying to kill it), second round used it on first 4 driving holes(v simple, slow swing) 280, 310, 260 and a 290(all measured) fantastic, then killed my swing again(hey ho)....what can be taken away from this is a/ ive a v inconsistent swing, but more importantly b/ the club is able to deliver some fantastic, straight drives. If you have a good swing and dont try and kill the ball, then this club is absolutely awesome!! Its got a sleeker head than some of its rivals(hence not so clumsy looking), its v light and a wonderful club. The ball flight seems v high, but it just keeps on going. It was interesting to note, the difference between the 7-8 drivers i tried out, tempting as it is to get one off ebay etc, go get measured up and try it. Customer Service n/a |

Taylormade Burner
I demo'ed the Burner (R-Flex) last week over a few late day holes side by side with the Sasquatch. I could get a bit more yardage out of the Sasquatch but it was very unforgiving! So the Sasquatch went back to the proshop and the Burner went in my bag for a full 18 trial. This club rocks! I have a slow swing and struggle to hit 200 yds with my old Big Bertha. I was hitting 250 with the Burner and can't seem to miss the fairway! The only adjustment I had to make was to tee up a bit higher as it swings a bit thin (maybe due to the lighter weight?). The other nice thing about the club is the sound - solid metallic whack (almost like a brass faced wood). The Sasquatch sounds awful - hollow ringing ping - I wanted to wear earplugs. After the round I called home to get permission from "the boss" the buy one - this was granted :) The only downside is the 5 day wait for the Proshop to get one in! |

TaylorMade Burner
Before I buy a Taylormade Burner I was using a cheap Wilson Driver with regular steel shaft. My average distance was 230-240 yards, now with the burner 10.5* with a stiff stock shaft I improve by 20 yards my average driving distance. But the major improvement I found with the burner was the accuracy. I've hit 60 balls with my new driver and all those balls land approximatively at the same places. I was amazed. The sound and the feeling are great, way better than Nike SQ Sumo. I am very satisfied with the burner, you should try it before buying anything else cause this could be your next magic stick. Taylormade Burner (new)
I don't normally do reviews, but this club is worth it! I am 5'9" around 190 and swing the club about 90MPH. Almost all of my drives are in the 220-230 range on average. This club has increase that to around 250-270 (with roll) and it is in the fairway! For some reason it matches my swing speed very well and it is very easy to hit in the sweet spot. I tried all of the other major brands and this one was the most consistant and at least as long. If you are looking for a new driver try this one out before you buy! I just bought this club and the first couple holes I was struggling a little bit with it but once I got it down I was killing the ball. I drove the green on a par 4 330 yard hole. Let me tell ya, this club is amazing. Buy it, you'll love it. I do. |

Burner TP/65g stiff
I made a change this year form a Cleveland launcher after I demoed the TP this spring. I could not believe the how long I was hitting it (330 range) and what a great feel it had, Unfortunately am in real predicament now... the burner face seems very weak around the perimeter of the face. Since the track I play is basically a cow pasture (Lyman Jones) I swing hard just incase I hit it. I am on my fourth club now, The golfers warehouse and taylormade have been great about letting me exchange... But I am now forced to make a change. Has anyone else had problem with the face denting around the top edge weld or toward the toe weld? |
